The long awaited and hyped sequel to the Call of Duty franchise is set to be on store shelves November 8th, 2011. What sort of things do you expect/want to see included in MW3? What needs to be done differently from Black Ops, or vice-versa? Will you get MW3, or just wait fro another future game, why or why not? Discuss anything and everything pertaining to Modern Warfare 3.
I've never played Battlefield, or anything in the game series, so I can't really say anything negative, or biased about it. But anyway, I wouldn't say I'm too excited about this game, but it seems like it will be good I guess. What I want to see is zombies and special ops return to this. It'd be nice to see soething about Element 115 return into the game, and I did quite enjoy the Special Ops of MW2. What I'm saying is that the game seems like it needs more definitive team games, such as those. Not like you're fighting against one another like in the multiplayer modes.

I'm looking forward to it. On the graphics side of everything, it's a damn shame that they didn't seem to improve one bit from MW2. Sure, the MW2 graphics were nice and all, but some improvement would have been fantastic. In comparison to Battlefield 3, this looks rather sub-par. I hope they keep working on tweaking the graphics in some fashion before the release date.
If the music from this trailer is anything to go on, then I'm hoping this soundtrack will be superior to MW2. Anyone know if Hans Zimmer is the composer for this as well? Don't feel like looking it up. He was a great addition to the playing experience in MW2.
Oh and it's nice to finally get some officialness to the whole "WW3" plot, which many were theorizing about. I always enjoy MW campaigns, as short as they are. I'm getting the feeling I'll enjoy this one too. I can't wait to see some multiplayer videos in the future.

I didn't like Black Ops, so I'm hoping this will be a little better. At least enough to keep me interested for more than a month, or for more than 2 prestiges.
Oh yeah. I really hope they do some good things in multiplayer. Get rid of ghost, second chance (last stand) and don't bring anything stupid back into it from MW2. Like stopping power. They should make the guns do the same damage as stopping power but in MW2 you can almost say you had 2 perk slots.
I also hope objective games don't affect K/D. Then maybe we'll keep people who want good K/D's out of dom, demo and CTF.
I'll be getting MW3, at the very least for the campaign. I think the trailer was nice, I liked the part where it said "WW3" and then the logo flipped. When I first saw the trailer at the end it said "WW3" and I'm thinking "That logo doesn't look right" and then it started flipping and that's when it hit me. I think it was nice, but my all time fav trailer goes to a MW2 trailer. Infamy, I don't think there will be another CoD trailer as epic as that one, the music, what went on in the trailer, and most of all showing DC.
I personally don't think (at least in my book) that the campaign will top MW2's. I said it before when I finished it a year and a half ago and I'll say it again... MW2 had the best singleplayer campaign of any shooter I played. I really loved the story, the plot, the characters, the levels, the surprises, and so on and so on. I think Black Ops tried to copy that but it just wasn't as good...
But will MW3 top MW2's story?... I don't see how, but that's just me.
Here's some things that I'd like to see changed/added/removed in MW3. If you (this isn't pointed at you Live, as in anyone who reads this) don't like them then... whatever... this is just my personal views that I'd like to see done, we all have our own likes and dislikes and so here's mine.
It's a pretty long list so thus spoilers.
~ From Black Ops to MW3

- Theater mode
I want theater to return to CoD games. It took them long enough to get it in a CoD game... Halo 3 had it and that game came out before CoD4. I think time prevented it from being in CoD4, but no excuse for WaW and MW2. So I think it should (and I think it will) return to MW3. But this time have it work right and not some half broken thing that works only when it wants to (I've had it happen where for like 10 games in a row it didn't record, the games showed up in my last played list in my Combat Record, but they weren't in the viewing parts).
- Combat Training
I don't use Combat Training, but I think it's a nice add-on to help new people to the series or people who aren't that good. But sadly most people won't use that tool and they'll go to multiplayer, get the tar beat out of them, drag the team down, and if they get a message from someone like me they'll reply with words such as "u", "r", a few misspelled cuss words and say something about my mother. They could have went to Combat Training, got used to the game and then go to multiplayer. It would have helped them out, would have helped the team out, would have helped everyone.
- Combat Record
This was done right and this really needs to come over to MW3. You can check people's K/D, you can check their W/L, you can check what their fav weapon is, you can check what weapons they use the most, their K/Ds with each weapon and killstreak and so on. This is a really nice tool that I really hope stays from now on. In the past CoD games I heard people go "Well my K/D is ..." and they aren't showing it in games we're playing. And I can't check to see if they're lying or not because you can only check people on your friends list. But in Black Ops people will go "Lets check to see what the K/Ds are for these guys, they made top of the list.... damn... this dude has a 3.30 K/D.... and that one over there has a 3.40.". It's out there for all to see, and I can also see who's bad in the room so if they end up on my team I might have to step it up a little to cover for them. The only change I'd make is I'd have it viewable right off the bat, I wouldn't have it where you got to wait until level 13 (I think it's 13) to be able to see their stats. There is no point in not being able to see someone's stats.
- Buying attachments
I love the idea of buying an attachment for a weapon. Why should I have to get this number of kills with the weapon just to use a red dot? Why do I have to get this number of kills with this attachment to get that attachment? The way I see it... if I have the weapon I should have to use it just to get the attachment I want for it?
~ From MW2 to MW3

