[Scripting Question] Is it possible to have the player character as a battler with the normal battle options?

    Hi there

I'm pretty new to Essentials, but I was wondering if there was any way to make it so when you entered a Pokemon battle, the player trainer sprite would be the main battler without sending out any Pokemon? Similar to the safari zone, but without any of the safari zone rules.

Basically: Battle starts, sprites appear, but the player does not send out any Pokemon and their back sprite remains on screen. Then, the normal UI pops up and functions as normal. [FIGHT, BAG, POKEMON, RUN].

From what I understand, I think you could achieve something like this by having a custom "Player" Pokemon that would normally get sent out, but use a trainer back sprite as the battler image. The issue comes with preventing the game from playing the "Player sends out Pokeball" animation as that would look weird in this context.

I'm not sure if something like this is possible but would be grateful for any help!

    Thanks

I mean, you already acknowledged that the Safari Zone works this way. So that's probably a good place to start looking.
