OK, as far as spending points:
@Lewie: There are already 3 members with Charizard as a partner. I only allow 3 members to have the same partner to maintain partner diversity. Charmander and Charmeleon can be a partner though.

@Sector Revenge: I'll get on that shiny upgrade! And yes, always feel free to post new topics at any time.

Curious about Lewie's post, you do have 4 members with Charizard, so only 3 original and 3 shiny of each or something? (3 Originals and 1 Shiny on the Member's list) Wanted to clear that up!

TOPIC:

Just for Generation 1 Pokemon (Pretend we're playing Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow/Green/Stadium), how would you go about creating a Mono-Ghost and a Mono-Dragon party?

(I looked and I couldn't find a topic asking this question, so hopefully this is a first!)

<3 that Shiny Ninetales!

WHOOPS!!! My mistake! I misse J1KTheGamer! I'll PM him to ask for a new partner. Also, I did not make that Shiny Ninetales icon, I found that one premade. That and Charizard were premade, the rest I made myself.

On-topic: We actually had something similar to this, about the rarity of Dragon and Ghost-types in Generation I. But, let's see... As far as monotypes... the only way I can think of is doing it solo, or just using multiples with different movesets, due to their wide movepools.

Haha that's fine :)

However, I remember back in Pokemon Stadium they uesd Ghost/Dragon-like Pokemon to make it seem like those specific type's party.

Mono-Ghost Type:
Golbat, Gengar, Muk, Venusaur, Jynx & Alakazam

Mono-Dragon Type:
Gyarados, Charizard, Dragonite, Kangaskhan, Aerodactyl & Arcanine/Lapras

That's really the best way you could do it, in my opinion.

Mono-Ghost: Gengar, Gengar, Gengar, Gengar, Gengar, Gengar
Mono-Dragon: Dragonite, Dragonite, Dragonite, Dragonite, Dragonite, Dragonite.

There's no other option, really.

LOL that's funny

By the way, since no one else said it, I wanted to say Happy 'Belated' Birthday to Mewtwo as well!! I know it's late, but better late than never!

Gengar x 6
Dragonite x 6

like what 2CoolForMewtwo said, there is no other way to have a mono-ghost or dragon in gen 1 simply because of the lack of it. Heck you could not even make a proper mono dragon nor ghost up until generation three. I think i would just diversify the movepool and such, seeing as both pokemon carries wide enough movepool.

OK, everything shall be updated momentarily.

Mentioning their wide movepools reminds me of why the original Ghost and Dragon-types, Gengar and Dragonite, are still so popular today. It's because they are such versatile Pokemon with excellent movepools, and Dragonite became especially useful with Multiscale. I know, I have one on my Sun team.

Dragonite on your Sun Team? Never thought of using him for that xD I've used him for Rainy Day team with Hurricane/Thunder tactics!

Deoxys121, can I have a Ninetales called Alicia instead?
It's my 3rd favourite first generation pokemon.

Here would be my Mono-Ghost and Mono Gengar Type Party...
Mono-Ghost Team: Gastly, Haunter, Gengar, Gastly, Haunter, Gengar.
Mono-Dragon Team: Dragonite, Dragonite, Dragonite, Dragonite, Dragonite, Dragonite.
That's the only other way to do it really with some variety.

Dragonite in sun team is not a bad idea; Ice type moves are also weakened during sun, if I can recall.

Hmm... But Dragonite could function better in Rain, because of Hurricane and Thunder. A way better Rain team member than Thundurus.

Anyway, I would like to add a Gengar named Poltergeist to my partner Pokemons. :) and I will upgrade that to shiny. Yup yup, I will go shopping!

[evillaugh] I have checked. I will be the taker of the last Gengar. [/evillaigh]

Hi everyone~! :)

Username: Hydro Pumper (or just Hydro is fine~)
Favorite Gen I Pokemon: Gyarados, Dragonite, Alakazam, Arcanine, Machamp, Rhydon, Porygon.
Partner Pokemon: Hydro the Gyarados

On-topic:

Generation I Dragon monotype team: Dratini (3), Dragonair (2) and Dragonite (1).

Generation I Ghost monotype team: Gastly (3), Haunter (2) and Gengar (1).

As Deoxys says, performing a solo-run would be perfectly viable in my opinion. Though in-game I enjoy using pre-evolutions, so I'd probably use multiples of each of the Pokemon in the evolution line. :)

Hydro you need a certain something in your post!

I'm really not a fan of pre-evolutions, They are too weak for my liking and can't take a hit as well.

Who is this supposed to be (the second one) LOL! try moving the image around a bit. :)
It was suppose to be scrolling up and reserved scrolling. The one and only cute kitty that gave birth to the one and only, Mewtwo! (Not Mewthree, the other way hehe)

;)

mR, I'm working on your shiny Gengar icon now. After it's done, everything will be updated.

2Cool4Mewtwo, as classiccartoonsftw said, only Water-type moves are weakened in sun. :P Otherwise I wouldn't use HP Ice on my Ninetales.

Hydro, you're missing one thing from your join post. Review the rules to find it. But, I do like your idea of using pre-evolutions. Before, I've used a Graveler that I never evolved into Golem because I couldn't trade with anyone. And Graveler did just fine on its own. When used properly, almost any Pokemon can do well.
