NFC - Nintendo Fan Club

Looking at those numbers from NexGen Wars it looks like Nintendo shipped around 700,000 consoles for launch. I had heard that they would launch anywhere from 600,000 to 800,000 units and 700,000 is right in the middle of that. You have to realize that the 1,000,000 at launch from Nintendo was just their goal, when it finally came down to a couple of days before I was hearing that 600,000 to 800,000 number everywhere. I have been hearing from some sites though that Nintendo might have actually shipped and sold over 1,000,000 units which mean Nintendo kept their word but apparently the demand was higher than expected.

Anyways, my basic point was that Nintendo never promised 1,000,000 units so you don't have to say Nintendo lied to you, it was simply their goal and they couldn't reach it apparently. 700,000 on launch is still good even though the demand was higher than the supply. Don't go too crazy guys, I'm hearing that Nintendo should ship out it's second bunch of Wiis this week.

I want a frickin Wii. NOW. x.x

I'm going to go check for second shipments tomorrow. I noticed some identical, unmarked boxes behind the electronics counter in Walmart today that looked like they could hold three Wiis (what each box is supposed to hold), but I couldn't read the shipping labels on them to see if they were from Nintendo. -_-

Apparently Walmart, Target, and Circuit City may be receiving second shipments tomorrow, so I'm gonna go check before and after class. I'm definitely gonna pick up Zelda at Target tomorrow, since I saw it today and stupidly didn't buy it just to have it for when I get the Wii. x.x

And EB and GS are getting their second shipments today and tomorrow, but aren't allowed to sell them until Friday.

Well if stores like Wal-Mart is getting a second shipment tomorrow then I might be in luck. I mean sure my chances are still slim, but at least it's not Sunday and me getting out of church till after 1 pm.

Guess what that 8.8 rating did to Twilight Princess? Nothing except some mad Nintendo and Zelda fans. As of right now, Twilight Princess is already in the top 10 games of all time at two meta review sites. It is #2 at Gamerankings and #7 at Gamestats. Well, I guess without that rating it would probably be higher up in both, maybe #1 at Gamerankings. This just goes to show how great the game is, even with that bad rating it's managed to be in the top 10 on two meta review sites. Just for some more thought, Twilight Princess is #21 at Metacritic. Things could change though and it could go higher or lower depending on future reviews. Anyways, that's some good news I guess.

Yea I heard that it was 2nd on Gamerankings. And that is pretty darn good. I mean second only to OoT and only .7 points off. It could very well beat it. But still, GS' score would have uped the score right now.

Well X-Play had reviews on a few Wii games. I find it funny because.... well I'll just post the scores.

Red Steel: 3/5
Rayman Raving Rabbids: 4/5
Madden NFL 07: 4/5
Exicte Truck: 4/5
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess: 5/5

PS3 titles...
Genji: Days of the Blade: 2/5
Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire: 1/5
Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom: 2/5
Madden NFL 07: 3/5
Resistance: Fall of Man: 5/5

Anyone else find that funny? I mean the PS3 is so great yet the second highest PS3 game has the same rating as the lowest Wii game. And as far as I know, X-Play has never given a Madden game over a 3/5.
Yes I do get my reviews from X-Play. XD
And out of the three launch titles, they liked TP the best (sure they didn't say it. But TP got best in show at E3 05 and E3 06, and it had the least downsides).

In other news, Zelda Retrospective Part 6 is up. But Triffy, you don't need to watch this one. It deals with timelines and I just get this feeling you'll disagree with it all the way and then get mad or something. XD

I saw the Zelda retrospective. Pretty sure they screwed up on LA - I always thought it came right after ALttP. Triffy will be able to set that straight though, I'm sure... XD

For crap's sake, I hope they get those shipments tomorrow. I don't even feel like really playing any other games because I'm so upset about the Wii. It's like... "I could be playing TP right now. I don't wanna play this..." -_-

I really do feel sorry for you Arcanine for having to go to church instead of getting a Wii. But even now, consider checking around at stores you don't think would have it. I know that on the nineteenth, some people came from a kohls I think having just got a PS3 b/c nobody thought they would have it. Check some wierd places. I do hope you all get one though.

Every frickin store around here is sold out. It's insane. Even crappy stores like Sears and Kmart. Nintendo really screwed this launch up...

I'm going to go insane if I don't get the frickin thing soon. x.x

Why? The way you put it it's like I was forced to go. XD

I checked every single store. As I said in another thread "I called 10 stores (4 Wal-Marts, a Target, 2 EB Games, a Circuit City, a Toys R Us, a Sam's. That is every friggen store in a 30 min drive)". No one had a Wii, they were ALL sold out.

or they didn't screw it up and the wii is insanely popular.

