Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu

Average kid with a hero complex certainly beats what he turned into, yup. Other than his constant annoying reactions to stuff he seemed like a pretty okay character for this type of series, not many chinese cartoon teens would have asked her to stay over. If he was desperate to make him cool it would have been nicer if his mind was altered slowly throughout the series and not in the space of 1 chapter. Oh well.

Murano's manga design is pretty nice, shame they changed it so much.

Funny how most people prefer the anime style =D
You never fail to amaze me =D
Not true. I've seen a lot of fans say they prefer manga design. I myself belong to the camp as well.

@laptrap @Shinichi's development - I think it is a little jarring and awkward, yes, but it isn't happening all of a sudden. The change, as I saw it, was gradual to a degree. Except the fact that instead of making it a smooth curve comprising of infinitesimally small increments, they instead did it in a way that was noticeable due to the fact that it somehow couldn't feel truly natural. Either way, they haven't got more than one season/two cours - they'll probably end up finishing it all. Could've spread things out if they had like four cours and it might've felt more natural - although, as things stand, it doesn't possess that luxury. I'm happy it even got an adaptation at all.

I'm fine with it not being very good because we're lucky we even got it anyway.

I don't think there was much change prior to Migi's cells being spread throughout his body. Of course there was flashes of him calmly thinking things through but I'd put that down to experience and you know, not wanting to be killed.

Obviously a great deal of change occured AFTER migi's cells spread out throughout the body. But subtle nods were being dropped from the very first episode that Shinichi and Migi are affecting each other. Shinichi getting over his fear of spiders, migi slowly but gradually becoming more and more human-like, Ryoko remarking on his "impure" (idk what word she used specifically but yeah) status as a human - all this and more pointed towards the fact that he's undergoing change. For a bulk of change to happen AFTER a major incident seems only natural - the rate at which the change was happening got enhanced by a great deal after migi spread himself.

I don't really see much that's wrong with it. But yeah, spreading the change over a greater amount of episodes and actually giving the whole issue more limelight - I agree that it would've been a huge plus. But ah well, like you said, we're lucky we're even getting the anime adaptation of a 20 year old manga.

Episode #12 in. Saw it a while ago. Sorry I gotta bump this thread. :p

Tbh I disagree with you, Laptrap, when it comes to Madhouse's treatment of the anime. I don't really believe they're doing a bad job at all - this latest episode just reinforces my belief. It was done really well.

Seriously though, those scenes at the end were quite sad. They were done really well. I felt for Shinichi. And even though THE main thing that happened in this episode happened after a LOT of foreshadowing and hints, I still got affected by it.

I don't care about that bitch. Well deserved.

edit:

I was coming to edit the bad word I used because I felt guilty and turned it to be the forum will automatically change it to "rattata".

I can't stop laughing LOL

Episode #14 honestly gave me some chills.

Spoiler:

*Cleans the dust*

Oh well, this is kinda abandoned, isn't it?

I am still deciding if I hate or like Ryouko, but after this episode it would seem is about to be the later.

Yes, yes, that really is the case. Every week Parasyte leaves on a note that makes me want more and more. ;]

At times I kinda just forget about coming over here to talk about it because I'm seriously busy with life. But I'd like to fix that - will try being regular in these discussions. Especially because this really did turn out to be one of my favorites from the previous season. <3 And I've always liked Ryoko. Initially, it was just her charming looks that caught my attention but she gradually became a much more interesting character. Seeing an episode revolve more or less around her made me happy. Her thoughts and actions are a treat to watch.

I agree with this. I thought the character wouldn't last more than three or four episodes. It turned to be we got to see the whole character development the writer had for her.

Nevertheless, could someone take away that baby from her, please, LOL