- Stopping Power
I know it was nice to free up that space and have other uses for that spot. But with the removal of Stopping Power it messed things up... as in Ghost. I know some people will say "Just remove Ghost" well I believe stealth has a place in the game. But at the same time I believe that if you want stealth you lower your chances of winning a gun fight with someone. In Black Ops you could have your cake and eat it too with Ghost... I think it should go back to the old system of Stopping Power and Ghost in the same perk slot.
- Stackable killstreaks
In a way I miss them... in a way I don't. I guess the way to fix this is have Hardline Pro make killstreaks stackable. I think flipping a Care Package isn't all that good (I mean it's ok in Search, but TDM Hardline Pro is sort of useless).
- 10 Prestiges
Giving up my weapons and perks 15 times wasn't fun at all... And since the starter weapons were so bad on Black Ops (they weren't that bad in the past CoD games) every time I prestiged I wish I hadn't. Giving everything up 10 times is enough, you shouldn't make people do it 15 times.
- Shotguns working
A shotgun in Black Ops is... crap. Yes I know we can all get a few good games with it but for the most part they're crap. I hope shotguns are primaries like in Black Ops, but I hope they're as good in MW3 as they were in MW2. I had so much fun just running around with a SPAS because it was a good weapon and it worked. But if I try that in Black Ops I gimp myself so much using that broken weapon class.
- Tubes that work
Yes... I hope MW2 tubes come back. No I don't hope for OMA... but I do hope Danger Close returns. In Black Ops I'm sick of having to use 2 tubes to take out a camper when it only took 1 in MW2. Tubes have a place in the game and that's to take out campers... and if I'm having to waste 2 on one person then that isn't a good tool to fix the campers.
- The audio for sounds
One thing I miss from MW2 (and the past CoD games) is how good and how much of an advantage having a headset would give you over people who didn't have them. In MW2 you could hear people running without Ninja Pro, you could hear grass moving, and so on. In Black Ops they could be running without Ninja and you can't hear them until they're right on top of you. And I don't like that one bit. I know people without headsets are all happy, people with headsets no longer have that advantage. But I paid the money for one... I should be able to use it... I should be able to use that advantage. I wish it was like CoD4... if you ever played CoD4 with a headset and someone didn't have Ninja they were so loud, I want that in MW3.
~ Hope they remove

