It's true that you can't use Latin anywhere else other than the Vatican, but I didn't think it was particularly hard language to learn...Is that the general perception of Latin these days? D: I found it enjoyable learning it, even though all we did was writing and grammar.
 
Realistically, just English. However, through High school classes, I know a little bit of Spanish and Sign Language.
 
English is pretty much the only language I'm fluent in, as it's my first language. I also know a few Chinese phrases, but not nearly enough to have a conversation with.

I've been learning Japanese for maybe 4 years (5th year starting this year) which has been quite a good experience and I feel like I'm progressing quite well with it. Hopefully I can get good enough to visit Japan without difficulty one day.
 
Since I was born in Germany, I can speak German as mother tongue, and English as second language. And I got kinda fluent in English with 16. Other than that, I can just swear words and that in Russian, Polish, Croatian, Turkish take that as something :3
 
I only speak English fluently. I can understand enough written and spoken French to get by (and honestly, if I had to speak it to get my point across if I was lost in a French-speaking locale, I'd probably manage okay) but it's really deteriorated over the years since I don't like the language all that much and haven't had a reason to use/study it since high school.

I really like learning Japanese and I've been studying it a long time but it's been lazy studying. I have almost no interest in being able to speak Japanese orally so I focus most of my efforts on reading comprehension. I can understand fairly basic things when they're said to me but I'm much better at it when kanji is involved, haha.

English, French, Ilocano, Tagalog, Spanish, a bit of Italian & Portugese.

Haha no. I'm too stupid to learn a whole different language. English is enough for me, I barely understand it as it is.
 
I'm taking Spanish, took it last semester and now a more advanced class in that subject. It's not exactly straightforward stuff for me, although I feel like everybody in my class has it down except me...
 
Unfortunately, I can only speak English. I think that it would be great if I could learn another language, but it is just so difficult to do so after early childhood. Hopefully someday I will be able to learn another language to be a more useful member of society :3
 
english is my first language but ive known spanish almost my whole life, ive been studying japanese recently although i am nowhere near close to fluent yet.
 
I can speak English, Arabic, and French. My first language is Arabic. I mostly speak English. I speak French too since a lot of Lebanese people speak French, but I don't speak it as well as English or Arabic. I grew up speaking French as well. My paternal grandparents are francophiles and enjoy speaking French, though my maternal grandmother does not speak French. I don't speak Arabic to non-Arabs except for my friends Frank, Ashley, and Tom.

I would like to learn either Spanish or Portuguese.

I speak Cantonese and English fluently, and can (kind of) read and write traditional Chinese. I'm also currently taking a Mandarin course and learning simplified Chinese, which is going pretty well - I just lack the courage to speak it outside of class.

I took French from grades 6-12, and 3 semesters of Latin in college, but I'm far from fluent in those languages.
 
i can only speak english.
learned some spanish in school.
learned some french.
don't remember any of it.
