Right when you said that this place exploded. XD

I did find it strange for him to say that. But if that's what he thinks about the controller then it's his loss.

I agree with you, it's his loss. Besides that, he's always been a very strong Sony supporter and he backs up Sony, not that it has anything to do with Sony directly.

Them loony fanboys will always be around to mess up everything and make fools of not only themselves but Nintendo fans. I'm what you call a "Hard Core Nintendo Fanboy", normal fanboys will just sit there all day long going "Nintendo rulezzz Sony/Microsoft suckzzzz" and have nothing to back up their claim. I on the other had will search things out, I hate someone putting down Nintendo so I'll try to get out there and prove them wrong. And that's the difference in a normal fanboy and some fanboy like me.

Amen. A "real" fanboy who wants to make his company look good backs his statements up with facts, if you don't you'll end up looking stupid and you'll also make Nintendo/Sony/MS look bad.

Yeah.
Red Steel looks and sounds awsome. I read about it in GI this month and its making me want the Revolution even more. What's your opinions?

I think that I might just get this game if there aren't any better options out there for a FPS game. The first games that I want to get for the Rev are the games that Nintendo or their 2nd partys make, like Smash Bros and Prime 3, then I will look for third parties.

(go out there to the 360 fanboys you'll see that about all they talk about when it comes to the 360 is the graphics it has. They don't care about gameplay, controllers or anything like that, it's all about graphics).

You're right, I know a couple of people who have a 360 and all they ever talk about is the graphics and when I ask them if a certain game they have it's always, "It's an OK game." Some people do say that they love Obliviion though and I wouldn't know but it looks like a good game but with nothing new. That's what Nintendo wants to do, give you fun quality games that give you a new experience. They've proved it with the DS and I hope they continue with the Rev.

o.o Never heard about that. Well, yeah, it's his loss. Even though he criticizes the Revmote I believe it will make a big impact in the gaming market.

Talk about n00bs -.-

Well, I am looking forward to Nintendo's own games too, and I would just buy an official Nintendo one first. But I am also excited to just take a look at what's the feel of Red Steel, since it seems to be using right away the max potential of the RevMote.

Talk about Sony fanboys too. I think that the reason why 90% of the people bought the PSP was totally about graphics. A friend of mine got the PSP and all he talks about is graphics. My friend's main comments about it:
  • Graphics
  • Graphics
  • More Graphics
  • ...and that the game is cool because of the Graphics.
It even seems as if he didn't care about the quality of the game or even the storyline of one game he has. And with that I agree. Nintendo was capable of making a great breakthrough by showing that you don't need the best graphics in the planet to make some of the best games ever, and that you actually enjoy.

Also, my friend has a 360, and believe me, come on. Those aren't fantastic, awesome graphics. I believe that the GCN could do better with Super Mario Sunshine other than Quake 4 for the 360.

I just heard the news elsewhere, and I think it's a ridiculous name. I understand what they are trying to do, but Revolution was SO much better...this new name can easily be made fun of, even by the younger target audience!

--FG

Yeah I think Revolution is a much more suitable name since it'll appeal for more older and mature people, Wii on the other hand sounds a bit like a slang used by kids or something.

Jesus (DON'T SAY JESUS' NAME IN VAIN FOR GOD'S SAKE!). I can't believe this.

Imagine like:

"I'm going to get a Wii! ^^" Said the Nintendo fanboy as he hopped along happily on path.
"OMG LIEAK WTF HAHAA OLOLOL!1!1 U BAI WII LOL DATS SOO FUNI!!111" Said the XBX360 addict while he pointed and laughed at his humilitation.

This will be the talk of the club for some time now (I need to so make a new banner for the club XD).

If you done read my post in the Wii thread in OG then this might look like you read it because I'll likely be saying much of the same stuff (I think....., I'm typing this before the rest of the post so I don't know XD), and if you done read my LJ then yea it's the same.

The Nintendo Wii, yea it's a bit strange and sounds like a stupid name but I don't mind it all that much...
I'm not going to go out and say "SCREW YOU NINTENDO FOR GIVING SUCH A STUPID NAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" or get all pissed because they won't change it. The "Revolution" just wouldn't have worked, and we all knew Nintendo was going to change the name. As Blaze said before the name would have had copyright issues and all sorts of stuff they didn't need. And the name was a little too generic for them.
Nintendo's past systems do tend to have a meaning behind it. "Dual Screen" for the two screens, "Game Cube" Cube for the shape of the system, "N64" for the 64 bit, "Nintendo Entertainment System" it's a game system (aka Entertainment System), "VirtualBoy" for the Virtual reality thing (the GameBoy is the only one that really doesn't have a meaning). And now we got the "Wii", the "i" is for the controller shape and the "ii" is for like people getting together and playing. IMO they should have went with a better name. But it'll stick, and in the end the name "Wii" won't kill anyone. And it's not like someone is going to change their mind on buying it just because of the name. That is almost the very same as 360 owners saying "I bought my 360 only because of the graphics".

