Name changes

Two weeks ago, we had our first utilization of the new name change system, where instead of any user having the opportunity to request a name change after four months (three if you're a Crystal or higher tier supporter), they will have a new system that operates every four months and those are the only times you will be able to request one, unless you are a Crystal or higher tier supporter whereas you can get one additional name change regardless of if said topic is open in CF&S or not.

The fact that the name changes have happened now made me want to make a thread asking these questions:
-If you had a username change, why did you pick the username you have now? What does your current name represent? What made you want to change from what you previously had?
-If you are one of the people who never want to change their username (i.e. Hikamaru, Sheep or Necrum), why? What makes the username you have so important that you feel a need to keep it?

    Discuss.

I switched my name to Lilith because Borderlands is one of my favorite video game series. She's a cool, powerful character and I love the lore in the series.

My previous username, TwilightBlade, is largely a reference to The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Also on my mind at the time was had Kirby 64: Crystal Shards. In this game, one of Kirby's many copy abilities is Cutter Kirby, and the "blade" Kirby uses is actually his own body, which peels off and travels forward. It really stuck out to me and it's humorous looking.

Blade in general also is a reference to my twin brother's online alias, Razor. I believe he picked this nickname from the Motorola Razr flip cell phones that were popular in the early 2000s. That, or we were/are both suffering from low self esteem issues and fantasizing about sharp objects...

Overall, my usernames here were based on video games.

-If you are one of the people who never want to change their username (i.e. Hikamaru, Sheep or Necrum), why? What makes the username you have so important that you feel a need to keep it?
I identify the most as Blade. It's 7+ years of my life and the name many of my online friends know me as. Same enough, I know the ones you mentioned by their most used internet alias. Sometimes, I will refer to the person as the alias they were using when I first met them...

I chose Denny Hamlin because Sector (now Jeff Gordon) and I wanted to do a NASCAR collab since NASCAR is now entering the final 10 races of the current season. I also wanted to ditch "Cadance" due to unforseen circumstances. Both of our drivers are currently fighting for the championship, so we're pretty much rivals for the time being. Also, Denny is one of my favorite drivers.

The majority of PC, well the internet actually, identify myself as Megan or Meganium, because it's the name people have been calling me the whole time I've been here. I was able to get permission to snatch Meganium, a taken name from 2004. it'll happen one day.

Well, I'm a fan of Oshawott and people here often called me "Hikari" or "Hika" due to my previous name, which didn't really have any significance to me and so I decided to combine it with "Mijumaru" (Oshawott's Japanese name) and hence, Hikamaru came to be. In fact I actually used the name prior to the name changes returning, where it was a name I used a lot on the battle server since August 2013. These days, it's the only name I use on the server now that it's consistent with my name on the forum. I also love how cute the name sounds, which fits perfectly with my love over cute things.

Hikamaru is a name I think will definitely stick with me, because as mentioned it ties in with the fact Oshawott is my fave Pokemon, and I also wanted to have some remnants of my previous name, Hikari10. In fact, a lot identify me as Hikari or Hika anyway so it's not much of an issue.

I honestly think that Hikamaru is a great name, mixing the alias you are known for with your favorite pokémon. It's a genius name for a forum like this. Now, I should change to Chikorika...

I recently changed (in the regular change thread) to Doctor because the new Doctor Who season started and I got all into wearing DW themes again and it's overall cool to be the Doctor on PC. But only a couple of weeks later, I changed back to Adventure (which I've had 2 times before) thanks to my extra Crystal tier change. Adventure is just such a simple word with so much meaning to it. I can use so many themes with it, it goes well together with my hobby of forum roleplaying, it starts with a shiny big A which is hawt for some reason and overall I just think I will stick with this from now on. Might change at some point for whatever gimmicky reason I can come up with, but Adventure really feels like me. At last.

I admit Red's Hawt Chibi Pelippers still sort of almost feels like my true identity here, but then again, so did "Fable" once upon a time. Times change :) ONTO NEW ADVENTURES!

Well, I'm not dead-set on never changing my name, but all the same I'm only really known as Cassino. For most folk here that's all I ever was and will be in their minds, so for the sake of feeling good about any degree of notability I may have among the community, I'd rather keep it.

I don't know why I changed my name back to this. The thread came up, and I posted it in it without any thought at all. I just typed it out, without any preconceived idea of what I was going to change it to. And without any hesitation, through what almost seems like instinct, I put down Patchisou Yutohru.

At this point, I don't think I'm going to change my username anymore. I just end up coming back to this one, even though I greatly despise it because of its Japanese undertone.

