Sam X should be getting his Wii right now or getting it in an hour. So dude, when you get on make sure you post some pics. Because you'll be the first person on PC to say you got the Wii. XD

I feel sorry for Robo right now, because he did go to a Wal-Mart for the midnight launch, but they said they aren't selling them till 6 am. So the poor guy didn't get one. XD
 
Crap...so much for getting one today. >>

I was at Walmart at midnight, but they came out and told us that they weren't selling them until 6AM this morning. So I came home, and I called them around 7AM and they were all sold out. Never mind the fact that last night there was a sign on the door that said "Please form a line outside for the Nintendo Wii. We will begin selling them at 12:01AM." But apparently that store's not a 24-hour Walmart, so it didn't apply.

So...guess I won't be getting a Wii on launch day unless by some miracle Toys R Us or someone has some left. -_-
 
Nope. I didn't get to Gamestop the day they did preorders. I figured it wouldn't be a big deal anyway, since consoles never sell out around here at launch. >>

I'm gonna make some phone calls after church...maybe TRU or Target or Circuit City will have some left...
TRU's supposed to get the biggest allocation, and not many people will go there probably because they did preorders, and most people think that they won't have any beyond preorders.

EDIT: After checking around online at different forums and stuff, it seems like Walmarts only got 20 each. Apparently Circuit City also got 20-25, as well as most other stores. So it seems to me that Nintendo really exaggerated their launch numbers.

EDIT #2: Okay, it's pretty much a done deal. There's no way you're getting a Wii today unless you have a preorder or you camped out all night last night. Pretty much all the Walmarts, Targets, Best Buys, Circuit Citys, Kmarts, and TRUs have either sold all their Wiis or handed out tickets for all their Wiis, according to online reports and forum posts. x.x

I am annoyed. Really annoyed. I've being going to my local Best Buy almost weekly since June asking about the Wii, release date, price, availability, pre-orders, etc.

So, annoying.

Yes to preorders, but not yet. Sometimes no. Preorders only on the site. Can't use gift certificiates on the site. Don't know what a Wii is. Blah

I went through months of nonsense with these people.

Best Buy was opening an hour earlier today. So, I got there at 7:02 with $300 in gift certificates. It was packed. I ran into Erica who said they were sold out. Only 90 units, and there as more than 90 people and we were in the back.

So, we went to Future Shop. Three hours until that opened. I chose not to wait in that. But, she did. Hopefully she got one.

Went to Costco. Not selling any. Went to Best Buy again. Line is shorter because people left but we were told not to bother staying.

Bah. Next shipment better be soon.
 
Please don't. It's not exactly going to make us Wii-less folks feel any better to see someone throwing pictures in our faces. -_-

Yes I am all messed up right now, right now I wanted to be playing the Wii, playing Red Steel, playing Zelda.... Playing the Wii...... sounds so far away right now.....

The Wii is kicking the PS3's butt all over the floor. It passed the PS3 with only 12 hours of selling (and not all stores had midnight launches).
 
I want to know what the frick happened to "1,000,000 at launch" and "Everyone who wants a Wii on launch day will have one".

According to that site, they've sold under 400,000. Where the frick are the other 600,000? Everywhere in the whole country...check that, CONTINENT, is sold out. >>

So much for a great launch, Nintendo. You really screwed us over this time.
 
What I don't understand if how that "consoles sold" number is still rising.

Where are all these consoles being sold that they didn't sell out in the morning?
 
Well, I have only had my Wii for about 12 hours and so far I have logged in 1:34 hours of Wii Sports and 5:16 hours of Zelda, I like how the system tells you what you've played.

Anyways, I wouldn't know about shortages but the Gamestop I got my Wii from is sold out of everything. Zelda and Rayman are the only sold out games, all extra Wiimotes, nunchucks, and classic controllers, and of course the Wii itself are sold out.

Arcanine, the Wii is great and so is Zelda, it starts off slow but then it gets going! Wii Sports is fun too, boxing doesn't seem to always work but everything is cool, especially bowling which is my favorite, tennis also rocks, haven't tried golf yet. Also, if you have Wi-Fi the Wii will ask you if you want to upgrade. I upgraded and it took forever and then at the end of it an "error" screen came up, I was mad. So I had to turn off the Wii and then turn it back on, so then it said the same thing and I tried it once more, again it took forever but this time it actually worked.

But atleast mine is guarnteed

Nothing is guaranteed these days, so make sure you keep the possibility in your mind that something could go wrong. I'm not trying to discourage you or anything, just bringing up a point. XD

Some people are overreacting though. Although it may just seem that way to me since I had no intent of getting one right away since no games come out until next year anyways.

FECK! I fecking worked myself to death trying to get money for the Wii. I slowly and patiently waited...and waited...and waited...but now look. I didn't even get one. ><; All I wanted was just to play TP...

Andy, I was crying too, sweetie.

Well there has to be some still out there. I mean I got home, called and no place had them. But Jorfe said his Wal-Mart had 3, and David said he called a store and they had 2. So They're still out there.

That is one of the things I love about the Wii. I mean sure it's there for parents to track how much time their kids play. But for me I love it to see how much time I've been playing on that game.

As soon as I see TP and or Red Steel I'm getting them. I'm not going to wait because I heard they are flying off, even if people don't got a Wii they're getting the games so when they do get one they don't have to find the games.

Considering that you may get a chance to get one before the 8th of Dec, you'll stop feeling the pain before me ;-;
Spain get it on the 9th.
and a tonne of people are getting it for christmas, so ya never know about the being last

I ordered it the second i got the e-mail from the retailer, and I'm actually going to go into my nearest game (the UK retailer) and check wether my Wii is safe.

Oh, and people, when you get your Wii make sure you use the wrist strap. Don't be like this poor sap (you got to be a member of the site to see the page, so I just copy/pasted it to a freewebs page, on top of that, it's on a forum. So I don't want to lose my head for linking to another forum XD).

What's ticking me off right now is on the GameSpot forums. Some people are going "The Wii is crap, I'm returning it. | I shouldn't have got the system.". I'm sure someone didn't get a system because of these people.
