Even though Bible isn't always changing (even though it's been edited over the history), the way people see god isn't the same of the middle ages. One can think god is clement toward homossexuality.

Oh, I totally agree there. Even my own understanding of God has changed over time. But that doesn't mean that God is changing.

And you mentioned that God may be clement towards homosexuality. I would argue that He's clement towards all sin, but that doesn't mean we should just keep doing it. Sin keeps our relationship with Him from growing, and can ultimately lead us away from our faith.

For what reason was it necessary for you to post something like that in a thread created for people who are the most likely to oppose your opinion?
LOL. We always need a devil's advocate hon.

Plus txtexclipse is pointing out exactly why religion is so scientifically backwards and made judgments about things it could not even comprehend at the time. Things such as sexuality.

Say and think of what you will, txeclipse.

But I don't see how Homosexuality is different from Heterosexuality.
You know, besides one little thing.

A romantic relationship something that is personally between two people.
That can blossom into Love.

"Love" is defined as:

@ Dictionary.com:
–noun
1.a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person.

@ Wikipedia:
Love is any of a number of emotions related to a sense of strong affection[1] and attachment.

@ Merriam-Webster Online:
(2) : attraction based on sexual desire : affection and tenderness felt by lovers

[First definition was family love]

Love between two people is a beautiful thing, and means that they truly care about one another.

....And the difference between Straight and Gay Love is that Straight is between a Man and a Woman and Gay is between Man and man or Woman and Woman?

I don't see how being Homosexual "compromises" God's laws for "pleasure" or "convience".

Why is it such a big deal if a dude is with a another dude rather than a girl?

And I don't see how something that happens naturally everywhere would be such a sin. It even happens in animals. Constantly.

I refuse to believe that God is a bigot.
I can't see how he can condemn someone for being attracted to the same sex, which is something they can't control.

And not trashing the bible or anything here,
but I don't see how something that was constantly changed and edited throughout history can talk on the behalf of God as of present.
or Even if they are his ideas on things, and not just someone else's claiming to be his.
Misinterpretation of original text or loss and Tweaks in translation can be everything in the long run, aswell.

I also really don't understand how God would send the worlds's most generous, selfless person to the deepest depth of hell just because they like the same sex.

However, I can't speak on behalf of God either.
I just think of God as a benevolent being of creation, rather than a, well, a maleviolent dicator of the Afterlife.

It's hard to say. Well, all we know about the christian god is what is written in the bible (which isn't completely reliable). According to the bible, you are right, but I don't think you have to accept everything written there as truth in order to accept god, yet you can be christian.

I'm not gay, but I'm atheist (I just think it's not very likely there's a god out there).

Homosexuality is pleasurable. Justifying doing it by (what I consider to be) turning a blind eye to God's word is convenient.

Animals kill each other and have open sex, too. In that same vein, sin is a natural part of humanity. Just because something happens naturally doesn't mean it isn't sin.

I would imagine that every person on the planet has had or will have a homosexual thought at least once in their lifetime. That much is beyond our control. However, dwelling on those thoughts, feeding them, and acting on them is definitely under our control.

I personally believe that it is man's failure to draw close to God, not God's failure to draw close to man, that leads to his downfall. God can't love you any more than he does now. Whether you choose to acknowledge and reciprocate that love determines your fate.

Speaking of love, there is a difference between love and attraction. This is an important point that took me nine years of pain to understand, so if any of you take nothing else from my being here, then please remember this. Love and romantic attraction are not the same thing. Love is an unconditional sense of worth that you apply to another person. Attraction is sexual desire for that person.

On that note, I'm tired, hungry, and I have the beginnings of a headache, so I'm going offline now. This coming week is finals week, so I'm going to be very preoccupied with studying and taking tests, but I will attempt to continue answering questions and addressing comments any of you may have. I will have a higher chance of getting to you if you VM or PM me, but I will at least try to read this thread if I have the time.

So is Heterosexuality. What? you don't think that men and women don't have sex just the pleasure of bumping uglies?

I think you might want to fix your argument before you call it "a blind spot for convience".

Okay, really?

So, let me get this straight, if the bible said Heterosexuality was a sin, you would condemn every animal that had straight feelings?

And don't give me "Oh, you're twisting my words" argument. That's exactly what you're saying here, and you know that Heterosexuality is natural, too.

Hm, so, what this says is;

Homosexuality is some sort of natural occurance that, if you feed, causes sin.

You're making it sound like Homosexuality is something similar to what Super-religious Chastity supporter says about the urge for underage sex.

Have whatever opinion of what determines afterlife fate,
But in my view, the goodness and moral views of the person determines thier fate.

I know the difference between love and attraction, in case you were thinking otherwise.

What I don't see is how, let's say man for sake of an Example, will be applauded of condemned based of his natural attraction to a gender. How, it's so terrible and sinful is just isn't attracted to women.

Being gay isn't a horrible monster that hides in closets and murders you while you sleep.
It's just the opposite of being Straight.

Whether that gets into your head or not isn't my problem whatsoever.

Comments in Bold.

I'm getting tired of having to argue about pathetic desputes like this.
Which, frankly, is why I'm asking myself why I'm doing this now.

Some people's views will never change and it's very rare with topics like this if they ever do.
Only hope that one day, I can step outside and say that, yes, the world has very much improved since I last remember.

Well txt I think you have a huge misconception between a stray homo thought and homosexuality.

I have the stray hetero thought, but I do my best to keep those under control ;) Utterly repulsive lifestyle IMO. Being straight is a choice, and we have to love those who choose to practice it, but the flying spaghetti monster makes it absolutely clear that it *is* a sinful way to live.

Oh yay. More religious arguing. ._. Might as well throw in my two cents:

Spoiler:

That story about the school kicking out students because their parents were gay (just awful, by the way) has got me wondering. Does anyone here have family/neighbors/people-in-your-lives-other-than-friends who are LGBT?

oh, so back to what I said a while back.

That instead of buying a shaver I bought a body trimmer. And finally used it today, to great effect. XD

My stomach is so smooth :3

I don't think I understand....
Does using a shaver make you straight?

I'ma gonna ignore the tangent of religious argument and concentrate on the LGBT discussion that seems to be taking place in the background.

So, Feign, smooth stomach? Nice. :D

Yeah, I got a Lesbian Cousin named Anna. :3

Bleh. I think body hair is sexy. :/

Now, I am not sure if this thread is JUST to say if you're gay or not. But, being gay and a lesbian means the same thing....

Now for one, I am not gay. I do however think people who come out 'of the closet' (horrible term....) are brave and strong people. Facing the world as a gay must be one of the hardest things a human can do. All the media propaganda saying it is bad, religious super powers who shun any sort of 'gay behavior'. And the list goes on. There is just so much more a gay person has to face in the world then a heterosexual.

I have nothing against homosexuals. Being gay should not change who you are, what people think of you, but sadly it does. And that will continue for the rest of eternity.

... To be fair, there are still some pretty strong racists out there.

In time, sure, there will be acceptance, but it will be a very long time. We may never live to see it, but it will happen eventually.

No it wont. People will change eventually. Even if we have to force them.

Just like racism, people used to say "It's only natural and it will continue for eternity." Has it really?
Racism is less prominent in modern days, as is sexism, but there are still many cultures and people who still harbor grudges against certain other races. Most on this planet probably believe in a stereotype or two of another race, even those who claim to be open minded (they probably know less about themselves than they think they do). So long as we classify aspects of life (whether it be race, gender, sexual orientation, or even things like fashion), there will be those who will discriminate based on those minute details alone.

And force people to change their opinions? How would that work? =/
