As long as you're not abandoning the game, we all are fine. This is the only Gen 3 Hack without any extra region/story, which I am still playing. 200 Hours of Gameplay already and I have 391 Dex Entries Completed. Will try to complete it as soon as my exam finishes :)

hmm.... well i finished the game and it was a great one and surprisingly even without grinding all my pokemon are 90. A very well made game but is there any other region after sevii island? and i dont seem to find any mega stone either :/ maybe they are not there but anyways a great game .

It is only kanto and sevii islands. Mega stones are in hidden grottos, they are in regions around all kanto and sevii, search in the thread and you everything about them.

Make sure the ignore checksum is clicked before patching.

- Shiny rates match the (presumed) Gen VI rate
- You are not required to grind to beat the game

These are really good features, really makes the gae feel more up to date.

I do have one big complaint about this otherwise amazing hack though. Why on Earth do the Gym leader / e4 teams match your highest level on even the lower difficulties?? I thought that would only happen on Expert difficulty, which would make sense, but even Medium difficulty does this?? Why?

What I would much prefer is if Easy, Medium and Hard all had set levels, with only Expert having their teams match your highest. It would distinguish the difficulty levels more. I also MUCH prefer set levels to matched ones, but the Easy difficulty is too easy (IMO levels should be increased one or two for each of the gym leaders, or do that for medium difficulty), and honestly the matched ones are FAR too difficult in the early game, even on Medium; Brock is certainly too good for even a ROMhack's first gym, and Misty is virtually impossible to overcome without luck.

Keep trying. Every 250 steps, there is a 5% of a new HA pokemon spawning there.

I had suspicion I could do this, a list would be great so I can properly plan where I can max out since I only realized this after my EVs were maxed out, also related to EVs, is it possible to add the berries that decrease EVs? That'd be a great addition for a challenge run enthusiast like me.

Dang I wish I knew that lol would've made my experience much better and probably wouldn't of even needed to air my grievances on the elite four with a choice scarf.

I brute forced my way through brock with Flaffy Thunder wave, Staravia intimidate swaps then finished with braixen psybeams, it felt really forced to grind them up with turbo though...too bad my first grotto only gave me lillipup, maybe you could add a rare grass type to viridian forest.

I appreciate that decision, I used blizzard and fire blast but I found it a little discouraging that my opponents had all these elite movesets I couldn't get...not as big of a deal now that I know about those item locations just feels a little unfair/unnatural your opponents can gang up on you with these movesets.

I love this hack it should be said, I don't think I mentioned it yet but its quite amazing and the only hack I found actually hard that also felt *mostly* fair, Imma have another go once I find an EV training spot so I can experience it better.

Yeah I've already started toning down the power of trainers on easy mode. I do intend to add the berries in the future. Glad you enjoyed the game!

where can i find spell tag? and can you also make a list of where to find held items?

Where can I find Twisted Spoons and Miracle Seeds? I want to evolve my Kadabra, Pumpkaboo, and Phantump.

Those are all found on Pokemon that hold them in normal games. I think twisted spoon is the hardest one because you'll need to steal it from another Kadabra.

After a lot of kills for EV using power items, I noticed that my pokemon gained EV from the pokemon that I killed (not the EV from the power item). This occurs for after like 30 kills. At first it's normal then that happened.

Odd. After 30 kills? What does that mean? Like, the EV it gives changes?

Can someone explain to me how the honey tree work? Also swarm pokes.

And hidden grotos, is there any way to identify them?

Basically you slather honey on a tree then come back 6 hours later, but no later than a day later. Same as in diamond & pearl.
Swarms are pedometer based, so if there isn't currently a swarm, there's a chance that you're called about a swarm. If you accept the call, the swarm will last for an hour.
Grottos - not at the moment. But people have already posted basically every location.

Found a bug, not sure if a bug tho, i got another Pinsirite when I already have one, isn't it only supposed to be 1 per person? Also at Memorial Pillar you can use surf from the ledge towards the 2nd diving spot, can't post pics now but will edit later...

If you're getting multiple mega stones, that means you've already received all mega stones in that "set". What I mean by that is there there are two lists of mega stones - the Kanto ones and the set for grottos in the Sevii Island & Cerulean Cave.

Would it be possible to add some R/S/E features to the game, like when you walk between two trainers, you have to face then both in a single battle. Not 1 by 1.

Perhaps some Gym Leaders and E4 members dual battles. It is a test of skill after all.

