This new color looks good too, though I liked her blue hair a bit more, personally.

after flip-flopping between charmander, oddish/bellossom, torchic & wingull, i decided to give heart her cute little charmander after all
she loves her so much, after all i'm working on her expressions, currently : D

i've finally decided on her finalized team that i'm happy with & i've found the perfect ''starter'' pokemon for her... wuffels the rockruff she's such a good girl & she was easier for me to draw her 🥰 i gave back heart's sprigatito for paldea
also, just sticking with pokemon that are animals that hatch from eggs suddenly felt too restricting...
bellossom is her mum's pokemon now : D
& heart is a alolan girl now & lives in & is from alola... where in alola? i don't know yet : 3... maybe iki town on melemele island

It wiped it again... >_> Everything I'd already typed out, even when I tested it and it seemed to save fine, it wiped it... I don't know why, and if I knew to ecpect it, I'd have been saving it separately like before, or posting it in batches, but I figured it was going to save it as long as I didn't fully log out, and I haven't. Cool to see Mellow and Topaz being the end of the timeline, I think they fit there the best.

i updated her eyes to look SOOOO... much better... this one was one of my first ones i did, i believe
the original is in the attachment for comparison the more i looked at her, the more i thought that her original eyes made her look emotionless : o ...
so i had to change them a little to be on par with many of her more current eyes

I think the update looks a lot better. Her new eyes look beautiful, and while I wouldn't call her earlier ones emotionless, I will say she looked at least a bit uncomfortable.

it's primerily these four (azumarill is with them now), though, i think.... moeka & woko take them to kitakami...

afina is a very quiet girl... at school & at home.... well, maybe not sooo much at home.... she hasn't any parents... (i hadn't drawn them yet... but) so there must be something up there & that must be connected to why she wants to go see the Wisteria Pond & the crystal pool in kitakami

yep, sizzle now has a different family & is with afina & ukko :3

My advice is to imagine the starts of all three and pick the one you have the most fun thinking about. The more you're enjoying it, the better the story will come out. So choose the one you want to do first the most.

So it's a funny shaped mountain they keep trying to point out but Lina won't let them haha.

The mountain itself has a nice name, though, even it it looks silly.

i think so, yes.... i imagine she'll fight tyria in dragon form, after she meets her much later, as a test.... (i think that's resting on the backburner for right now, so to speak, waiting to be decided on....)

No need to stress on working on those parts right now if they aren't even going to happen in her story for a while. Though it's neat she'll get to test herself against dragons at some point!

yeah, well... tell that to whoever says it to her, haha 😅 (gourry in s1 (he didn't mean it, i think... he just wasn't expecting her to be the height that she was/is in the first episode of s1) & s2 (though lina didn't hear him say it in s2), martina in s2... the pirates in s4 ep 1... pokota in s4 & s5 .... red priest rezo (though ozzel says it for him cause he was in the jar at the time, s5)

It probably just catches people off-guard at first haha. Though I could see someone also making fun of her for it if they felt like being mean, but I know she's strong enough to put them in their place if she hears it. :p

Considering they don't get along, it doesn't surprise me she wouldn't bring her up very often.

that's partially why i did the subvsdub videos...to know what's what with the subtitles & eng dub dialogue... what's the same in both sub & dub & what's not
plus it's fun to do those

That's a really smart idea rewatching and comparing the sub and dub to learn the differences so you don't copy either one too closely! And yeah, I'm sure it's also just fun haha. :p
I might be able offer alternative lines for certain moments you find yourself having a hard time with, but I wouldn't worry too much about that stuff at the moment anyway. Just getting all the artwork and main plot points finished is the most important thing right now, even if you need to just use placeholder dialog until you can fix it later.

well.... there IS a spin-off that kanzaka & co made... the lost universe... it's said to be sorta connected to slayers Try.... its sister-season, if you will :3
though, one down-side to it: no lina & co in it.... that's why i don't watch it....

It might be a good series on it's own, though. And maybe if you watch it, you'll like some of the characters enough to get inspiration for Paprika's story too! Just a thought since you seem to really enjoy all of Slayers, and that series being directly connected to the universe as a whole.

Pikachu's face in the clip looks more like it's saying 'what'd you just say about me?', it doesn't look angry specifically, maybe 'surprise-annoyed' like if he heard something rude said about him but it was said unintentionally.

Heart's expressions look lovely! ^^ Though, her 'yelling' mouth on the bottom-left pannel looks like it needs to be mirrored. It's facing the same way Misty's mouth is from the inspiration picture, and Misty is looking the opposite way Heart is, so it looks out of place. Flipping it around to match the direction Heart is facing will fix that right up!

I can see how the body shape of a fly would be pretty hard to draw in all the same style poses a human-like character can do would be really difficult. But you're doing a really solid job with what you have to work with! I do want to ask you, though. Souta was originally made for your earlier designed Paprika story, even I think before she was called Paprika, though I could be wrong on the exact timing he first came to be. My point is this, though. You made him that way for the old plot that had her sister in it, but that's been changed to now closely follow Slayers, so maybe Souta doesn't need to stay a fly after all? Since Paprika's younger sister doesn't even exist anymore, you could change Souta into something easier to draw that might even better match Xellos.

It looks really good on it's own! Though I'm not 100% sure what the context is for Lina, it looks like maybe if you gave Paprika a little head sweat like this 😅 emote it might shift the energy to fit Lina's a bit closer without having to mess with Paprika's body differences.

Yeah... I agree with them looking emotionless on Coton before. Cloud's were 'okay' before, but her new ones are a big improvement, and that's no different for Coton's new eyes as well. She looks really nice now!

It was certainly very annoying to find out... >.> But I'll manage. I did forget some of what I'd said before, and condensed down a couple of parts, but I just wanted to catch back up, especially after how much I'd lost. Here's everything replied to from the previous page at least (or my previous page, not sure if you have the same posts-per-page settings I do or not, but that's where it cuts off for me). I'll re-add and reply to all the stuff on this page in my next one. (so this is now like a 'Part 2 of 3' haha 😅)

Souta was originally made for your earlier designed Paprika story, even I think before she was called Paprika, though I could be wrong on the exact timing he first came to be. My point is this, though. You made him that way for the old plot that had her sister in it, but that's been changed to now closely follow Slayers, so maybe Souta doesn't need to stay a fly after all? Since Paprika's younger sister doesn't even exist anymore, you could change Souta into something easier to draw that might even better match Xellos.
