Is this the tip of the iceberg?

So today in the uk we have a shortage of iceberg lettuces and broccoli because of the bad weather in Spain. Given that the effects of global warming are becoming more prominent, should we be making alternative arrangements for global food production?

    Good riddance I say

Iceberg lettuce is a useless food anyway, there's no nutritional value to it, just eat romaine.

I've actually stayed away from lettuce a lot lately because I find it very useless XD

Broccoli though, is my main thing. It's so awesome.

i feel like everyone is missing the point here

I see what you mean and I think this is interesting. I don't really have an answer to give unfortunately but let's say that the best idea is to shop local and grow our own food. It sucks that we can't eat stuff form other places when we are doing that and some food might become more luxury than other things. Some fruits and vegetables are pricey here. I think that's how it's gonna be in the futur. More and more expensif to a point when we'll have to forget about some food?

It might happen tho as the society evolve so quickly. Not that long ago you didn't had that many fruits and vegetables here. It's kinda new.

I think food production will become a much more important priority for us as the effects of global warming continue. I grow my own food even though I live in an urban area....it's so satisfying but extremely difficult at times!

We have the ability to grow our own veg. It's not overly hard. That's the problem of globalization, we've become so reliant on imports. If we ever see another big war then Britain is done for because we're so reliant on everyone else.

I'm gonna start growing my own veg when we get a bit more sun, practice what I preach.

let that weak ass lettuce die

    that cheap old lady salad

I grow my own but I have to say it is difficult....you nurture that seed and then bam the weather changes and the seedling dies...then there's pests!
