First and only update post below:
Spoiler:
Figured this would make a good start, as it gives me access to both Blastoise and Nidoqueen.
Starting off, I get L2 Nidoran Female as my first catch.
Brock is Gen 1 Brock versus a starter not named "Charmander".
Squirtle evolves after a fight with a Bug Catcher in Mt. Moon.
Nidoran evolves while fending off swarms of wild Zubats.
Moon Stone is immediately deployed to evolve Nidorina, since her moveset will be TM-based anyway.
Cerulean City Rival falls easily to the duo.
Nugget Bridge and the nearby area is easy.
I dispose of Dig Rocket and give TM28 to Wartortle.
Misty goes down after several uses of Dig. Didn't even need to use Potions.
Nidoqueen gets Body Slam just in time for the S.S. Anne rival.
I have never seen so many OHKOs.
Since I'm in Blue, I have to grab a Bellsprout as an HM Slave.
Rock Tunnel is uneventful.
I grab Ice Beam from the Department Store and unlock Saffron.
I then proceed to thrown my promising career as a Trainer away in favor of becoming a horrifying PSA on the evils of gambling. Mm, gambling.
To fuel my insatiable addiction, I beat up some perfectly innocent mobsters for cash.
My newly-evolved Blastoise appreciates the experience.
My Rival is severely underleveled against L35 Nidoqueen and L36 Blastoise. I don't MEAN for this to be a Duo-Species Challenge, honest...
I proceed to beat up madwomen and mobsters for my gambling habit. Give... me... cash...
PokeFlute is obtained.
Finally, I achieve my TRUE objective: Buying Dratini. Manually.
That... took some doing. But it's the first time I've gotten to use the line in Gen 1, so I'm looking forward to it.
It immediately receives Ice Beam.
I get to Fuchsia and immediately go for the HMs. Blastoise receives both.
Dratini evolves, mercifully enough. The power difference is immediately noticeable.
I enter Silph Co. and blitz through it.
After a difficult battle against the Rival, I claim the fourth and final team member, Lapras.
I clear Sabrina's Gym, feeding Lapras some EXP, then head out to give it more EXP on Cycling Road.
Since part of the Biker code of conduct is that almost every Pokemon must be weak to Psychic (via TM), this is a cinch.
Koga manages to detonate his final Pokemon while Blastoise is underground, earning me the Soul Badge.
One long and nostalgic walk later, I hop on the Pallet-Cinnabar Blastoise ferry.
The Mansion provides great EXP for Lapras, getting it up to L34. I also put Surf on it because it needed strong STAB.
Blaine and co. get it up to L38, and it learns Ice Beam. TM21 gives it Thunderbolt, making it a Pokemon that can solo E4.
I'm so inspired that I give EVERY SINGLE POKEMON (other than the HM Slave) Surf.
This has the expected effect on Giovanni's Gym.
Rival's pre-Pokemon-League proves difficult, mainly because of Alakazam, but he goes down with some team effort.
*
I arrive at E4 with team members L43-45.
This run goes wrong due to Lance, Lance, Lance, and also Alakazam. I am very glad this is not a Nuzlocke.
At L43-L47, I retake the challenge.
Lorelei: Full Restore x1
Thunderbolt dominated this battle, with some Surfing to fill in the gaps.
Bruno: Full Restore x1, Revive x1
Surf, Surf, Surf. Pity Lapras is weak to Fighting AND Rock.
Agatha: Full Restore x1 (post-battle)
Full Restore x1 before Lance.
Dig spam wipes out all of her Pokemon except for Golbat, which went down to Surf. The only reason this took items at all was her Confuse Ray spam, which did an annoying number on Blastoise.
Lance: Full Restore x1 (post-battle)
I'm surprised the three extra levels made a difference. It also helped that he didn't score any critical hits this time...
Anyway, Thunderbolt for Gyarados, Ice Beam for the rest. I swapped to Blastoise's Surf to cope with Aerodactyl, but the RNG was in my favor for all the others. Lapras didn't faint once.
Rival: Full Restore x1, fainted two.
The extent to which Alakazam is luck-based is infernally annoying. And yes, it was luck this time, because it could have attempted a repeat of the previous team wipe if it had used Psychic every turn instead of wasting time on Disable and Psybeam. Or hit critical hits.
Thunderbolt/Ice Beam for Pidgeot, Blastoise's Strength (and then a Thunder Wave/Wrap takedown after Blastoise fainted) for Alakazam, Thunderbolt for Gyarados, Surf for Arcanine and Rhydon, Body Slam (and Ice Beam after Nidoqueen fainted) for Venusaur.
Not that I should be complaining. My Pokemon have reached the Hall of Fame!
Final Team:

