Man claims he will burn Koran in lieu of 9/11

At least someone here understands the consequences. I agree with this. I don't see what that guy will win personally because if that's what he calls revenge, it's ridiculous. I bet he's really ignorant.
 
I never usually reply to these threads, but nobody seems to get outraged when people protest and burn the American flag, sometimes even on US soil, but our sad liberal news media acts like one man burning the Qu'ran is really that big of a deal.

I'm all for equal rights and freedoms, but America is literally so twisted with how it represents our so-called freedoms that it's sickening. People are forced to take down crosses on their private property because it "offends" someone, even when its for a child that was killed in a car accident. It's just a joke what this country has turned into. So if the guy wants to burn the Qu'ran, then more power to him. It's his "choice" to burn it and if it offends a country full of radical Islam extremists, then good.

Despite this, I am aware that not every Muslim is a terrorist, so he's wrong on that. But like I said, nobody seems to care when crosses or our flag get burned and treated with disrespect, so why should anyone care about this either. :|

I see what you mean, but I have to say that Americans somewhat looked for it. Of course not all American citizen are the same, but the image that America gives to the rest of the world isn't that great, so we think bad of them. This is actually a good example here. Americans and Muslims are both victims of their image. I don't hate Americans though because I know that they don't all think the same, but people who have been involved a lot in wars against Muslim countries, such as George Bush and Tony Blair, really did make America's image worse, and I feel sorry for them. But there is so much misunderstanding in the world that it's hard to realize that not all Americans are to be blamed, just as how not all Muslims are to be blamed either.

But I read Barack Obamas statement in the newspaper yesterday or 2-3 days ago. He said that the action of this man will only make Al-Kaida stronger/mad.

And that man is really stupid. Not all people are the same. There will be always one - and a lot more - who are different from the others.

What happened, just happened. It`s sad that 3012 people died because of that accident. You can`t make it good by burning the korean - you just make it worse.
 
Well, I guess that means that you don`t believe in god or any religion.

The korean, bible and thora are holy books. Doing something bad to a holy thing isn`t very good/clever. That`s logical.

It's not the action, it's the message behind the action. It's saying "I don't respect your beliefs and you're all extremist bastards who deserve to burn in hell" :/

Basically what the posts above say, and the fact that Muslims are very religious and that the Quran is a very important symbol for them. Also they wouldn't consider it as a "book". I don't know if all Atheists can understand it, but it is a sign of provocation and doing this will also endanger America even more because it is provocation to the terrorists and Muslims so it will make the "war" of terrorists and Muslims vs. America worse. That's what so OMG-ish about it.

It should be something like 4-6 AM in america now.
I`m a lil bit worried (even if I don`t live in america) because if a terror attack follows the next days/weeks/months in america from Al-Kaida then some people might criticise him/his action.

Well good if they do. At least people will realize how stupid of an idea it is to burn the Quran. I hope that Al-Qaida does something about it if the does burn the Quran to be honest. It would only serve him right. I mean they don't need to kill more innocents or anything, but if they could do something bad to the guy it would be good. I know revenge isn't good and blah blah blah but seriously the guy is looking for it.
 
Yeah. Before you plan to do something, you have to think about the consequences. And yeah, as I said...it`s not a joke to burn a holy thing. Your actions tell a message to the other people. Now what message? Well...everybody interprets it in his own way, but I`m sure most people will say "He hates the Quran". He`s doing it as a revenge for the 9/11, but still... a) I`m not happy with this and b) He`ll get some troubles.
 
Dude, no it's not. Think of it as this guy is a bully, and Islam is a nerd. If the nerd doesn't fight back, the bully will keep coming back right?

That's why even the smallest of things can trigger a bombshell, except Islam mind you is very peaceful. We never start fights. Someone else always does, and so we end up fighting.

If we cast this aside, it will only get worse and worse until we end up killing someone. That's why the USA has to arrest this guy for discrimination, which is a crime right? So if this guy doesn't go to jail or at least get a fine BEFORE burning the Qur'an then it will promote other people to do this, thinking their government is either too weak or agrees with them. Believe me, I know this kind of stuff because I had to survive high school and my home, so I had to master the human mind. If that man burns a book, it's over.

Which is why America has to get off of it's lazy ass and show the people yes you have freedom of speech and stuff, but we're still your government, so even if you say this is a freedom of speech we'll arrest you because this is a blatant act of intolerance to a religion. If America doesn't do that, don't expect me to live here any longer. I'm not gonna get caught in a warzone.

two wrongs do not make a right (3 lefts do). I think he wants a violent response I believe he will use any violent response as proof to his twisted and idiotic point. if he is harmed he most likely will be. It will cause all the backwoods Christian zealots go ape S**** crazy. and cause major controversy that really don't want to hear about for the next 3 weeks (unless Mel or Tiger do something), so how about the Islamic Community fight fire with fire and burn a stack of Bibles. @インフェルノの津波 while I do believe that he should be prevented from doing this legally he can't be arrested until he lights the fire but the act will be done by then and the fuse lit. Mainly because of the Republican Conservative tea party $^*&^(*&)'s who will go crazy if one of their own has any of their "rights" taken away.

I'm starting to get tired of these idiots running the world. What ever happened to the smart intelligent people who knew if they did this they would have a bullet through they're head? I mean seriously, is this guy even thinking about what might happen to him, let alone America.

And the law should really tell this guy to stop. If the president is anywhere near smart or has some insight, then he'll know that A) Muslims, particularly those in Islamic countries will not tolerate this, and B) this could end badly for a lot of people. But since he hasn't shown any movement yet, then I'll say that once again that our president is either a weakling, so much so that he can't control his own people(well, I can't really blame him, the guy barely has any power.) through his words. In other words, President Obama has lost my respect. And the US government as well, because they can barely control the US anymore. Why do you think drugs and alcohol are being used to the point of addiction? Because the US government isn't holding the reins of power long enough.

A long time ago I would disagree with myself, but now I know that America can't be like this forever, because it will die if it hasn't already done so.

Umm that's what I meant, I don't really care if books are burned but why the hell burn them. I still don't know what's the book's fault or anything.. It's just a stupid/disrespectful act to burn a book..

In Islam, the Qu'ran is the only book NEVER tampered with. The way you're seeing it now is the way you're seeing as it was a millenia ago.

And shall I ask you to google rules of using/keeping the Qu'ran? Our book gets more respect than a person.

The American Government Laws are based on freedom plus what if this guy was in Mexico or Canada the whole of america has opposed this guy from the start they can't just march down there and execute the fool.
It has always surprised me how two religions that came from roughly the same area can hate each other so much as I have no Deity can someone tell me why this is?

Terry Jones just state burning Canceled on the today show so it was more than likely the CIA saying do you want to see the inside of a black bag ? No? Okay then
