It's blasphemy I tell you! May the godesses send a flood upon his house!

Pfff, so this is the worst review so far. Big deal. The others reviews have been either perfect scores or within a 90-something% range. We can let an 8.8 slip by.

Here is what I said in the sticked GS thread about the TP review.

"I am speechless. And this is BS, there is no way best Zelda game (what Nintendo said) to date can get a crappy 8.8. No I haven't played the game, but I find it funny that everyone else that has gave the game far higher. This is BS on GameSpot's part, Jeff's review of crap. I was thinking "Well since GS been going down on reviews maybe TP will get a 9.5 at the highest" but something that lower then a 9 is stupid. Jeff needs to quit reviewing games because he has totally lost it lately. He has turned into a MS dude that has MS on his mind and doesn't care about anything other then MS. He is the one who gave Gears of War a 9.6. a 9.6? And he gives Zelda a 8.8, BS! Flat out BS. Do I care for GS reviews? No, not anymore, not after crap like this."

Wow, GoW is such an over-rated game, trust me I have played it. While the new cover system kicks ass for the first hour or so it gets very repetitive really fast and it's probably the easiest game I have ever played...ever. Even on the so-called "Insane" difficulty it's very easy because the cover system is too forgiving. Are you about to die? No problem, just hide behind that thing over there for about three seconds and you're good to go with all your life back. It's not a crappy game but it is certainly not a wonderful game. This is supposed to be the next Halo?

I had to get that off my chest because...I just did. We are talking reviews anyway and it happened to come up before my post, that's all I needed for me to say that.

Anyways, TP getting an 8.8 doesn't bother me since I have a good explanation about why he rated it that way. This guy obviously wants to feel like some big time critic so he slams TP like that. He rated it like that because he wants to be unique in the way that he gave TP a low score so he's a critic now. He's either really egotistical and wants attention from the gaming community or the game was too hard for him so he's mad about that.

I could be totally wrong though, he might actually think TP deserved that but if you gave TP an 8.8 GoW should have been given at the most an 8 for such a repetitive and easy game. I even asked my brother when we passed it, "What did you think?" He answered me with this: "It was ok but what stops it from being great is that it only introduced one new thing that was awesome but it is so short and you do the same thing over and over that it doesn't even matter. You know what, that game sucks, put on Halo 2." I swear those were his exact words, he even proofread them for me right now.

My point is that if he gave Gears a 9.6 and Zelda an 8.8 he must be wanting attention, he wants his name to be heard. If I could talk to him I would say this: "You don't compare Zelda games to other games, you compare Zelda games to other Zelda games. So if TP was crappier than freaking 4 Swords then that's cool, it's your opinion but Gears a 9.6? Just for comparison purposes, that game had to be the easiest game I've ever played on it's highest difficulty and it's very repetitive. You're either seeking attention or you're nostalgic fanboy. You probably didn't even beat TP and you rushed your review. Maybe you sucked at it too, don't blame the game for your own faults."

Oh and by the way, it could still be his honest opinion but I doubt that because after reading his review he has a prett crappy opinion. No, not all opinions are equal, some opinions have better reasoning behind them than others.

One more thing, since we are Nintendo fans of course we are going to be mad so some of this might not be fair since we haven't played the game but I refuse to accept the possibility that GoW is better than TP. I'm a bit nostalgic right now too since I have a natural bias towards Nintendo, so I might be overreacting. Also, an 8.8 is still good, remember that, and that rating won't mean a thing when Nintendo has yet another game in the top ten of all time in TP, believe it. It could even still go #1, so don't fret.

I heard that GoW is a good game. But I also heard that 9.6 is really pushing it. So I guess it was right.
I just find it funny that he gives such a high rating to that yet gives TP so low.

I do think he was unfair with it, or just wanted to get a name for himself in giving TP a poor rating. And I also think this because....

9.5/10 from IGN, 10/10 from 1UP, GameSpy 5/5 and so on. How can these raters say TP is the best Zelda game, say the game gets high marks and so on. Yet Jeff says the game gets an 8.8? There is one thing I agree with him about TP, it doesn't talk. I mean sure it's LoZ and it'd have a totally different fill. But I wish it talked.

