Hey guys! Been a pokemon fan for a few years now, but only recently been getting more engaged with the anime and games, particularly x and y and ORAS. I've had all the games since platinum, so unfortunately missed out on the early generations :( Found this community and thought it'd be good to chat with likeminded pokemon fans!

And hello there to you too! Great to have you here, Magiagikarp.

I'm someone who missed the early generations as well, given Ruby/Sapphire was when I started playing the games, but aside from that it's still great that you're enjoying both X/Y and OR/AS which are both great games, with their unique features. And while you're here, there's lots of discussions on the Pokemon games, anime and well pretty much everything covering the franchise in general.

Anyways, no matter what you plan to do you'll be sure to have fun and make lots of new friends along the way, and we've always got someone who is willing to help you when you need the assistance. Have a blast and if you ever want to talk just leave me a visitor message!

Thanks for the welcome Hikamaru it's good to know I'm not the only one who missed the first gen! I'm looking forward to getting involved in some of the discussions! It's great that there's a dedicated place just for pokemon.

    [PokeCommunity.com] New here, hello!!

Welcome to PokeCommunity, friend! I hope you stay around because you're going to meet a lot of awesome and wonderful people around here. How is ORAS by the way? I haven't had the chance to go out and get the games so I'm really interested to hear what you think of them. Hoenn is actually my favorite region so it's a travesty for me that I haven't gotten it yet! Haha.

Based off of your welcome post, here are some forums you should check out. Everyone is really friendly around here so if you have any questions don't hesitate in sending people a Visitor Message (VM) on their profiles (which is accessible if you click on the person's username, if you haven't already figured that out.)
Again, hope you have an awesome time on the site! You've always got a bud to talk to if you want to hit me up sometime: anytime, anywhere (:

It's nice to see this place grows really quickly.

IIRC i started about the first gen with Yellow, after that G/S/C over to R/S/E/FR/LG etc until ORAS now. Can't get enough of Pokemon.
But thats not a big problem, since you can almost get it all here and refresh everything you missed out earlier.

BTW.. Welcome and have fun here like everyone else does ♪ .

    Cheers guys!

How is ORAS by the way? I haven't had the chance to go out and get the games so I'm really interested to hear what you think of them.

ORAS is great, some of the new features have really improved the game play, so definitely been one of my favs so far, but then again, I've loved all of them! I'd definitely recommend it if you were considering it.

But thats not a big problem, since you can almost get it all here and refresh everything you missed out earlier.

That's kind of what I'm hoping, plus with playing the remakes like ORAS, I'm hoping I can get a slight look at what the originals were like.

It's great to see how friendly and helpful people are here, its going to be great getting involved.

OR/AS are definitely amazing. BD I'm really hooked and have 260+ hours poured into my Alpha Sapphire, still going strong too heh. Much better than the originals without a doubt and that's saying a lot since I loved the originals to begin with. Glad to have such big Pokemon fans here! Welcome to the forum. :')

Plenty to discuss no matter when you got into Pokemon so be sure to stick around. Aaand if you're looking for those first few friends I'm down to chat anytime - feel free to shoot me a message if you'd like. Enjoy!

Whoa, I've only clocked 88 hours in AS myself, and I thought that was a lot! Thanks a lot Sheep :)

Is there really significant difference(s) between the games?

Well I cant say much about differences from the original ruby and sapphire, but there's been a few changes since X and Y. I particularly like the 'dexnav' which lets you sneak up on pokemon you can see rustling around in the long grass. There's also, avoiding as many spoilers as possible here, a wide range of legendaries. There's also a new cool flying experience with one of those legendaries which is pretty awesome. Something about the actual play just seems different too, but cant really say what it is exactly, just feels better in my personal opinion. If your'e looking for differences between the originals and ORAS then Sheep probably knows more:
