NFC - Nintendo Fan Club

I don't see the big deal, they've been saying that for a year already, it's just a flashier GC with a little more power. Shiggy isn't the first one to say that, even if it wasn't from a Nintendo executive, they've still been saying that for a long time. That's not the point though.

You guys are taking this out of context, you guys should read that again and see what he's actually trying to point out because it has nothing to do with the Wii's power, it has to do with the similarities in hardware, developer tools, and programs for Wii and GC. He is saying that it would be easy to update games that were on the GC and add Wii controls to them because the hardware, architecture, and programs are very similar to the GC. He never said anything about the power of the Wii. I can understand how that could be taken out of context though.

Hope that clears it up a bit.

I disagree I mean the Wii-Mote tecnology might be more complex then it looks.
 
So, just a little over a month until the Wii is released. A few stores will have their pre-orders full tomorrow, Best Buy think it is more fun to not accept pre-orders. So...who is going to be camping? XD

I'm not. That would mean being outdoors, and at night, and with other people. Three strikes. XD Not for me. Besides, Nintendo's not having any production issues. I should be fine if I show up when the Best Buy doors open like I did with the DS (there was no line over night at my local Best Buy, just one that formed in the morning, and I was at the front of it...which wasn't good because I got trampled. XD. So, I don't expect any problems this time either)

That video is really impressive (despite the blatant use of XP Media Centre, or at least a Royale look. I thought Nintendo liked the Mac look? :o). The Wii Remote looks really simple to develop for. Maybe the Wii should be the Developer System. I love how responsive it was during that Balloon Poppoing demo. That was great. Anyone notice that he was writing some of the numbers so that we could read them? So, wouldn't that mean he was writing them backwards in terms of himself?
 
That's really a great developer tool right there, it will make developing really easy and simple for developers. Yes, the video really is impressive. I think it would be fitting calling the Wii a Developer System, I think the DS was called that because of the innovation would appeal to developers but now the Wii has innovation and ease of development compared to consoles.

I find it funny how that guy likes his chicken/bird moves, I thought it was funny.

Well guys, I'm pissed, and I don't mean just a little. I called EBGames today at around 10 and guess what I heard when I asked if they had any pre-orders left "We're all sold out". I called a second one that's 30 mins away to ask if they got any and they said "We got 2 left". I thought "Well, I'll never get there in time", well if I had my damn license (the ones where I can drive on my own) then I bet I would have tried to get down there in time. Now that I think about it it takes like 30 mins to get to that first EBGames I called. I was really looking forward to pre-ordering one today. I know I'll likely get one at launch (I don't even want to think about going home Nov 19th with nothing but a Wiimote) but still, I wanted to have that receipt from EB in my hand and say "I'm getting a Wii at launch, this right here is proof of that".

So, who got to EBGames and got a chance to pre-order the Wii?

Well, too bad you couldn't get yours, I feel your pain. Let me just copy and paste something I posted somewhere else...

Well, I got to a Gamestop in Fresno, Ca at about 7:20 and I was the 9th person in line, my friend was 10th. At about 8:30 the manager arrived, entered the store and gave us a list of accessories and games we could preorder. When it was 9:45 there were 48 people in line, I know this because the manager told us later. The manager came out and counted down to 32 people and the rest had to go home without a Wii preorder. There were 36 Wii's available but the last four were for employees. Well, then she came by to each person and had them write down their name and phone number on a list and then she opened up and I waited 30 minutes until it was my turn to preorder, then I preordered the Wii and Twilight Princess.

That was my Wii preorder experience and at the end of it all it was awesome to have a Wii preorder receipt in my hand. Now I wait until November 19th.
 
Wow 7:20 am..... There is no way I could have gotten up that early.
But congrats on getting your pre-order, you're really lucky (or able to get up that early XD).
Oh well, I hope the "second batch" doesn't mean "No one that pre-orders from the second batch is getting a Wii a week after it launches". <_<;;
I'm going to have a long day Nov 19th....
 
Well, that's the time we got there, I woke up at around 6:30 to take a shower and then go to my friend's house who was my ride, we left at around 7:00 am.

It was pretty cool waiting though, about 15 or so people had a DS including me and my friend and it was a blast playing Mario Kart, Metroid Prime Hunters, Starfox and New Super Mario Bros minigames. I was average at Metroid Prime and Starfox and I did horrible in the New Super Mario Bros minigames but I did win the Mario Kart tournament(woot!). It wasn't really a knock-out tournament but we were playing by points and I had the most after 10 races. It was fun being around all those other gamers though.
 
Sounds like tons of fun. I'd like to do something like that (see, this is why having license rules). The only person I get to play on the DS is my brother, and even then he rarely plays.
I'd love to be in a big group like that and play/battle each other.