Anyway, it turns out a TONNES of my friends at school want a wii, I know someone that is staying up till 1 oclock in the morning so they can order the Wii from amazon UK, they start their pre-orders tommorow.

EDIT:
to any UK dwelling Wii fans, theres a tour, touring the country (durh) its called 'Wii move you' and its all over the place till the new year (yes, after the launch XD) and the UK section of wii.com has information, I'm going to the Reading one, and a couple of games are there including: TP, Red Steel, WarioWare: Smooth Moves (Woo!) Rayman and a tonne of stuff, also a couple of new DS titles aswell.

Darn right, Morkula. I responded to the Zelda Retrospective in my LJ. Give me a sec and I'll copy and paste it. They did a lot wrong.

And...attention Wiiless Canadian gamers. Restocks this Friday. But it's half of what there was on Friday. And after that? Well, best of luck to you. And to me. I hope I get one.

EDIT: The following is a Zelda Scribe attacking a Timeline theory. You have been warned.

First of all, they kind of forgot a game. XD Where is Four Swords? Aonuma said that game was first (prior to The Minish Cap being released). That is like the only official placement we have and they forgot it. XD
Second. This is a split timeline. I hate split timelines. I'm sticking with a single timeline; always have, always will.
Link's Awakening's placement is way off. Several Japanese sources have confirmed that LA the sequel to A Link to the Past (this was before the Oracle Series; which I feel goes in-between the two). While one of Link's Nightmares (or the Wind Fish's Nightmares; I'm still not sure) is Ganon (who he would've fought during OoT), the other Nightmares include several ALttP villains including Agahnim. No way whatsoever could Link have had a Nightmare about Agahnim if Agahnim didn't even exist yet. @@
You can't return to Hyrule from Termina via an ocean. Termina is a parallel universe. An alternate dimension. To return to Hyrule you have to go back through the Lost Woods' portal, which is why Link is back in the Lost Woods at the end of MM.
The Sleeping Zelda Legend. This even gives me problems. Because you have so many princesses named Zelda by the time you can actually place this thing and have it make sense. Essentially, in TWW there is no Zelda. There is Tetra. Tetra was not born a princess. She was not born as Zelda. Her mother was pirate. She was born a pirate. Her name is Tetra. She is simply of the royal bloodline, but a pirate, not a princess in hiding. She is the heir to the thrown, but a pirate. Even after the events of TWW, she is still Tetra, not Zelda. If every female heir to the thrown was to be named Zelda, and she was named Tetra, then there's a problem here. More maybe TWW is just screwy since it having several Zelda being coincidentally named Zelda prior to the TWW makes no sense either. :p
But...to support what I was saying, here's something they missed. Part of the sleeping legend involves the Triforce of Courage being split. So...it is split prior to OoT, and yet complete again during OoT? That doesn't work.
Aonuma's comment may be wrong. At least I think it is, anyway. If you translate the Hylian text that is featured during the intro to TWW you can see that either he was mistaken, he was mistranslated, or something. But, the intro pretty much disproves his comment.
And...GameTrailers? Play a linked version of the Oracle Series, not just separately. It's the same Link. It's one big journey. How on earth could the same Link end up in two timelines at once?

I think I understood some of that. But then again I guess it takes playing all LoZ games to understand it all... XD

More Wiis.... This Friday I am going to try really really really really hard to get to the store in time to get one (I mean wake up at 6 or 7 am.... I never wake up that early....).

https://gonintendo.com/?p=9054
Now we know where all the Wiis went....

https://gonintendo.com/?p=9029
All I can say is... WTF? O_O

You should all come to Portugal, where everybody wants to buy the PS3. Too bad for those suckers. XD;

Well,
All of my friends and known ppl wants X-Box 360^^
No interests for Wii or PS3.
Same as me.

That guy probably faked it, or did it on purpose
if you've seen the full picture, you'll see his face,he's smiling his ears off.

Also, yep, amazon 7 minutes, this had my dad talking about the Wii, he's eager to see what its like, which shows nintendo is drawing intrest to it.

Well, I'm off to an event next week
I might get pictures and maybe some swag (woo!)

Hehehe.

Let go of the Wii-mote for massive damage!

This guy seems like a moron ... oh wellz :P
I don't know, for some reason that crack doesn't look right. I mean I would think if something as big as the Wiimote (people says it's small, but keep reading) hit it then it'd make a larger crack on it. To me it looks like a rock hitting a windshield crack, not something the size of a Wiimote crack.