At first I was really confused on why Nintendo would call the system Wii, I didn't mind the name but I was like why Wii? Then I read some interviews and I understood the meaning, it's pretty clever. Eventually everyone will get used to it, it's already growing on me, I like it. I have only one thing to say:

Wii will rock you!![lame/]

I about bashed my head in when I first heard the name, but I've calmed down now. I'll still probably call it the Rev.

I personally hope that eather:
A.) Cruel, sick joke.
or
B.) They decide to rechange the name.

I think even Remo would have been a better name. Less easy to make fun of...

Nintendo Wii,

One might believe it sounds stupid, pointless, and embarrassing. However Wii is something that is easy to remember, unique, and totally matches the whole persona of what Nintendo is trying to capitalize on with the new system.

It is not about YOU or ME it is about WII ;D

Some might notice a comparison between Intel Viiv and Nintendo Wii, so remember coincidences never happen in the computer industry.

All I know is that Nintendo has a few tricks up it's sleeves and Mushroom Kingdom - Nintendo

Edit: People have stated Nintendo Wii is like a souped up Xbox, but as a 360 Owner I can tell you that it too is only a souped up Xbox. So in literal terms, I do not expect a major difference in graphics.

To me the shock will go away like the Wii remote (saying Wii and not Rev sounded so strange XD). It's already been a day and "Wii" does sound pretty good and has grown on me.

Like I said, they tend to pick names that has meanings behind them.

That was bad Blaze. XD

I just hope we find out them "tricks" at E3. Nintendo needs to pull out it's last ace and just get everything out in the open. If it's something big we can shut up the Sony/Microsoft fanboys, if it's not all that big then we can talk about it.

From what I've heard (X-Play, sites and so on) the 360 and Xbox isn't that far apart. Other then some graphics changes on HDTVs. So if you're like me and you don't have an HDTV the XBox games and 360 games would look more or less the same. And I think that's sad for a system that bases almost everything on game graphics (looks killer in HD, looks normal on a TV).

Oh and here's a little poll....

Some high NoA guy comments on the Wii.

And something else.

Well, I'm now over, and suprisingly I havn't heard any fanboy insults yet.

I'm curious about Elebits. It sounds interesting.

Nothing much to add... -_-

Well? What do you think about it? Reggie says "a racing game at E3 where you use the core controller in a very different way.", hm... I don't know what to think about this. Racing games weren't on my list of things I'd like to use the remote for. Now do you think he's talking about some sort of shell or do you think he means use the remote as is?
To me racing around with the remote just deson't sound too good...

I hope he's talking about a shell...unless you use the remote as like a joystick controller instead of a steering wheel? o_o;

*needs good quality review/article writers for his new Nintendo site - PM if you're interested* </shameless advertisement that Andy said I could do> XD

You know what would be really cool, although highly unlikely? If they actually made different controller shells for different games. Like a steering wheel shell for racing games, a flight-controller thingiemabobber for flight games, etc. Highly doubtful, but it would be interesting.

Having all sorts of shells would be great and could be done. But they won't make everyone go out and buy tons of shells for tons of different games. Nintendo really isn't one to make tons of things to make money. Sure they make money but look at the N64, I only count like 3 things you could plug into the bottom of the contoller (not counting the memory card).

OH OH I got a sweet name for the Rev that has nothing to do with what it does. How about the "Nintendo Galaxy"? Nothing to do with what it does but sounds cool. XD

Haha I can't wait to use the "Wiimote" XD

Anyways, I think *Wii* is good name now. I mean good there be a subpliminal message in the name? When your on a roller coaster, and shocked what do you say? WHEEEEEEEEEE < Exactly ;P

I am sure there will be a Wii Racer Shell ;P with the remote locking in the middle. I can already see it in my head.

I AM SO EXCITED :D

And Andy, 360 isn't that good on HDTV. It stills looks basically the same :P

Blaze you're nuts. Saying "WHEEEEEEEEEE" when playing games isn't the reaction I'd like. XD

And seeing how someone made a mock up shell for a steering wheel I'd say yea you should be able to know how one looks like. XD

I don't know, some of the games I saw at stores looked really good on HDTVs. I saw something more then a little difference in PS2/GC/XBox graphics and the graphics of the 360 on an HDTV.
