I've Never Used a Tentacool Before!

No, I actually haven't ever used a Tentacool in any Pokemon game before! What are some Pokemon you have never used in a Pokemon game before?

I have, well, a lot... but, I've never used quite a lot of the Gen I solo, non evolving ones, like Kangashkan and Pinsir. Surprisingly, though, I haven't ever used the Tentacool line! Which is weird... considering Tentacool is available in p much every Pokemon game except Generation Five! I also have never used a lot of the trade evolution mons such as Alakazam, Huntail, to name a few. I believe one of the few trade mons I've ever used is Scizor, actually. Maybe I should challenge myself to do so in the future...

I went through the Kanto Pokedex, and I'm pretty sure I've used 99% of them at one point or another, but I honestly don't think I've ever had a Tangela on my party. It's not particularly impressive stats wise, and just as far as Kanto goes, there are plenty of other options for Grass type Pokemon before you even encounter it, so I never felt it was worth it. I've never had Tangrowth either, though I'm definitely more likely to use one of those than just Tangela.

After a quick scan of the rest of the National Dex, some of the ones that stood out to me from each region were the Aipom line, the Meditite line, the Shellos line, Throh/Sawk, the Fennekin line, and the Mareanie line. I'm sure there a bunch more too, but these were some of the more common ones I haven't tried.

there's a lot of pokemon i haven't used before that i'd like to use someday.

gen 1 - gengar. i've never used this one since its a trade evolution and i don't have anyone to trade with ;-; scyther too. it looks cool and i think its good in battle but i haven't gotten around with using it; same goes with dragonite.
gen 2 - houndoom and kingdra. i never felt inclined to have houndoom, so i never got around to using one, and i don't know where to catch one 8). kingdra is a trade evolution, so :(
gen 3 - exploud. i'm pretty sure i have used almost every hoenn pokemon. but exploud is a pokemon i have never used once. i don't really use normal type pokemon with my playthroughs but i hope i get to use one for a replay.
gen 4 - Lucario. this is a cool pokemon, i acknowledge that. but i always pick infernape as my starter. and i don't like two same types of pokemon in the same team.
gen 5 - Hydreigon. seems like a cool pokemon but i don't like that it evolves so late :/
gen 6 - Sylveon and Talonflame. both great pokemon that i'd like to use for a future playthrough
gen 7 - Mimikyu and Decidueye. both are great pokemon, but i generally pick fire/water as a starter. for my third playthough, i'll definitely use these both

My long-term goal is to use every single Pokémon. It's quite hard to keep track of the ones I've already used, but I think this list are all the Pokémon I have yet to use:

Spoiler:

It's pretty long list, but I wanted to make one for a while, so why not here. I'm looking forward using most of the Johto Pokémon I haven't used yet. And Castform.

I pretty much never use mythical pokemon. It is not that I don't like them, I love most of them but just never get the chance to use them.

1) They are usually not available through normal gameplay, but part of special, limited time events that I probably missed out on :p

2) The few exceptions to this are in post-game plotlines like the Delta Episode in Oras and the GS ball in Crystal's vitual console release. These in-game mythicals can't be accessed until after you have become champion and beaten the game tho. There's nobody left to battle with your mythical pokemon by the time you have them. They are also not allowed in the post-game battle facilities.

3) I don't battle competitively right now either.

4) When I do redeem a mythical through event or trade and have the chance to use it in-game, I still opt to store it 99% of the time. I don't want to altogether miss collecting such cool pokemon, but because they are special pokemon I also don't want to take away all challenge from the gameplay, especially if it is early in the game or a brand new region.

I've never used an Ariados, even though I used Galvantula and Araquanid.
I've never used the Metagross line, even though it's one of my favorite Pokemon. (Not like you can get it early-game...*grumble* Wait, you can in Alola??)
I've never used the Spiritomb line - another of my favorite Pokemon. (Honestly, I'd like to just solo-run some random game with a transferred, bred Spiritomb. Ooh! Or 6 Spiritomb! Nothing like a team of 648 damned souls, am I right?)
I've never used Arceus, because I keep missing the events. I remember just straight-up not going to the original DPPT event, for some reason, and sorely regretting it. Then when it was distributed in US/UM(?), it was during a period where I was apathetic about Pokemon (and in general), so I...did the same thing. What is wrong with me?? I love this Pokemon!
...Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever used a Snorlax. Hmm. (I caught the ones in Let's Go Eevee, but so far they're still snoring in the Pokemon box.) I like the Pokemon, and it's basically handed to you in multiple games, but I guess I've always had other priorities...

I never raised a Venomoth in my main walkthroughs.

My primary reason being that I always seem to acquire an objectively better Poison-type by the time I find a Venonat, be it Nidoking or Zubat in Kanto and Johto. Plus, Venonat hasn't been native to subsequent regions like Scyther or Gastly would be from time to time before the Elite Four.

Muk.

.... For some reason it never really crossed my mind to use one. But this goes for most Poison-types in general. :x

In Generation 1, I don't entirely blame you with Psychic dominance and Ground just destroying it. That said, its still a pretty decent Pokemon if allowed to set-up with Minimize or Acid Armor. Its Alolan variant isn't that bad either with Dark Typing removing one of its Poison vulnerabilities.

I've made it a point to use every fully evolved Pokémon that I'm able to in every game, so over the years I'm sure I've used all of them! :)
