In my opinion, I think it's Scizor. Sorry, but I think Scyther looks cooler, and is more fun to use (You would be surprised at the amount of hits it can take with an Eviolite, and how hard it can hit with Aerial Ace after Swords Dance.) An honorable mention goes to what I like to call the Unholy Trifecta of Generic Starters: Sceptile, Greninja and Charizard (I once saw a trainer card on Pokecharms with all three of these guys, and it legitimately made me cringe).

    Bisharp and Noivern.

I never saw anything redeemable about Noivern tbh. Its not that I hate it, I just never understood it's popularity. It has the same stats as Crobat... Ok? But just with offesnses swapped and it has less speed for more sp.attk... Is that really good? I'd honestly rather go into a cave and raise my own Crobat.
Bisharp, again I don't get why it is popular. It's design is subpar at best (it looks like hes wearing kitchen gloves for fucks sake). And why does it evolve so late exactly? I've always found myself using other dark mons.

If you guys are surprised that I didn't mention the Cyndaquil line, that's cause I used them in a nuzrun I played back when I was on hiatus on the forum and so I'm not against them anymore.

Pikachu. Obviously. It's not even that great of a pokemon. There are much cuter options, stronger options, I sware if it wasn't the mascot, people would forget it exists :p

The entire Charmander line (particularly its final form) is what I consider to be among the most overrated Pokémon. I never understood why everybody that had one back in Generation I bragged about it, considering it was at a disadvantage against the first two Gyms (traditionally, I've based my starter choice on what types the first Gym or two featured.)

I consider the vast majority of Mega Evolutions to be overrated as well, but that's a completely different topic...

    Garchomp.
I am so tired of seeing this Dragon everywhere all the time. I mean, IMO it's not even that great of a pokemon because it has such high usage that everybody builds their teams in order to get rid of it. I also think it is one of the ugliest Dragons ever made.

I actually think it's pretty funny how whenever a pokemon becomes annoyingly overused, good competitive teams are often built with the intention of hosing the annoyingly over used pokemon. Honestly, pokemon like Garchomp deserve it, by all means hose away.

Charizard! It seems to be the most popular of the three by a mile and I really don't get why? It even received two mega evolutions whilst Venusaur and Blastoise only received one each. :x

Umbreon. Aside from its high defensive stats, I don't see any appeal in this thing. Also, I'm tired of it constantly winning the Dark type tournament. Give the other Dark types a chance already!

I don't mind Umbreon, but I can understand why you're salty about it always winning the FPT's Dark-type poll, especially because this year it won that round again. But the reason why I feel it's popular is because of its design, which is simple but it's also effective.

I definitely agree with you guys, because Charizard is the true icon of overrated Pokemon and people think it's more of a mascot than Pikachu is. Special treatment such as two Mega Evolutions and the simple yet effective design is a key to its success.

Greninja is now pretty much becoming the new Charizard, because while I admit it's my fave of the Kalos starters it does get a bit annoying seeing it get special treatment at the expense of the others (aka Ash-Greninja). That's why my thoughts on it changed a lot, because I know how uncomfortable it is when a Pokemon you despise gets so much special treatment. And then there's that poll it won in Japan earlier this year.

I did like Greninja a lot initially, but its position on my "fave starter ranking" lists has declined a bit due to Ash-Greninja and prominent appearance in other media, causing it to remind me too much of how Charizard was everywhere.

Bergmite arg its so ugly I HATE IT

I wouldn't consider Bergmite overrated. It has had like, no appearance in the anime and people don't even talk about it.

I just have to say this...
I love Umbreon, but I love Umbreon because of how it plays in the games. I have personally ranked it as my favorite wall pokemon tied along with Steelix. It really plays amazingly when it's built properly and used in favor of its strengths which are all completely defensive. It's the only solid Dark type pokemon that is built to be a huge bulky wall. Most Dark pokemon are just so fragile.

However, I do admit that the majority of Umbreon's fandom is based only on its design, I would possibly even go as far to say that 90% of the people who are fans of Umbreon have either never played with one or tried a couple of times and gave up in frustration due to Umbreon's complete inability to sweep anything.
So I do understand the frustration over the fact that it seems to always win favorite dark type only because of the design, but I have to support it because, all in all it really is a powerful pokemon. I personally would be so happy if it was loved for how well it plays rather than just, "Ooh... look how sleek and shiny it is!"

    Lucario is overrated imo.

LOL was just gonna say this but with reasoning. I don't hate it or anything, but it's a bit hard to see why some people treat it like the best thing ever. As much as I liked to write for the one in my documented hack run, in-game he never really proved his worth that much, tbh. The first one I used in X was also good but not as good as my other 5 teammates tbh.

Same reason. I don't hate it, but I also don't see why it is considered to be so special.

For me the most overrated Pokemon is Zoroark

Some call Zoroark the Gen 5 Lucario but Lucario at least has a good design, Zoroark looks quite frankly horrible.

Also for some reason the whole line was made basically event only in Black/White. It's not a Legendary or Mythical so why was this done.

Someone saw sense and made it one of N's Pokemon in BW2 and Zoroark is just a normal catch in XY.

Why such a nothing Pokemon was given so much exposure is inexplicable.
