Luckiest generation for shinies

Title says it all really; What has been the luckiest, or perhaps the most lucrative generation for you for encountering shiny Pokémon?

My last shiny Pokémon was a Magikarp in Omega Ruby. With the introduction of chain fishing you're probably thinking that's not too impressive well au contraire. It was caught in a Premier Ball on the first encounter of a new 'square'. I was fishing for Staryu to add to my team during the playthrough and encountered the shiny beast that is Magikarp. Little did I remember, Staryu is available with the Super Rod in Lilycove, not a Good Rod.

I have encountered a shiny Magikarp in every generation randomly except Generation 5. I am rather proud of that.

How about HeartGold in general? I've found 3 shinies in that game compared to only 1 per any other game I've encountered one in (including a shiny Zubat I found in Union Cave last night).

Most games I usually only find 1 or 2 shinies, but in Diamond I got a whopping 3 shinies (sadly only one of them was a Pokemon I liked) but that record got broken in X when I caught a massive 7 shinies. Somehow X/Y was extremely generous to me so I'm gonna say that.

If i remember correctly, I encountered a shiny Taillow in Pokemon Emerald when i was leveling up my pokemon. It was the first ever shiny i have. 8)

Generally 6th gen has the highest chance of catching Shiny Pokemon being 1/4096. Add the Shiny Charm and Masuda Method and there you have it, you can breed lots of Shiny Pokemon per WEEK if you're lucky enough.

Depending on how you look at it, the 3rd gen is either my luckiest or unluckiest for shiny Pokemon. All but one of the shiny Pokemon I've caught over the years have come from Sapphire, but the 2 shiny Pokemon that I found in Fire Red came under odd circumstances that prevented me from catching them. The first was a shiny Weedle that showed up during the tutorial where the old man in Viridian teaches you how to catch Pokemon, and the other was a Shiny Paras in the Safari Zone, when I only had one Safari Ball left (and it failed).

Definitely 6th Gen for me. In X I ended up finding 2 shinies in the same chain while chain fishing, and in Omega Ruby I've found about 4 while Dex Nav chaining.

Before then the only shiny I found was a Golbat in Diamond so yeah, Gen 6 has definitely made shiny finding a lot easier imo :)
