0_o Rei is right, Grass/Dragon has no 4x electric weakness. Quite the opposite it has a resistance that allows it to take only 1/4 damage from electric moves.

Lightning rod tends to be on most Pokémon that either resist or don't take damage from electric moves due to their typing. Honestly I think the only one who benefits from it the most is Seaking.

I am pretty sure it is to resist Thunder Wave which restricts Sceptile's Speed also :)

With thunder wave and it not being affected by spore and powder moves not much things will slow it down. It's typingsrelation ship with the Lighting (electric)- Fire- and ice trio is interesting. It takes 1x damage to fire, 1/4 damage against electric (not counting ability), and 4x against ice. Ironically it's weak against the other types of the legendary Trios with those types (Flying for Bird Trio and Dragon for Tao Trio). If it's fast and strong it'll be a great counter against Zekrom which lacks the high special attack of Reshiram to take advantage of the strongest Dragon move. Against Reshiram it'll have trouble unless it can take it down fast. Against Kyurem...yeah it may not last long. Btw now that it has dragon it can stab destroy those pesky Dragon/Flying types who have a 4x resistance against it's native grass stab. I hope Mega Sceptile is fast so it can potentially sweep.

I just realized that both Mega Sceptile and Mega Swampert (well normal Swampert does too) both have 4x weakness, but aren't affected by electric moves. Only Mega Blaziken lacks a 4x weakness.

When did Grass and Dragon types even turned weak against Electric?
In Inverted battles, the weaknesses of all Pokemon are turned into resistances and vice versa. Therefore, Mega Sceptile gets a x4 weakness to Electric, which gets nullified by Lightningrod.

It would be cool if Secptile seed release energy that let it fly a little allowing it to move even faster.
Like a Bullet Train Or Magnet Train ! You see Those train doesn't run , They fly .
Or
Sceptlie's seed release energy that accelerate Secptlie Speed .

Sceptile has always had those seeds. Not sure if they'll play a role like it's tail. Hey wouldn't it be awesome if GF not only gave Groudon and Kyogre (and possibly Rayquaza too) signatures move but gave the Mega Hoenn starters new signature moves too? Swampert could have a physical water move that's stronger than Waterfall and Aqua Tail. Blaziken could have one that involves a speedy animation, maybe a fire version of Extreme speed if it involves priority speed. Sceptile could get one involving it's cutable tail.

A STAB priority move for Mega Blaziken? That scares me to no end! Signature moves for the trio would be nice, especially if they covered their niches, like Swampert's physical bulk and Sceptiles' speed combined with its new tail missile. With the 3D graphics, it would probably look amazing, haha. :]

I do hope they don't go overboard with the whole Mega Evolutions in ORAS. I would like to see a few more, perhaps 4 or 5 but not that many. Mega Chimecho, Mega Shiftry, Mega Ludicolo, Mega Sharpedo & Mega Camerupt are my predictions/wants.

I don't think the starters will have new signature moves

Before gen 4, in gen 3, the starters USED TO HAVE SIGNATURE MOVES :

- Only Grovyle and Sceptile can learn LEAF BLADE

- Only Blaziken (not Combusken) can learn BLAZE KICK

- Only Mashtomp and Swampert can learn MUDDY WATER

But you may have already known that :)

Btw, finally, the weather trio will have their signature moves

1 Mega Ludicolo "Fur Coat" for Defense, or maybe Keep Swift Swim
2 Mega Shiftry "Protean" would fit his Tengu Theme
3 Mega Slaking "Infiltrator" doesn't increase damage, but does make him better at attacking.
4 Mega Claydol. "Filter", or keep Levitate (Although, all Claydol needs is Recover)

Speculation Ludicolo Mega Stats
Spoiler:

Fur coat seems like it'll fit nicely with Ludicolo. Maybe Shiftry will get it too as it has all that "fur" on it's back. However Protean will also benefit it by allowing it to take advantage of it's diverse typed movepool. Imagine sending out Machamp and getting STABed Extrasensoried to death...

Infiltrator Choice Band Slaking would such a ♥♥♥♥♥. Protean Shiftry would be awesome with a Speed and offense boost! Hopeful now haha

It's a good thing then that the Mega Stone won't allow it to be holding Choice band then :P Or any other item...

I'm actually really expecting Mega Zangoose and Mega Seviper to be a thing.

I don't know why but the fact that they're both really popular and happen to be a rivalry duo just kind of screams 'possible megas' to me.

I could see some more Gen 2 and maybe 4 and 5 megas. I really want my Mega Mismagius and maybe get Mega Honchkrow since they seems to be counterparts, they were version exclusives for FRLG.

Does anyone think Dusknoir will even get a Mega?
Though his counterpart is seemingly Banette, and whilst Banette did get a Mega, she didn't get a further evolution in Gen 4.
Your thought?

To me, they gave a Mega evolution to Banette in order to compensate for its counterpart, Dusclops, getting an actual evolution in fourth generation. They also did something like this in Gardevoir's case, except a bit different in that it's the same line, but male Ralts eventually became Gallade fourth generation, and Gardevoir was left in the dust. Doesn't make it impossible, but I doubt Dusknoir gets a Mega.

Except Gardevoir and Gallade are the same stage in their (split) line as third stage Pokemon. I think that Dusknoir may get a Mega. It could be more defensive and get an ability like cursed body. Also Gallade should get it's Mega to match it's counterpart's Mega Gardevoir.

Btw I think Dustox should get a 10 point boost since Beautifly got one along with the two getting Megas.

Hopefully they would satiate all counterpart megas like they did with Sableye, but I wouldn't want to see a Dusknoir one tbh. Dusknoir itself is an evolved form of Dusclops, and it's bad enough that Banette didn't get the same.

I totally agree that Gallade should get one, because at the time he was introduced there were barely two physical psychic moves and Gardevoir is now a Fairy-type, so she's got a boost again. Gallade's mega doesn't have to change much, though.