He is stupid for saying the controls sucks, I mean IGN Matt said that you're crazy for going with the GC ver of TP yet Jeff says sword fighting should have been done with a button. That is crazy, I was happy when TP was said to use the Wiimote to slash, because it's what it is there for.
The guy just flat out needs help. TP is like the 5th lowest rated Zelda game
on GS. And that is just crazy. If any game should get re-rated then it should be this one. Because 8.8 for the best Zelda game is CRAZY. I don't care if it only gets .2 points higher. But it needs to be in the 9.0 range. I am not a Zelda fanboy, I want to play Red Steel more. But I know that this Zelda game should be rated far far higher. I was speechless when I first saw the rating, and I don't mean that as in a metaphor. I mean it as in I couldn't find the words to say something. That's how shocked I was when I saw the rating. I was looking for a 9.5 and I saw a 8.8.

The IGN review was good, I was looking for a little higher (9.7) but after seeing the GS review I think 9.5 is pretty damn good (Matt did say that TP is the best Zelda game).

With TP, I'm a little distressed. If the game strays from the class Zelda formula I worry (even though I shouldn't. I know it'll be fine). Why do they repeat stuff in the traditional action icon and in the center of the screen? Seems annoying. And Link's sheild seems to be on autopilot.

and they gave Wind Waker a 9.3
I've played TP (the GC version not the Wii) and after two minutes of gameplay, I was enjoying myself much more then I did with Wind Waker, okay the Wii version might be different but, I'm a Zelda fan, so no-matter what, I'll enjoy it, even if I find it hard.

Anyway
My wii is guarnteed for straight delivery on the 8th <3.

They really screwed it up with the TP review. And I'll be hard for them to make me trust their reviews again.

And to make matters worse for GS, they gave Red Steel a 5.5. Said they don't like how it doesn't have blood or cussing in the game.

This is what I said about the reviews on TP and Red Steel (no need to make some long post in here when I say it all in there).

Thats crap. I mean, with all the bad hype for red steel, I can almost see a score that low, but a 6 still seems like it would make more sense. And an 8.8 on the best zelda game ever? Because its too much like Zelda!? How the heck does that make sense (for lack of stronger words)?! If Zelda got a score that low, its pretty likely that reviews for the Wii will make even less sense than review scores are now, and disagree with the vast majority of recent reviews of games I've played. Oh well. Maybe itll reduce the number of people in line when I go tonight to get the Wii. Who else is camping out?

I'd like to camp out, but my parents wouldn't let me. XD

Either GameSpot has really drunk and idiotic reviewers or they just plain...don't know how to give a proper review...
I just got done watching the IGN review. They agreed on the voice acting, and the songs. But on the controls they were way different. Jeff on GS said a button would have been better. Matt from IGN said he won't go back to the old style.

I think they are just trying to be different. Y'know get more attention by not standing by the Wii.

That, or they are being paid off by Microsoft and/or Sony :P
If that's their plan then they need to stay way from reviewing Nintendo games. Because like I said in my GS Blog, people are changing their minds about the Wii and Wii games. So if GS wants to be different then they can be different by not reviewing any Wii games (they shouldn't review if they aren't going to be fair).

So how many of you are going to get the Wii at midnight? Anybody?

I am going to go and get it at midnight, I'm happy that I don't have to camp out.

Forget about GS already, TP will still probably be in the top 10 ever which is what I wanted to see. Well, I was hoping that it would be #1 but so far, even with an 8.8, most meta-review sites have it pretty high up.

You Eastern time zone people get the Wii three hours before me, you are lucky, 5 more hours until I get my Wii.

Well you Americans get it a few weeks before me, so stop your whining! XD

But yeah, I plan to get it at midnight ... but school is on the next day.

I think what I'll do is get home, sleep for a few hours (I don't know how I will be able to though), wake up at 10 PM, go to the store and wait till midnight, pick up shiny new Wii console (and in the process knock someone out :P), go home and play till 7 o'clock, then go to school.

Then get home from school and burn my eyes out by playing all weekend.

I doubt all of that will occur ... but definitely the knocking someone out part XD

You know what sucks about a midnight launch coupled with the fact that I'm under 18 years old? The county curfew. The curfew says that no one under the age of 18 can be outside at any time between the hours of 10:00 pm and 5:00 am. This means I'm not supposed to be out and if I am, I will probably get taken to a station and then my parents will have to pick me up, that would suck. So I'm just going to go anyway and just wear a hoody or something. I doubt there is going to be police like at the PS3 lines but if there is I am going to have to be careful.

Anyways, enough about that, I can't wait for the Wii!!! It's like waiting for Christmas x 1000! This day has felt so long!
