3rd Gen Maxie/Archie's Past

Now we all know that Maxie's and Archie's plan to drain the world of all water and to flood the whole world with water wasn't one of the greatest idea in the world.But what do you think happened in their past to make them hate water(Maxie) and land(Archie) so much?Maybe something happened to them while they were children or maybe their love for the Legendary Groudon and Kyogre clouded their judgement.What are your thoughts about their past?

Personally, I believe that Archie's family all had some kind of seafaring career (most likely pirates) and he learned of Kyogre at a young age. Eventually, i will make a game for RPG Maker VX Ace that goes a bit in depth about that as a side quest.

I think Maxie has a twisted past. In pokemon emerald he is always so angry and always battles you.

Whereas Archie is more laid back and it isn't until you force him into a corner he finally battles you.