BlueTwo the L44 Nidoqueen

Not posting screenshots because I don't think I can yet (this is my first post), but I have them if needed.
I am kinda tempted to use a few hacks I am not using atm to do a few monocolors on them ^^ I am still going to try to dig up my old sign-ups if there are any and do those aswell but in the mean time:

First challenge completed in a while. This means I've completed an ultimate through the first five gens! I'll probably be playing through X next, but that may not happen for a week or two.
Picked Snivy, and proceeded through the game until I caught a Purrloin at Route 19. Named him "Rocket".
With some effort, Rocket took down Cheren's team. Lots of lucky Fury Swipes!
After getting to Virbank Complex, I caught a Koffing. I nicknamed her "Gamesphere".
Defeated Roxie pretty easily with Gamesphere.
Battled against Team Plasma and got to Castelia City.
While battling trainers in the Battle Company, Rocket evolved into a Liepard.
Caught a Zubat in the Castelia Sewers, named him "Hibiki".
Caught an Eevee in the Castelia Garden, named him "San".
While at the Castelia Gym, Hibiki evolved into a Golbat.
Burgh was easy with Hibiki.
Through lots of bicycle riding and grooming, San's happiness increased high enough to allow him to evolve into an Espeon.
Went to Route 16 and caught a Gothita, named her "Angelica".
While doing some training on Route 16, Hibiki evolved into a Crobat.
Defeated Elesa pretty easily with San.
While training on Route 6, Angelica evolved into a Gothorita.
Gamesphere finally evolved into a Weezing in Chargestone Cave.
Defeated Skyla.
Angelica evolved into a Gothitelle after the battle with Hugh.
Defeated Drayden.
Scared off some Team Plasma members.
Defeated Marlon.
Boarded the Plasma Frigate a few times and defeated Zinzolin, the Shadow Triad, Colress, Ghetsis, etc.
Finally got to Victory Road!
After making sure my party was adequately leveled, I took on the E4.
Finally, I defeated Iris!
Ultimate Purple Monocolor Challenge (Platinum) FINAL Update
Finally dove into the bulk of this run after about a year of just letting it sit. Went pretty smoothly, the E4 and Cynthia could have been easier but I got tired of grinding (as per the usual).
Picked Fennekin and proceeded through the game until I got to Connecting Cave.
Caught a Zubat at Connecting Cave, named her "Hibiki".
Caught a Drifloon on Route 8, named him "Driffy".
Also caught a Mienfoo on Route 8, named him "Omi".
Proceeded to Ambrette Town.
Defeated Team Flare in Glittering Cave.
Hibiki evolved into a Golbat while training on Route 10.
Defeated Grant pretty easily with Omi.
After the battle with Grant, Hibiki evolved into a Crobat!
Driffy evolved into a Drifblim on Route 11.
Got to Shalour City, went to the Tower of Mastery.
Defeated Korrina easily with Hibiki.
Also defeated Ramos very easily with Hibiki and Driffy.
Defeated Team Flare in the Kalos Power Plant.
Defeated Clemont, mostly with Omi.
Caught a Goomy on Route 14, named him "Goopy".
Defeated Valerie with Hibiki and Driffy.
Goopy evolved into a Sliggoo in Frost Cavern.
Defeated Olympia with Driffy.
Omi finally evolved into a Mienshao in Lysandre Labs.
Left the Labs momentarily to go evolve Goopy into a Goodra.
Defeated Lysandre multiple times, along with Team Flare.
Caught a Noibat at Terminus Cave, named him "Grayson".
Grayson evolved into a Noivern after the battle with Tierno on Route 19.
Defeated Wulfric.
Got through Victory Road.
Defeated Drasna with Grayson and Goopy.
Defeated Wikstrom with Goopy and Omi.
Defeated Malva with Goopy and Omi.
Defeated Siebold with Goopy.
Defeated Diantha with a combined team effort.
Defeated AZ, thus completing the challenge!
Ultimate Purple Monocolor Challenge (White 2) First and FINAL Update (ULTIMATE COMPLETE!)
This run was surprisingly easy, yet still really fun. The happiness grinding I had to do when I evolved Dmitri made Return really strong for everybody by mid-game, and I was overleveled for the E4 just by like, playing the game. The only annoying part of the whole run was training up a Purrloin to take on the very first gym. Psyched to have another Ultimate under my belt though : D
For Christmas as a gift to myself I finally bought a 3DS (well, 2DS) and the three games that I've missed out on by not having one. So while everyone else is playng Sun and Moon, I'm bringing back my Brown Monocolor for my first playthough of X.
Ultimate Brown Monocolor Challenge (X) - First Update
Badges: 2
Because I'm so unfamiliar with this game, instead of planning my team ahead of time, I'm just catching every brown Poke I see and building the team on the fly. The Exp Share really lends itself to this kind of strategy
