Event: Marathon in a Month - 2021

Okay so, rain + finals week is making progress a bit hard to come by. Still, on the 5th I walked a today of 4.4 miles, yesterday I walked 2.1 miles and today I walked 2.6 miles.

Making it a grand total of 26.5 / 25

So yay, I guess I completed my goal in a week? That's neat.

Let's see how far we can go before the month's over.

I exhaustedly ran 2.61 miles today (don't drink energy drinks, they are bad for you), making it 9.9 miles out of 140.6 miles that I've done so far. I'll be walking a *lot* tomorrow and will record that to hopefully make up for it.
Spoiler:
Walked 7.83 miles today while volunteering all day at a charity store, making my total 17.73 miles out of 140.6 miles. That's more like it!

I've been trying to walk almost every day and today was actually my longest only because the river flooded part of our walk route so we had to take a detour.

I'm up to 12.22 outta 50 miles.

So this is a bit of a big update....
Last Saturday, I walked 4.87 miles for more volunteering... Then yesterday, I ran 3.05 miles... And today... I biked 10.14 miles! (this was a learning experience for me as I had a few issues with FitBit tracking me on the trip back home). That's 18.06 miles total since Saturday. Now I'm 35.79 miles out of 140.6 miles (25%), and the fun begins! Yay....

I'm up to 19.18 outta 50.

I wasn't able to get much walking in this past week with trying to help my friend get better after a really bad ear infection.

It's been a while, I guess.

So, on the 8th, I walked a total of 3.9 miles.
On the 9th, I walked 4.1 miles.
On the 10th, I walked 2.8 miles.
On the 11th, I walked 4.4 miles.
On the 12th, I walked 3.3 miles and I haven't really walked significant distances since (although that will probably change this week since things are a lot calmer now and I can go back to my routine.)

This makes for a total of 45 / 25.

Okay, so, on the 18th I walked 8.7 miles.
On the 19th I walked 3.9 miles.
On the 20th I walked 1.1 miles.
On the 21st I walked 1.9 miles.
On the 22nd I walked 4.3 miles.
And today I walked 5 miles.

Making that a total of 69.9 / 25 miles. I don't think I'll be able to make 100 but I think something like high 80s is certainly feasible.

I'm up to 37.5 miles out of 50. Tuesday made me wanna break my legs off after Mikey and I went down to Detroit to walk the riverfront to play Pokémon. That was almost 5 miles right there. I've been getting little over 2 miles of walking in a day because he drags me outta the house and we usually walk around the park to play Pokémon.

Walked an extra 6.8 miles today!

For a total of 76.7 / 25 miles.

Edit: Walked 5.2 miles on the 25th and 4 miles on the 26th bumping the total to 85.9 / 25 miles.

Edit2: Walked 6.6 miles on the 27th, so we can bump that total to 92.5 / 25 miles.

My leg didn't want to help these last few days so I didn't do a lot of walking, so here are the last few distances I walked:

On the 28th I walked a total of 2.9 miles.
On the 29th I walked a total of 2 miles.

Making my grand total for the month 97.4 / 25

Kinda sad I didn't break 100, but considered there was the end of the term and a lot of rain, I think it was actually a pretty decent showing.

I came up with 45.8 out of 50. Kinda upset I didn't hit 50 but I still managed to do more walking than I thought I would. I feel like if I still worked at Round 1 I would have had a lot more walking in.

I could not get my phone to count steps correctly when I have it in my pocket, but luckily my girlfriend's does just fine. And since we work together for majority of the week, I could keep track of how many steps I approximately took. Not only that, but we also play Pokémon GO together, so I could track my steps better.

In the end, I walked around 46 miles in October. I really have to fix my phone, because I'm so used to track my steps nowdays that I'm nervous when I see only 100 steps taken per day.

Since this post, I decided to let my FitBit keep recording data from my activities. The graphs and activity tickers display weirdly on the app and the website, and they completely omit what I did on the 15th and 16th. Thankfully, I exported all the hard data from the website..

So, without further ado, I'll begin by listing stuff from after my bikeride on the 12th...

Wednesday, 13 October: Rode 10.68 miles on my bike
Friday, 15 October: I ran 3.1 miles, and I'm proud about this run: I had about a 7'45" mile pace on this even while running more up hills, which was loads better than how I did on Monday.
Saturday, 16 October: I rode my bike 10.29 miles early in the morning. Felt pretty comfortable with riding at this point.
Monday, 18 October: I decided to ride an indoor bike at the gym for 12.41 miles. Sadly the bikes don't connect up to Fitbit, so I had to manually record it. But I did get some reading in which was kinda cool, and I got done earlier too.
Tuesday, 19 October: I rode indoors again for 15.58 miles. This was really an efficient way to get the miles in, but I didn't feel quite so challenged...
Friday, 22 October: ....so because I didn't feel quite so challenged earlier in the week, I decided to ride my bike on Friday evening for 31.71 miles outside. That was brutal. I flopped indoors and almost didn't go volunteer or swimming on Saturday.
Tuesday, 26 October: I had a good few days of recovery after Friday, so I rode indoors for 12 miles.
Wednesday, 27 October: I was almost at the end for the amount of cycling I needed to finish, so I decided to go cycle 10.2 miles outdoors and knock out my 110 mile goal for cycling. I couldn't let it get to my head though, because I had rowing next...
Thursday, 28 October: I went to a gym and rowed for 7 miles (11266 meters). Next time I go rowing for this long, I'll bring gloves. I still have blisters on my hands... But I was finally done with my "triathlon" goals of biking, running, and rowing (substituted for swimming)!

So, after my last post reaching the "milestone" of 35.79 miles, I cranked out 112.97 miles, bringing my total to the month of 148.79 miles (113.01 miles biked, 28.78 miles ran/walked, and 7 miles rowed), a bit more than the 140.6 miles that I set as a goal. Whoo.
