My parents didn't like McDonalds so we barely went there. Maybe like once a year if at all xD

I once saw a video about what can be put in food in the U.S.
There was a bunch of weird stuff. I don't remember what it was, but there was a food that had a % of sawdust/woodpulp as being allowed to be in it, for example.

mcdonald's seems to taste better today than it did years ago, but i'm not sure why.

Probably a better fat/salt/sugar combination ^^"

They tend to adjust their menu to the country they are in as well.
Here the 'McKroket' is a popular item, I've yet to see it at a MCDonalds abroad, though I don't go abroad often and usually only go to fastfood restaurants then if there's no other restaurants nearby.

In my country we have KFC, McDonald's, Quick, Burger King... I'm not sure if all four are US though.
My country loves the USA, everything American is "cool"...

They've been making lots of commercials here about their vegan/vegetarian options lately...
Why would anyone seek out a fastfood restaurant for that xD

The Vegan/Vegetarian option exists not for Vegan/Vegetarian people to eat at McDonald's, but rather, for them to be able to follow non-Vegan/Vegetarian friends when they decide to go to the restaurant.
Also Vegan/Vegetarian people don't choose these eating styles for health, but rather, for ethical reasons. I'd say the most harcore Vegans wouldn't go to McDonald's anyway because it's not a Vegan franchise as a whole.

Also the point raised by Megan is probably valid even though, as I said, as a Vegan, you just follow your non-Vegan friends and I guess you don't think too much about contamination (unless you're hardcore Vegan, I guess).

all the fast food chains here are big on fake meat and halloumi alternatives now. we have loads of vegetarians and vegans.

I eat vegetarian once or twice a week, but have yet to ever order it in any type of restaurant.
They sell some pretty tasty vegetarian products in the supermarkets here, which is what I usually get.
Despite those products being tasty they are just plain too expensive for me to get them more regularly though.

Well, it consists of, as someone put it: "stuff that hasn't been banned, yet"

I think there's certain proteins in soy beans that help with the taste. But they don't just try to immitate the taste. And the stuff they use for those other things hasn't necessarily been tested in regards to long term effects on the body.
