LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transexual) anyone?

I propose that we begin to wind this biblical topic down? I mean, I'm aware of religion's dabblings in homophobia, but I swear, the same point must have been raised about three times now.

All in favour? *raises hand*

Never heard of him before. Pretty funny, although he's no Margaret Cho or Eddie Izzard. I'd love to post some videos by them (especially something from Izzard's Dressed To Kill) but I'm having trouble finding good ones without swearing in them. C'est la vie.

This post here pretty much sums up my whole opinion of this thread thus far, a quick way to boost post counts defended by the fact it's disguised as a thread talking about a sensitive issue, although some serious discussion clearly took place, i cannot overlook the posts about "so and so is hot" etc.

Discussing attractive celebrities is a normal conversation topic and not a post-count-booster. Plus, the majority of posts here have been on topic. I resent the fact that you've labelled it as "a quick way to boost post counts defended by the fact it's disguised as a thread talking about a sensitive issue" as this is entirely not the case.

Talking about attractive celebs and the like is surely better suited for other entertainment or other clubs, hardly the type of discussion that a serious thread should attract, much like rule breaking posts and the constant swaying of topics. This is, basically, turning into a lgbt dcc.

I'm sorry, but in other threads, would it be taken so lightly for me to be discussing women? Or for the guys here to be discussing men?

It's simpler to do these things in a thread where the answers are considered run-of-the-mill.

Yes actually, it would. PC has always been more than accepting of difference. It's fine and all that you guys wanted a thread to see if there were others on PC (although by checking near enough any lady gaga thread/the dcc it's clear there are) and a thread for serious discussions relating to issues faced by lgbt members, but this thread just comes across as i dunno, elitist?

To be perfectly honest, yes it would. If anyone were to get on your case (and/or offend you) about discussing the attractiveness of a same-sex celebrity, they could be warned or infracted by a moderator. Honestly, PC is one of the most gay-friendly sites I've ever been to online. I don't think you'd run into that problem anyway.

I'm pretty sure no one would take it hard. This topic isn't focusing a single subject, so you can't blame one for talking about something you don't wish. You could start a topic only for trivial conversations, too.

Elitist? Explain.

And I'm not accusing PC of not being accepting, I'm just saying, the views are MORE LIGHTLY taken here. Yes, they are accepted elsewhere but it is EASIER.

It's a thread solely for certain people. If I was to post here saying how much I'd love to get foxy on I dunno, Cheryl Cole, it'd be frowned upon. If there was a thread solely for straight discussion it'd get closed in an instant, it's the sad "anti" prejudice attitude people are taking these days.

I believe it was created because LGBT are the minority to the straight majority, thereby qualifying it for a grouped discussion? You'll have to ask the creator more than me, though.

But that's not true at all on PC, nearly all threads here have equal grounds for all people, whereas this thread excludes straight discussion, personally I'm feeling a little bit segregated here.

I'm not straight, but why not I make a straight thread for you, and make your life happier, yes? And no, this is not mockery, this is me trying to stop some of you for bashing a certain group of people talking about thier intrests in one place on the internet. You certainly dont see the people in said discussion saying anything bad about other sexualities, or their beliefs and groups, do you?

Keep that stuff out of this thread. Sorry to be blunt but, honestly, it's kind of a mockery of what this thread SHOULD be for, which is debate and discussion surrounding LGBT issues.

Seeing a hot guy when you are also a guy is not something anyone can debate. If you wanna discuss what happens to you on a daily basis, get someone to make you a fanclub or post a blog entry (if it's available to you). You wanna discuss celebrities that you're attracted to? Great! That's something anyone can discuss, straight or gay or bi or whatever floats your boat. But it does not belong in a GBLT thread. Seriously. I think the OP kind of intended for this thread to be really vague so that it didn't get stuck on a single topic (so we can discuss gay marriage, rights, or anything like that) but that doesn't mean "talk about hot guys" is a good topic. :| I was damn close to closing this thread when I saw that several pages back. Even if that was OP's intention, I can guarantee if the thread completely devolves to that, it will be closed.

The only personal stuff I don't mind in here is "I want to come out but I don't know how" and related problems. That is something that can be discussed and is something that would not be acceptable or on-topic in most other threads. (Though really, it'd be juuust fine in the "Post Your Problems" thread.) I've seen some decent discussion come from that kind of thing in this thread.

I'm actually wondering if there are more people on here who want to come out, or maybe are still in self-denial. Or people who simply refuse to believe that they are indeed gay.

For those who are reading this topic and perhaps fall under such a category, seeing as the internet is anonymous (and no one really knows you surf this site), this thread is a good place to at least tell someone how you feel and such...

We should almost provide links on the first post. XD

Apart from all the bashing of Christianity? + a member being flamed for posting about his beliefs on the subject of why animal behaviour shouldnt be used as evidence to how human attraction works.
