Been wondering since I saw the base stats, so what's the better thing to invest ev's into for a Mega Pinsir Defence or speed?

Speed. Pinsir has always been viewed as a sweeper, whether in Mega or regular form. As Mega Pinsir, it gained a much-needed Speed boost, so take advantage of that gain by investing into Speed.

Question BREEDING
For me to breed is it important for at least 1 Parent having good IVs and if so how do I obtain a parent (ditto) with good IVS
31/31/x/x/x/31
or
31/x/x/31/x/31
and how do I improve the IVs of pokemon while breeding?

It's important to have decent IVs while you breed. You don't improve IVs while you breed. They're set in stone. Keep catching Ditto and see which one works out for you.

New breeding mechanics (assuming X/Y):
-Either parent can pass down egg moves and DW abilities
-If a parent holds the Destiny Knot, 5 IVs are guaranteed to be passed down from either one.

Just got into competitive pokemon...I'm not exactly sure what playstyle I want to play right now, but I would like to incorporate a Metagross in there as I have already started training it. It's adamant with 252 attack / 230 special def / ? 3rd stat. Moveset- Earthquake, Meteor Mash, Zen Headbutt, and Protect.

What playstyles do you suggest I could play with a metagross in my team. And could you link me to some guides of that?

Assuming Gen V, Metagross can pull off a variety of roles from a bulky supporter, a hard-hitting attacker or a late-game cleaner:
-Stealth Rock
-Meteor Mash
-Pursuit
-Earthquake/Hammer Arm
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 HP/96 Atk/160 SDef
Item: Leftovers

or
-Meteor Mash
-Bullet Punch
-Hammer Arm
-Zen Headbutt/Pursuit/ThunderPunch
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 164 HP/252 Atk/92 Spe
Item: Choice Band

or
-Agility
-Zen Headbutt
-Earthquake
-Meteor Mash/Ice Punch
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Item: Life Orb

or
-Meteor Mash
-Hidden Power (Fire)
-Grass Knot
-Zen Headbutt/Earthquake
Nature: Naughty
EVs: 252 HP/228 SAtk/28 Spe
Item: Life Orb

And catching a pokemon with decent IVs come down to luck I take it.
So the best thing for me to do would to find a Friend Safarai - Normal, and look for dittos with decent IVs.

Thanks PD.

So I'm still kinda meh when it comes down to understanding exactly if I have good IV's for my Pokemon.

I just caught my Mewtwo in Pokemon Y. It's got the nature I want (Timid) and its characteristic is "Alert to sounds", which I understand is beneficial towards the speed stat. I also read however, that it could either mean it's the lowest possible outcome for the IV stat or the highest.

It's at level 70, and it's residing at a speed of 228, without any EV's. How do I tell if it's got the highest or lowest of IV's for its speed stat?

I went on pokemon showdown, and I entered a Level 70 Timid Mewtwo 31 IVs speed is 228.
Your mewtwo has perfect speed IVs

Thanks! I ended up going to Pokedit (tisk tisk) to see if I could enter the stats that way and ended up finding out that it's got perfect speed, special attack, special defense and almost perfect HP (30), dunno about attack and defense, didn't bother. I got uber lucky! EV trained it, it's gonna be a killer!

Heliolisk is too defensively weak for parafusion; though its Special Defense is admittedly decent, its low physical Defense and common weaknesses to Fighting and Ground hold it back from supporting the team at all. It's better off all-out attacking:
-Thunderbolt
-Surf
-Grass Knot/Focus Blast
-Volt Switch/Focus Blast
Nature: Timid
EVs: 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spe
Item: Life Orb
Ability: Dry Skin

Gengar needs Focus Blast to hit Steel Pokemon harder than Shadow Ball would, preferably over Thunderbolt.

Alakazam is too frail for Sub + CM. Substitute's only use is scouting for switch-ins:
-Psychic/Psyshock
-Shadow Ball/Signal Beam
-Focus Blast
-Substitute/Hidden Power (Fire/Ice)
Nature: Timid
EVs: 4 Def/252 SAtk/252 Spe
Item: Life Orb/Focus Sash
Ability: Magic Guard

Leftovers or Life Orb are Blaziken's best items.

As for your missing three team slots, experiment and see what works for you.

When I'm building a Clawitzer, should I max EVs in Speed/SpA even though it generally has a low speed?

Clawitzer's defenses are similar to Escavalier's and it should play as such:
-Hydro Pump/Water Pulse
-Aura Sphere
-Dragon Pulse/Ice Beam
-Dark Pulse/Sludge Bomb/U-turn
Nature: Modest
EVs: 252 HP/252 SAtk/4 Spe
Item: Choice Specs

The only time you'd use Timid with 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spe is if Clawitzer is using Choice Scarf, but it would still be outsped by Pokemon with 115 base Speed and a Hasty/Naive/Jolly/Timid nature.

[HELP]Vaporeon EV's Training & Moveset

I just got Calm Eevee and just evolved it to Vaporeon and it's still level 20.

I need advice on EV's training, is it okay to go like this (252 HP, 252 SPDEF, 6 DEF)?

Whats your opinion?

Could someone tell me good EV spreads and movesets for a Goodra and a Trevenant?
Honestly depends on what you want to do with it. Popular consesus at the moment seems to be tank or mixed attacker.

Goodra @ Life Orb
Nature: Naughty
EV: 4 HP / 16 Def / 124 Atk / 208 SpA / 188 Spe
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
- Ice Beam/Sludge Bomb/Thunderbolt

Or a special wall to abuse Hydration?

Goodra @ Assault Vest
Nature: Bold
EV: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
- Rest
- Dragon Pulse
- Hydro Pump
- Infestation??

As for

Trevenant (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 80 SDef / 176 Spd
Careful Nature
- Wood Hammer / Horn Leech
- Shadow Claw
- Will-O-Wisp
- Rest

I am wondering if I should make an annoying rage team based on my old rain one, but am wondering if there is any room for these kind of teams now due to the stat-boosted mega evolutions.

Is there still room for defensive teams, or would I be better off with a general one?
The only good defensive mega stat-wise is aggron, but in rain it would suffer horribly.

Check the previous page for my suggestions. Didn't you already post the exact same thing?

A Bold nature with 248 HP/252 Def/8 Spe is better because its physical bulk isn't that good.