The walk between two trainers - I've never thought about it, and I've never researched it, so I don't know how easy/difficult this would be.
I'm not sure. It does sound interesting though.

Is defog available in the game? I need an extreme speed dragonite, but I can't get it because it's through an event in the original games :(

Extreme Speed Dratini is available as an in game trade on Cinnabar Island. Don't lose it! That's the only way to get one, so make sure to breed it (I did make it an egg move).
As for the trading - you mean the palettes for expanded Pokemon, right? Yeah I've noticed that too, so I'll have to see where that's coming from.

Is it possible to just have a version of this with the challenge/nuzlocke options enabled? Would like to start off by running the vanilla game before moving on to the hack. :)

Already accessible from the start menu. I don't know for sure what you're asking.

Is my level supposed to be matching with the elite 4 on easy difficulty? It's pretty hard to beat them like this tbh.

On easy difficulty? No. Its only when you increase it. If it is, its an error that should be fixed in the next patch.

Another Few Questions:
* Is Light Ball's effect updated? Because it's description says that it only raises Pikachu's Sp. Atk.
* Mega Stones can be Knocked Off & Can be stolen using Thief? I guess the Thief one is okay because it's hard to get the Stones, but it should not be able to Knock Off.
* Is this just a bug or a scripting error, because one of the Trainers in Cerulean Cave gave me a TM without battling the next day.
* Ability Pill doesn't works?

Do you mean that the E4's Pokemon's level is equal to the Level of your most Powerful Pokemon? That means you are playing it in Extreme mode. Switch to Easy mode & it should be just fine.

That's an oversight. Light Ball increases both attacks.

There are multiple ways - listed in the README. Pure Power Bunnelby in specific can't be found until the Sevii Islands.

Just returned both gems to Bill and he fixed his machine. I have 99 pokemon caught in my National pokedex (have also beaten the E4).
Any idea why I cannot enter the Cerulean cave? The guy is still sitting there :(

You need to rematch the E4.

I had to talk to him, it's a cutscene and the place where I got the national PokeDex. :)
So yes, even tried talking to him again. Alas, it had no effect.

To sum it up:

Beat E4
Got National Pokedex
Got Ruby and Sapphire
One Island machine is fixed.
Got 102 poke's caught now (but I bred 200 eggs!).
Cerulean cave dude is just sitting there.

A side question - which trainer should I be re-matching to get Earthquake? Is it in Cerulean cave?

The guy has the "classical" physical TMs, the girl has the specials. So Earthquake can be obtained from the guy.

Any plans to add visual day/night ingame? It would really add a lot of atmosphere imo, that was always one of my favorite features of the newer gens. Also wouldn't hurt as a visual indicator - I actually didn't realize this had RTC support at all until you mentioned berries resetting daily, I assumed everything was pedometer based since it's FR/LG not RSE.

Also, dude, Cinnabar… amazing touch, won't say anything more than that, haha.

Edit: one more thing, is there a way I haven't seen yet to get a 6x31 ditto besides brute force? I love that you updated the breeding mechanics but it's not the same without good stats to inherit… and I can't really transfer the one I've been using for ~3 gens now from my DS to Phone, let alone send it backwards :)

I wouldn't be opposed to it, but I'm not a fan of any of the systems I've seen.

Hey guys, can't seem to find Honedge on Victory Road. Is it a time-based thing? I roamed the whole cave - nothing. Checked grass outside - still nothing. Help!

They're pretty rare. I'm not sure if you can only find them on a specific floor though, but I have managed to find Honedge and Doublade inside.

I found mine right before you exit the victory road. I think its pretty rare there.

They're on the third floor with a 5% encounter rate. But Magnet Pull exists.

Freeze Shock is Electric type, it should be Ice type. Not sure about Ice Burn because I don't have Reshiram yet

Yeah someone mentioned this. I made an error on the recent patch. Its actually a pretty simple fix, but annoying to post as a standalone. Sorry. Its coming, though.
Eviolite is found as an in game trade where you can receive the 2nd stage starter evolution in the gateway by Fuchsia City. Also, it can be directly purchased once you get to Cerulean Cave.

Why are the gym leader's pokemon always the same level as my strongest team member? For "medium" difficulty, that seems a bit extreme. I thought that only happened on "extreme" difficulty, but for medium I really, REALLY don't like that - especially when tyrunt 2HKOes my frogadier with rock tomb and i don't have anything else that can touch the damn thing.

Yeah I'm going to make it a separate option in the future.

