Sort of? The only similarities are that they're rhythm games. Think of it like osu but instead of just sections being cleared or failed, there could be a goal like "score enough points" or you lose a big chunk of your stamina.

...Osu's already kinda awkward with its stamina to me honestly...

Yeah, my skill at osu isn't... the greatest. I wouldn't consider myself super good at rhythm games but I'd still say I have some skill. They're just less comfortable to play on a PC than a mobile device or console. The highest difficulty I could full combo was a 3 star song I believe.
osu is still really fun for the fact that players make their own beatmaps for songs so you can basically just download and play whatever songs are out there.


This is closer to the kinds of games I'll play, this is a song I've been practicing a full combo of actually. Playing on a phone with my thumbs is the most comfortable for me so stuff like this is really fun.

Mouse and Osu aren't meant to be together tbh. Mostly cause by the time someone moves the mouse we miss a combo hehe

I was new to rhythm games (still am).

Yeah mouse controls are never the most comfortable, it's way easier to move my thumbs to different inputs than an entire mouse. If I play osu I'll just bind my inputs to my keyboard so I don't have to click, but then... you still have to move the mouse...

When I got into the first rhythm game I started playing seriously, I felt like I could start on the harder difficulties cause I had some experience growing up with stuff like Stepmania (which is like a PC version of dance dance revolution) and I just poured a lot of time into it that I kept practicing.

Idol games are lots of fun because getting full combos on songs gives you gacha currency to roll for your favourite girls. Big reason I've been practicing over the years, I'll admit, haha...