- All akimbo weapons
All of them... shotguns, SMGs, machine pistols, and handguns. Yes I'm sure they're fun to run around with... yes I've used them, but they're annoying. Who here has went up against the G18s, the Rafficas, the Rangers, the Python, and so on? iirc the Raffica has the same power as the M16, and since you have 2 it fires 6 shots and not 3. The Python only takes 2 shots to kill, and if they're akimbo... The Rangers will win an upclose fight any day of the week... and since you have 2... If you've ever used the G18 or gotten killed by them over and over you know how annoying they are.
- Most of the Killstreaks
Both MW2 and Black Ops had 15 killstreaks. I think things were more fun when things were more simple. Is Care Package needed? No... if you can't get a Chopper Gunner, or a Pave Low, or Dogs without getting the kills needed then you don't need to earn that killstreak. Is RC needed? No. Is Mortar Team needed? No. EMP, Nuke, Blackbird? No. Mark my words... MW3 will have over 15 killstreaks, they don't need more... they need less.
- The removal of the YY reload cancellation
That's right... I want to remove something they removed XD. And no, it wouldn't go under "add" because it was there at one time. For you that don't know in CoD4, WaW, MW2 (and for awhile at the start of Black Ops) if you were reloading and saw an enemy you could double tap Y and it'd stop the reload and you could try to kill that enemy with however many shots you had left in that clip. They removed this because they said some controllers used this to keep firing without reloading or something like that. I never had a prob with people like that but they saw it as a big enough prob to take this out and in the process hurt the players who used it.
- Weapons locking up
I've always liked semi auto assault rifles. In CoD4 I used the G3 until they slowed it down (due to modded controllers). In WaW I used the Gewehr, SVT, and the M1A1. In MW2 I would have liked to have used the FAL a lot more but it was broken from the start, but after I hit 10th prestige I went back and gave it another chance and I think it's on one of my classes now. But in Black Ops... if you shoot a weapon off too quick it'll lock up. The M14 and FAL (I'm sure others as well) will both lock up, you can't do anything but move around when it's locked up... can't keep shooting, can't switch weapons, and I think the knife also doesn't work. That's just stupid... I personally think if someone has to mod their console to get an advantage, or use a modded controller then they need to have their account perm banned. I know there's no way to say "Well you've got a mod and you don't" but still many of the probs is due to bad players using them "tools". I don't care if they can use their controller... I don't want my weapon locking up.
- Thermal
I don't want the white thermal from MW2, I don't want the blue thermal from Black Ops. If you can't see someone without using thermal then get a bigger TV.
- Secondary air support killer
I don't want Stingers, Strelas, AT4s, or LAWs... I don't want any secondary weapon as a lock on air support killer. If I earn a 9 or an 11 killstreak (and remember how said no Care Package? So thus they don't get it that way) I think the enemy team should suffer for 60 seconds or however long they stay up. In Black Ops since killstreaks don't stack how is it fair that I'm able to get a Chopper Gunner or Gunship and then have it shot down before I can get a shot off (I've used a Chopper Gunner before and it get shot down before or right when the door opens... has happened many times)? Or do like we did in the days of CoD4, pull out an RPD with Double Tap or try to hit it with RPGs (if you can hit it with an RPG then good, it's not a lock on weapon), or get in doors until it leaves. Or how about this... make Sam Turret the only lock on air support killer? You want to take down that chopper... run Sam Turret. It takes a killstreak to take out a killstreak.
- Last Stand/Second Chance
If you can't kill while running around then you don't deserve the kill dropping down on the ground. And then you don't need to get revived because you were sitting there for 30 seconds and someone just happens to pass by and pick you up.

- More bolt action snipers
CoD4 had 2 bolt action snipers, WaW had 4... but it's WW2 so that's to be expected (and I used them snipers all the time), MW2 had 1, and Black Ops has 1. Bolt actions are more fun to use, and you can't spray them off. So I would like to see more bold actions in MW3.
- An S&D playlist with no explosives
If there was a playlist of S&D without C4, tubes, RPGs, claymores, etc then I'd play that. You only get one life per round... so why is it fair that you lose that life because you run into a random placed claymore? I would also go so far as to remove grenades but if someone is camping you need something to take them out.
- 2 man team playlist
I liked it in Gears, a Wingman playlist where it's you and one other person take on a few other 2 man teams. Gears had a total of 5 teams... might be a bit much, I think 3 or 4 teams would be better for CoD.
- A different melee system
The knife system has been broken since CoD4 (maybe even before that...). Doesn't always work (I've knifed people not playing and it not register, I've done the knife lunge and it'd stab them but not register), people panic knife, you'll be shooting at someone and they knife you. The whole system needs to be redone from the ground up. Start with fixing it where if you melee someone it registers... After that fix it where it's no longer a knife, but the butt of your weapon. 2 hits in the front for the kill, 1 if behind them. That fixes the probs of people panic knifing, that fixes the probs of shooting at someone and they knife you. If people don't like that it's the butt end of a weapon then their secondary can be a knife and that be a 1 hit kill like it is now (not a Ballistic Knife, just a normal knife).
- Old School
I didn't play it all that much but I liked Old School in CoD4. I liked the idea of running around and picking up weapons. No classes... no perks... a level playing field and whoever gets to the good weapons first gets to use them.
- Weapon DLC
It won't happen... but I wish they would add more weapons as DLC. I know people will be going "Well why weren't these weapons in the game from the start? Why do I have to buy them?". I think new weapons will bring a newness to the game just like new maps.
- Rotating Killstreaks
What I mean by this is... if you get 3 kills and get a UAV and then get a Harrier Strike and if you don't have a UAV up you'll have to blindly place it somewhere. But what's sad is you've got a UAV in your pocket and you can't use it because you've got a Harrier you got to use first. Or you're running Blackbird and Chopper Gunner and you get both at the same time (2 kills back to back). Well since there's another helicopter in the air you can't use your Chopper Gunner... but your team could use that Blackbird... but since there's a helicopter up you're out of luck. I've been there many many times. Gotten the kill needed for a Blackbird and before I have a chance to use it got the kill needed for a Chopper Gunner. So why can't I rotate killstreaks? The "Down" on the D-Pad has no use, why can't I use that to rotate my killstreaks?
~ The number 1 thing they need to do for MW3

