Is Verizon going too far with this and being a bit too ballsy?

    I mean look at this:

Sure they want to rival AT&T who have the I-Phone but good lord this feels like the 90s where commercial flaming was cool. In this day and age it seems a bit strange and even more that it comes from Verizon.

Honestly, it gave me a good laugh, and got me interested in their product. I'll be checking this phone out. They're doing just what they intended, which is getting consumers interested. I applaud Version for this gutsy attempt.

xD. They did this with the "Theres a map for that." ad too. I just laugh. I hope this phone can finally rival the 3G

Looking from the specs I posted in that BGR article it does seem to be a bit more if not quite more powerful then the I-Phone. Assuming they are real of course.

Did you watch TV at all during election season? This is a light slap compared to the smear campaigns some candidates put out.
Seeing how I do not live in the states anymore no I didn't. Wait a non states living member posting Stateside stuff? Blasphemy!

To be honest, unless you actually look up the website in the ad, you don't even know it's Verizon that's doing it. I do have to admit it does draw out intrigue very well and leave you in suspense.

Of course they're going to try to flame the iPhone. It's their main competitor. What, you think car manufacturers don't criticize their competitors in commercials? Clearly, you've never seen a car commercial, then.

There's one really important point that everyone seems to be missing. How is this any worse than Apple's ads with "Mac" and "PC" and everything they say in those? I think it's about time someone took a stab back at Apple.

For the record though, I don't agree with these types of commercials from anyone. I miss the days when they didn't use competitors names to directly bash them (though I guess this commercial doesn't technically do that). The only reason I don't think this one is going to far is that it's something Apple has been doing since the very beginning.

From a purely advertising standpoint, Verizon gets a thumbs up. They directly showed how their product can do what their competitor's can't.

And Android is a pretty amazing platform, especially with how Eclair looks to be turing out.

I thought there wasn't a good mobile out yet that can handle Android's awesomeness

Loved the ad, thought its ballsy'ness was fine as long as it doesn't flop.

I also took the liberty of decoding the countdown on their teaser page:

[PokeCommunity.com] Is Verizon going too far with this and being a bit too ballsy?

    The first six numbers read:

    21 27 45 XX

It's a countdown, so I'm guessing a release date or something.

I could care less. I care more about that it says iPhones don't take night photos. They do. D:< I've seen it happen. You just need another App I think.

Eclair is indeed something amazing. More clean and professional then Donut or whatever the first was calle.d

October 30th is the date it ends on.
