Map Name: Dont worry :)
Notes: The black spots are where tiles haven't been inserted.
Credits: Kyledove - Tiles and the palettes I editted.

Spoiler:

Map Shape: I don't like square maps (especially if they're big). And the trees are too symmetrical 3/5
Errors: Haven't found any. 5/5
Emptiness: You should fill up more space with big trees, and delete some of the flowers. 3.7/5
Comment: It's not bad, but I wouldn't say it's perfect. Like I said before, I hate the trees. They're too symmetrical. I would give this map a 3.9/5

Total: 11.7/15

Notes: I'm not good at mapping lardge areas, so be kind.
Credits - Kyledove for the tiles, me for the pallettes.


I've got to put it as an attachment, as images don't work...

Also, my view on mapping is you need some free space to walk, a game isn't fun when you only have one tile walking space. Plus, on the actual game play basis, I reckon there should be flowers visible everywhere, it adds difference everywhere, plus theyre supposed to be bunched up cause you don't see single flowers five thousand kilometres away.

But I did notice an error! :P
The large building has a tile error in the right side.

But I do reckon I need to fill up the spaces a bit.

please dont argue with people about their oppinions, it makes no sense^^
but i agree, all in all the shape is not square, but its just a cricle, thats a bit boring
about the free space thing, i agree with both of you, some maps need much free space, others dont need
in your cause i think the space could be filled slightly better, but not much

You're new to mapping, so you expect much criticism, right?
First of all, the shape is awful. Try not making the map very square.
There are many tile errors, and the bridge that connects land, to the mountain is all wrong, and not good. The houses are done very badly. There are a lot of empty spaces, and the map is big for nothing. The sea is pretty useless. The map overall, is not well done. But keep practicing.

I suggest you fix what I told you, and redo a map, without the mountain at the right. Try looking at some tutorials, or just scatter around here a bit, and see some maps that are rated good.

Rating: Nothing really, until you redo it.

A few tile errors, but overall it's pretty good. It's square-ish, so that's a let-down and I don't really like the lack of Honey trees (yes, I use them as funny cameos), but I give it a 87.3/100, which is an A.

Thanks for the rating. I don't see any tile errors. Think you could point them out for me?

I would have honey trees but it is the first route so the player has not even come into contact with honey yet.

In the meantime I might as well do a rate.

This is the only map that was recently posted that seemed to be ignored. So I'll do a rate for you Turtwigtoon!

Rating: 3/10 - Bad

Comments: The map is extremely square in some areas. Avoid lining up trees unless it is just a barrier that the player will not see. Try not to make only one path to the exit unless it is a small route. In your case, it is a big route, so try to make a minimum of two paths to the exit. Don't use city signs on a forest or route. Use only the wooden ones. There are 5 wooden signs, the maximum you should have is two. Don't have dirt paths connect to wild grass, it looks bad. The grass to the left of the entrance is pointless. Erase that grass and try to put it to better use somehow.

Rating: 87/100 (B+)

Comments: Wow. This map is amazing. The mountain is the absolute best part. It has a great shape. The single tile ledges bug me as do the water tiles. You really don't need rocks in such a small pond.

Suggestions: Remove the one tile ledges. Get a better autotile for the water (one that does not look so still). Remove the rocks inside of the water. I would also suggest making a small piece of land to host a Pokeball that they have to Surf over to get.

Comments: I am not a big fan of the tiles you inserted. I have seen them used before and they really aren't the prettiest things I have ever seen. The mountain has a nice shape and I cannot see any tile errors. The bench is awkwardly placed. Something just doesn't feel right about the map. Can't quite put my finger on it. It is still a nice map though.

Suggestions: Remove the bench. I suggest only using those in cities. Can't really think of anything else.

well this is a great map !
but i dont like the shape of the puntains (give them more shape),and i would give that house without a door a door.

oh and there is a tile error at the bottom.

i give this a 7.8/10 - good map !

The map is actually pretty good. I really like it. I don't care if anyone says that Neti's rom bases is "overused". I like the ROM base.
There are a couple of tile errors, and add more trees near the path at the bottom. I don't like how the small trees are lined up vertically.
