well this thread could be moved to CF&Q or somewhere for the other supporters to make their vote
As Midnight Beat and I were discussing on the first page, I don't think supporters who have not reached the Tier 3 status should have any say in the matter. This is our prerogative because we have donated "x" amount of money to the community. If they wish to be part of such discussions, they will just have to donate more. However, I do believe a PM should be sent to all Tier 3+ Donators; that sounds like a good idea.
But then again, the purple would too. :|In contrast, if there's a colour picked that they don't want, they may be discouraged to ever donate more. Not to mention choosing pink is going to turn off a good portion of potential male candidates. Tier 2+ should be able to have their say, because they all have the privilege of having a coloured username.
I suppose I can understand the logic behind that. However, shouldn't they also be entitled to view the VIP Forum, then? I consider this as the most "official" business we're going to see here and if they have a say in that, why not be able to see the rest of the boards?.fate said:In contrast, if there's a colour picked that they don't want, they may be discouraged to ever donate more. Well, this was my original argument. I personally don't see pink as a gender-neutral color and therefore, voted against it. However, many members seem to think that it is; and who am I to question them? Even though I agree with you, and would rather not have pink, I would accept it. I feel that most current supporters would do the same. As for the potential supporters, I can see the pink username as a hinderance. Many male members will no longer care about the other perks of being a Supporter if it means they have to lug around a pretty pink username. But unlike purple (being a darker shade and what even the Administrators have at the moment), pink is widely known and stereotyped as a colour representing femininity. At most, we don't want to deter any male users from donating because the fact that they wouldn't be granted a gender neutral coloured username is a big put-off alone. It would be fair for all supporters if they were given the privilege of a more androgynous colour.

(And really, the new supporter's are the one's giving the community 'fresh' money.)
Look, they're so close at the moment, it'll probably result in a tie...
What happens then? If there is a tie, do we just stick to purple?
No, they'll create a new poll with the two colors that tied. Then the winner of that poll will be the new color.
What I meant to say, is what if the second poll ties?
With all the fuss in the past about pink yet it still being a popular choice, why not let us have a choice as supporters between 2 colors?
