I've had it on my mind for a while; I know it's near impossible for it to happen, but I think it would be cool.

3D Pokemon Game (Name pending xD;)
    Platform: Wii
    Rating: E10

Concept: It's the normal style Pokemon adventure, but in 3D, and taking advantage of lots of things on the wii.. including wifi.

    Unique Features:
~ Co-Op Adventure; register people in your pal pad. If they're online when you are, they'll appear on the main map and you guys can interract.

~ Interractive HM moves; When you fly, its like a crazy fast moving through the air, you have to drop at the right time, and command your pokemon.

~ Trainers fight eachother, get hurt, and level off eachother

~ No direct level advantage; Piggybacks onto the top one, levels won't mean everything.. it's also about skill, so..

~ No set path; You don't have to do gyms in order, there's nothing blocking your path that you need to do something first to get past, etc. Gyms will all be around the same general level too.

~ Walk around with your pokemon *like in yellow* or ride them, fly around, whatever is better for you

I think it's a nice little dream I have here. I'll edit on new ideas when I think of it.

No he means when you control the Pokemon and its not turn based, which wold kill pokemon battling. It sounds good until you get to that part.

She means there could be battles that aren't purely turn based.. or some way to eliminate levels meaning everything, that was just one idea, because like I said, itd be cool to not have to do the gyms in any order.. think the Pokemon anime. All gyms being the same level was one idea instead of the fighting, because as you said, the strategy is a big part... so...

I think lot of people here have the same dream as you, including me ;D

I'd love an RPG PKM game on Wii, although I see it unlikely to happen.
Anyway, your ideas about the HM and the freedom to move in the region are good. Its often annoying that you have to go in an specific way ot have to do an specific thing. Would be cool to have more options in you journey and in your characters actions as well, so we could be seen as 'good' people or 'bad' people inside the game.

I like the idea, and the descriptions you have used have projected a kingdom hearts-style image in my mind. In that levels arent as important as skill, but make the game a hell of a lot easier if paid attention too (as well as the benefit of new skills).

Also to keep the gyms from becoming too hard (because if they are all roughly the same level the first one would be very hard), would it be a good idea to have the enemies levels rise in tandem with the players, with variation for different areas (ie wild pokemon stay same level).

For interactive HM moves, i personally would like to see an adventure where pretty much all attacks have interactive elements with the environment. for example, why have to use cut for a tree in the road, when a move like flamethrower could produce a similar result? I like the idea for the fly also, as well as freedom to roam the entire region. But wouldnt the game need a few boudaries in order for it to retain a good plot?

@ feathing: Regarding the diversity of character actions, do you mean the main character could be portrayed as either good or evil and follow a slightly different path like, for example Shadow the Hedgehog ? Because if so i like that idea too.

The idea i would like to put forward is the ability to customise the trainers appearence, a la Battle Revolutions. Along with a system that keeps pokemon from permanently forgetting moves and having the pokemons moveset completely changeable at certain points.

Although it probably wont happen, this is a nice dream to have.

    Crazed minds think alike.

Interestingly enough, I had an idea similar to this, but not identical.

Essentially, it would be like the handheld pokemon games, but fleshed out and massively expanded. The player would have a much wider range of choices for customizing their trainer, including outfit, age (to a limited extent- probably a range inbetween 10 and 17), and 'personality,' which would affect how NPCs in the game reacted to you and vice-versa. All the regions introducued thus far, at least in the 'regular' games could be journeyed to and explored. There would be many more choices for interaction with pokemon then simply battles and contests, such as areas where you can simply talk to or camp out with your pokemon. You'd still have the goal of winning each regions pokemon league, which would probably unlock some sort of Ultra-Mega-Super League at the end of the game, but you would also be able to, with patience and hard work, actually catch EVERY SINGLE TYPE OF POKEMON. You would be able to connect to the DS games and transfer and trade pokemon, of course. Essentially, it's what you would do if you went by the basic formula of pokemon, put it an actual three-dimensional space, and then leveled the whole thing up beyond the simple options of the DS games.

Pokemon, at least in my mind, doesn't really fit as an Action-RPG. It would be absolutely fine for a spinoff game to play with the subject, but quite a bit of the fun of the current games is derived from one relying more on strategy and less on reflexes.

I like the idea of progressively increasing the strength of wild pokemon and trainers as your own team levels up, or even adjusting the level so you can train teams of low-level pokemon pretty much anywhere. It would be a nice step forward in non-linearity.

Oh! There were a few of those you mentioned I was thinking but didn't post. One was customizing trainers (think the sims), and secret bases.. think sims again, or animal crossing.. with a wider range. I love the idea of moves being able to be used in the environment, that would be great..

I was also thinking NPCs battle eachother, too? I mean, it's so strange that they stand there waiting for someone.. you.. to cross paths, and never interract with the others around them. That kind of game would be great.