Been playing this recently. haven't gotten very far (currently in Mount Moon). But this is by far one of the best hacks I've ever played. Not the best, but up there. The fact I played this at all should be a credit to you. I generally avoid any hacks with gen 5+ pokemon since Gen 5 was such a disappointment to me and I never played gen 6 since I don't have a Nintendo 3DS. This hack introduced me to gen 6 pokemon in a way that gets me excited about them and looking them up.

However, I have a question and I'd rather not spoil it for anyone who hasn't played yet.

I bought the Magikarp from the salesman in the Mt. Moon pokecenter figuring it would be a great water type addition. Then I found it's shiny, has a hidden ability, and special moves, and now I'm scared to use it for the possibility of ruining it. So questions.
1: will the hidden ability change to Gyarados' hidden ability if/when it evolves?
2: will the special moves be inherited by its children should I breed it?
3: From what I can find, there's a chance the hidden ability will transfer over to the newborn pokemon. Will it still pass over if it's a Gyarados?
If the answer to all these is no, it's just going to sit in my PC forever and ever.

I actually added the event moves as Egg moves, so it can pass it, but you can't delete them if you really want to keep them for children. Glad you enjoyed the game!

By the way How do you breed a Perfect Frokie with high stats?

I've been trying to get a Multiscale Dratini/Dragonair from the Safari Zone and I can't seem to get one... It's been an hour and all of them have shed skin -_-

And the trade Dratini at Cinnabar is for the Extremespeed -_- Is getting a Dragonite from the Cerulean Cave grotto the only way I can get a Multiscale Dragonite?

Yep - you need to breed one of those multiscale dragonites/babies that is female with a male espeed dratini line, basically. Ditto may be required depending on either of their genders to get that combination.

Description errors: tanga, kasib, kee berries. I don't know for the others because I don't have them all.

Huhhh. How did you even get those? If they're obtainable, it was accidental :( I for sure haven't added any code for them actually doing anything.

Buuug: Can't breed lapras with Dratini line -,- they're both at the same egg group (water 1) and im pretty sure they're opposite genders.. So whyyy? I wanted a dragon dance lapras :/

Edit: Apparently you seem to put Lapras only in the Monster Egg Group, tried breeding Lapras with other Water1 mons and the man said "The two seem to play with other Pokemon".....

I think I may not have accounted for the egg group slots being different properly. Will rewrite the code.

How can I get a protean froakie? and I found a bug that flare blitz doesn't do the recoil damage when it is used by my darmantain

It must have been a mistake I made with Sheer Force + Life Orb excluding normal recoil as well.

Finally got around to breeding it. The two moves I was worried about, Bubble and Reversal, passed on. Bounce did not.

Question. This game has Gen VI breeding mechanics, right? So males can passed on abilities, right? Been at it twice, and neither one inherited the hidden ability.

EDIT: FINALLY got one with the hidden ability. I'm happy now.

The male can only pass the ability if it breeds with a Ditto. Yeah I didn't add move tutor moves to the egg moves lists - only the event ones.

Very impressive screens and features, azurile13. This hack is very well thought out and I see you like to add even more features. I also love that you have at least one major feature in each update. Cool, keep it up.

I need a new HM slave... something I can use that I probably already have. I was using a Diggersby as an HM slave, but I just beat Lt. Surge, and need a pokemon that can learn both cut and flash... and preferably strength for future uses... and NOT a grass type. Any auggestions?

Beyond what anyone else suggested, I just wanted to say - don't be scared of teaching HMs to any of your Pokemon. They can be deleted at any time, unlike normal games.

Abillity Drought on Mega-CharizardY is kind of buggy, when you mega-evolve it doesn't intensify the sunlight. In order to do it I must switch-out and then switch-in again. Anyone else has this problem or it is just me?

Yeah megas seem to cause palette problems. Thank, I'll fix the guide on the Poliwhirl thing.

There's a graphical bug (somewhat a palette change) whenever I use moonblast while an enemy pokemon mega evolves (My clefable using moonblast while lorelei's abomasnow mega evolves).
Also, in the pokemon list guide, poliwhirl can be obtained from cerulean, not celadon.

So I have to ask, can mega evolutions be used in link battles? Have the moves foul play, secret sword, psyshock been added.

I didn't write mega evolutions, so I can't speak to how difficult this would be - I haven't tried yet. Those other moves have been added, yes.

Will you add ahola pokemon and 7th gen too?

