Mega evolutions would be a great outlet for gym leaders during rematches post-game. Roxanne would get Aggron, Brawley Medicham, Wattson Manectric, and the list would go on. I would really like to see that, adds an extra challenge to one of my favorite parts of the original Hoenn games. A few more Hoenn megas would have to be released to make this a possibility, but I wouldn't say it's a crazy theory by any means.

Mega Aggron doesn't fit Roxanne since it's pure steel. It'll feel wrong to give Roxanne a Mega that ditches her specialty. Mega Aerodactyl would fit her better (she had the other two Kanto fossils in Emerald during the rematches) Medicham could work for Brawly considering he had one in the rematches irc. I'll honestly perfer they aces get Megas as that'll be like Steven using Mega Aggron rather than getting a Mega Metagross. Or Wallace using Mega Gyarados instead of Mega Milotic.

Since I brought up Mega Aerodactyl do you think ORAS will introduce a Mega for a fossil Pokémon or "living fossil" for Relicanth and "re-engineered fossil" for Genosect. Or will they possibly give them Primal Reversions.

That's true, although when listing those I was mostly looking for Hoenn mega evolutions to correspond with the gym leaders, and Aggron was the closest one that came to mind. However, Aerodactyl would most definitely fit her better, especially if you look at her gym redesign's focus on fossils, haha. If each leader doesn't need a Hoenn mega, of course they could branch out to other regions like Wallace getting Gyarados, as you said. I'd love to see them use Mega evolutions like this, they seem perfect for such a role. :]

I feel like they won't give Pokemon with a Mega evolution a Primal Reversion as well, seems to be going a bit overboard. However, Relicanth is totally viable, in my opinion, as well as Pokemon like Cradily and Armaldo. Right now, I'm leaning towards them keeping Primal forms exclusive to Kyogre and Groudon, but we'll just have to wait and see.

You could argue all Fossil mons would get a Reversion and I'm nooot prepared for all that @_@

The new mega evolution On OmegaRuby & Alpha Sapphire is probably Mega Swampert, Mega Mightyena, Mega Armaldo, Mega Latios, Mega Rayquaza,Mega Groudon,Mega Kyogre, and last, Mega Deoxys.

In my opinion, yes, there will be a new Mega Evolutions on Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire.

EDIT: Well, mega Swampert is actually confirmed, but when I was typing that before I wasn't open the Post about OR-AS speculation.

I really don't see them making Fossil Pokemon have Primal Reversion. If anything it will be legendary-exclusive or just exclusive to Groudon and Kyogre.

I honestly can't stop laughing thinking what Mega Wailord would look like. I'd love Mega Zangoose.

I'm not down for applying a whole bunch of brand new forms and things to Pokemon - Mega Evolution was a stretch for me once it was given to Pokemon outside of XY. I'm not against it, just against making it a focal point of the games. In any case, I agree that it'll likely be exclusive to Groudon/Kyogre.

mega wailord oh my god

I'm on the train with Ante and Kouzan about there being a lacking of Primal Reversion Pokemon in the future. I just can't see that becoming a staple really...

But then again I said that about Mega Evolution in general and look where we are. >v>;

I suppose I'm even more opposed to Primal Reversion being more common though? I mean I can see legendaries having a more primal state, but fossil Pokemon were fossilized in their 'primest' forms really. You can't go back much further in time than that. We've already got Aerodactyl showing off a Mega Evolution afterall. I don't think they would give him both forms, you know? That would be absolutely nuts!

.. Also pls no on Mega Wailord. ;A;

This PRIMAL stuff is specific to Groudon and Kyogre, and we will never see its like again.

Really? I'd have to argue with that point. I mean as well as you said we may never see it in another game again we would most definately see it in at least one or two other pokemon.
Rayquaza being the most likely to have this type of option.
And who knows The Regi's are mostly from around the same time as Groudon and Kyogre so maybe they will see some optional changes.

Just a cute little detail, but I saw someone elsewhere point out that Maxie's glasses have 3 circles on each side, similar to Camerupt's side-markings. And Archie has a dark star-like scar/marking on his face, similar to the star on Sharpedo's head!

The way Steven's sleeves get wider at the bottom reminds me of Metagross's Beldum-legs, so I expect to see them gain that sort of cool crown-like pattern Steven has on his cuffs.

Will their base stats be the same or different?

Are you referring to the Mega evolutions or Primal form Kyogre and Groudon? With Mega evolutions, they always receive a 100 BST boost, which can be distributed in any way. For Primal Reversion, not too much is known about it specifically, but Pokemon's official ORAS website claims that Kyogre will get a boosted special attack stat, and Groudon a boosted attack stat. Also, Groudon gains Fire-typing when he devolves.