- Dedicated Servers
If they don't do any weapon tweaking, if they don't add or remove anything then they need to have the game on dedicated servers for consoles. The games makes billions, the DLCs makes millions... and they won't have dedicated servers for what reason? This is 2011 why am I haven't to put up with crappy hosts? Why am I getting killed because the enemy team has 4 bar connection and I have a mid to low 3 bar? Why am I getting killed around the corner? Why is my bullets going through people? Why am I getting hit markers when I hit someone with a sniper up close or hit them when only their upper body is exposed? Why do I take a loss when the host Dashboards or it can't find a good host? Why does theater mode not always work? Why does sometimes shots take a few hits where others take half a clip? Why does someone with a 3.40K/D get killed by someone with a .89K/D when they're both using the same weapon but the 3.40 shoots first?
I've got a total of 441 losses in Black Ops, I'd be willing to bet that half of them are from hosts Dashboarding or stuff like that (if you're in a game, and the host leaves and it takes you back to the lobby you took a loss). I want to say half of my 11,282 deaths came from connection based... but to play it safe I'll say 30%. The game is soooo connection based that it's not funny. Really the weapon you use doesn't matter as long as you're using the same weapon type (assault rifle batting an assault rifle, SMG vs an SMG). One might take 3 bullets to kill and the other might take 4, but since it's so connection based 90% of the time the person with the 4 bar connection will lose. And when you watch the killcam you didn't get a shot off, or got one or two but on your screen it was half a clip. I've shot at people and they'd turn and kill me when I have the better weapon, I had the jump on them, and everything else. You're thinking "Well you just missed". I don't miss, out of the 47 people on my friends list that has Black Ops only 6 has better accuracy then me. It's 20.62% and that is really high for a CoD game and it'd be higher if it weren't for lag. I know it sounds like I'm complaining a lot when it comes to connection but everything I said is true. And on top of that having a good connection will help everyone out.
When it comes right down to it... it's a no brainer for a game as big as Call of Duty to have dedicated servers. Gears of War 3 is going to have them, Battlefield has them, so why not CoD? People who casually play the game wouldn't care about all that much, but for people who play it and care for their K/D and W/L it'd really help them out. CoD is such a big game, it'd be nice to give a little back to the people. Someone like me who buys it year after year, has gotten every DLC since CoD4, and plays the multiplayer as my main multiplayer game... I would love to have dedicated servers.
My God, you really need to get outside and into those parks like we talked about! :P
When I watched the trailer, I was pretty impressed with it. I liked how it looked and just the feel of the game from the trailer. So it should be interesting to see how it shapes up. I will be keeping an eye on it!

I liked black ops (was my first COD game) but the multiplayer had so many empty servers, it made me feel all alone :(
(that really sucks when all the full servers are only running one map: Nuketown)
Some people tend to want only Multiplayer features for this game. What I would like to see is some fresh new campaign or something, but knowing my luck that won't happen. I do actually get around to the campaign at one stage, so I think it'd be good to make that better.
As for the other multiplayer modes (meaning not standard multiplayer), such as zombies etc, I'd like to see a more co-op based game out, sort of like the Spec Ops in MW2. It's one of those things people really do enjoy when it comes to playing a game like this, to just have an alternate mode where you can team up with people for a common goal. I'd actually like to see this in 4-man squads as well, instead of two, if they do decide to implement it.

I agree with all of that, especially the Rotating Killstreaks. I've always thought how stupid it was to have a Harrier for example and having a UAV underneath it and not be able to use that before placing your Harrier. This is something that's been needed for a while.
After dedicated servers, the next thing on the list has to be return of the nuke. I know people hate it ending the game but after you get a few nukes on MW2, you play BO and think 'why am I bothering?', nukes really gave you something to try and achieve. Maybe boost it to 30 killstreak to make them slightly less frequent.
On the combat training thing, maybe it should do check to see if you have any data on previous CoD games, if you don't have any data then you must play 5 combat training matches before joining real multiplayer matches.
Maybe if the Nuke was set at an automatic Killstreak it would work, but it'd be a little different. Sure it'd be automatic, but depending on the KS rewards you have, depends on the KS needed to get the nuke. So having say, UAV and Counter UAV would yield in a 20-KS nuke, whereas having say, a Harrier and Chopper gunner would yield a 40-KS nuke.