I don't have an opinion of them yet, so not sure. But I don't sprite, so thats a big limitation.

Sheer force doesn't negate recoil in the original game, moves like overheat and leafstorm also still get their stat reduction, hyperbeam and moves like that still require recharge.

Script editing must get difficult too since it doesn't open with advanced map.

You'd basically need to use hex editing. And I can barely even help with that because the locations will change everytime I upload a new patch :P

Is the TM for Power Up Punch in this game?

Indeed it is. I want to say its in the Seafoam Islands.

Please check the base speed stat of azumarill. It seems to be higher than normal.
Is freeze-dry in the game? My cryogonal didn't learn it at level 50.
There was one time that ability pill didn't work for my snorlax. For my other snorlax, it worked.

Ahh, good catch. It looks like when I read bulbapedia for the 6th gen stat boost, I accidentally increased its speed from 50 to 60 instead of its special attack. I don't think I put freeze dry in yet. Weird on the Snorlax. & you don't mean a Gluttony Snorlax, right?

So far liking the game. The difficulty system is pretty good, and I love the Exp. Share you implemented.

If I could suggest: Make it possible to run indoors. Also the player is not facing the trainers when challenged.

I found a new bug. After battling with my classmate, the items inside our bags suddenly increased to infinite.

There's a chain of in game trades that you can use + breeding to get all of them before even the E4. Vermilion, Fuchsia, and Cinnabar Island.

just found an entie with just 3 badges... is that even ok? and will i get another chance if he fleds? because is main games we have only one chance :/ it's hard to catch him when unprepared.

Yep, thats okay. They can be found even with 1 badge. And they should still be around - check your pokedex.

Level-scaling is in this hack too? All of Brock's Pokemon scaled to my Lv. 16 Frogadier.

It is currently linked to difficulty, but I'll be separating that out as a specific choice in the battle menu.

And now... this is the last remaining (and still being updated) ROM hack with almost every single Pokemon available... since Red Chapter got cancelled, Theta Emerald got abandoned, and nothing else on here is even 25% completed.

I know I'm new to all this, but I've been watching hacks become truly remarkable and then just disappear or go dead. I mean, I get why people drop them, but it's just really sad to see all that effort actually be wasted, rather than completed for the community to appreciate and remember you by.

I don't know the details on either of those hacks because I haven't been logged on, but eh. Their choice. Hacking takes time, and I can see how easy it would be to get burned out/ want a break.

As long as you're not abandoning the game, we all are fine. This is the only Gen 3 Hack without any extra region/story, which I am still playing. 200 Hours of Gameplay already and I have 391 Dex Entries Completed. Will try to complete it as soon as my exam finishes :)

hmm.... well i finished the game and it was a great one and surprisingly even without grinding all my pokemon are 90. A very well made game but is there any other region after sevii island? and i dont seem to find any mega stone either :/ maybe they are not there but anyways a great game .

You need to have the national dex. I could have locked the door, but I decided to instead poke fun at how you can basically steal the Eevee off a table in the normal game without anyone caring.

Try it with NUPS. The UPS download should've come with a copy of the program.


Now, I have a question. Every time I go to grab the Eevee in the Celadon mansion, the guy rips into me about taking pokeballs people leave out and tells me to back off (personally I think he should've locked the door in that case). How the hell do I get the Eevee from him?

Whenever I revisit a hidden grotto after catching the HA Pokemon in them, all I find are either random, fairly common items or absolutely nothing. I can't find more HA Pokemon in them, and I have never seen a single Mega Stone at all. :(

They don't appear at a high rate, I made them match Unova. But the rate does increase after rematching the E4.

These are really good features, really makes the gae feel more up to date.

I do have one big complaint about this otherwise amazing hack though. Why on Earth do the Gym leader / e4 teams match your highest level on even the lower difficulties?? I thought that would only happen on Expert difficulty, which would make sense, but even Medium difficulty does this?? Why?

What I would much prefer is if Easy, Medium and Hard all had set levels, with only Expert having their teams match your highest. It would distinguish the difficulty levels more. I also MUCH prefer set levels to matched ones, but the Easy difficulty is too easy (IMO levels should be increased one or two for each of the gym leaders, or do that for medium difficulty), and honestly the matched ones are FAR too difficult in the early game, even on Medium; Brock is certainly too good for even a ROMhack's first gym, and Misty is virtually impossible to overcome without luck.

Yes, this is completely true. The next patch will have the level matching as a choice unrelated to the easy/medium/hard/expert.