-If you had a username change, why did you pick the username you have now? What does your current name represent? What made you want to change from what you previously had?
Because I was stupid and did not even check if this name I have when I joined PC was taken. When I found out it was free, no ammount of facepalms can describe my failure. I changed to ShadowE since it is my actual nickname/alias irl. I use it for everything since I started RTS gaming when I was a little kid.

-If you are one of the people who never want to change their username (i.e. Hikamaru, Sheep or Necrum), why? What makes the username you have so important that you feel a need to keep it?
I changed it before, regretted it and now I'm back with it and never will change it again. Like I said before, it is my alias irl aswell :P

I can't answer of the of the questions because I missed the name change (I think), but I'd just like to ask; would somebody be able to PM/VM me when the next name change comes around? Really, rreeeally want to remove the 'of Pallet Town' from my username and just make it 'Veranithas VI'. ^.^

Edit: NVM, Crystal tier represent. :P

-If you had a username change, why did you pick the username you have now? What does your current name represent? What made you want to change from what you previously had?

I love Loki. That much is pretty obvious for sure. The reason I chose "LokiofSassgard" is because he's known to be very sassy. So, instead of just Asgard, I changed it to sassgard and that's how it was born to be. XD

-If you are one of the people who never want to change their username (i.e. Hikamaru, Sheep or Necrum), why? What makes the username you have so important that you feel a need to keep it?

(I feel like this will apply to me now) The reason is because Loki/Tom Hiddleston has become far more than just one of my everyday obsessions. He's evolved far more into being a special interest that I want to keep and hold onto for as long as I am here. I can't part with this name anymore, and I just don't want to change it when he has such a huge impact on my life. I kind of regretted changing it to other names too, so I ended up deciding to stick with the one I have now after having it nicely changed.

I was searching for a good-looking name in blue in PC Battle Server, and decided if I should combine the name of my dream anime (which have Starry in it) and my usual nickname of Windy, so I started to use this name, and begin liking it to the point that it carries in here as well.

-If you are one of the people who never want to change their username (i.e. Hikamaru, Sheep or Necrum), why? What makes the username you have so important that you feel a need to keep it?
I'll keeping my current name because Starry Windy has become my identity in the net, also because it looks catchy (for above reason as well), that changing it to the other name makes me feel awkward now.

I was originally SwiftSign, which is still a huge part of my internet identity. Back around last September I needed the change to help separate my different online accounts and Magic Fox seemed like a good bet - tying together my almost-constant Vulpix theme and the incoming Fennekin. I believe that change was an account merge as a favour from the admins - when namechanges came around officially I dropped the Fox and ended up like this :).

I think my battleserver name is still Magic Fox, but I use it so little it doesn't matter to me much haha. Magic is a nice, easy to remember name and is great fun - endless puns and being kind of relevant to roleplaying is nice too :).

I think, from now, I'll probably keep this name. The only alternative I see is going back to SwiftSign - but that won't be just yet, I'm still fairly paranoid at keeping my internet life as ~undercover as possible.

I went with Leijon a pretty while back since I really love Nepeta Leijon from Homestuck, which is the girl you see in ALMOST EVERY sig I've ever made.

I originally wanted Nepeta, or Nepeta Leijon, but it was recently taken so, you know, whatever haha :3

My original name is actually gunnerpow7, and it's a name that really has a cool backstory that is so nooby yet really creative in a way which I don't feel discussing it again here :x I still kept Gunner, and people know me as Gunner or Gunny :3

Then, I've changed to Lady Gunner, coz I wanted to ditch the nub name, but still keep Gunner. After that came Queen of Shipping, which is like my title lol, and Avant Garde, which was a cool name I really loved.

From those 5 names, I think Leijon is the one that really defines me the most. I'm probably not gonna change any time soon :P

I like the concept behind obZen. ObZen:
...the artwork features a photograph of a male model in the "zen lotus position" with the bottom half of the photograph being from a female model. This is because the male model could not perform the position, making the figure androgynous.[10] The model is covered in blood, which is explained as a metaphor for mankind finding peace of mind through obscenity.[11] Additionally, each of the three blood-smeared hands poses in the shape of the number six, which is meant to symbolize the inherently evil nature of man.

I was an idiot and changed my name when I first joined. I was SlimShady, and decided to change it
Most people from other forums know me as SlimShady, but a (now) inactive member has the name, which really sucks for me
It had lots of sentiment too, because I was SlimShady on my first Pokemon forum (Serebii), but obZen it is it seems
