NFC - Nintendo Fan Club

EDIT: Gah, people! Neither Andy nor Mork is online, and Triffy is on vacation. That means I have to edit instead of post. :< But whatever. Today, I got my Wii component cables! :D They're really thick, and come in a nice box. You just plug them into the A/V port on the Wii, and then there are five plugs for your TV. At first, my TV didn't register them as component and made it black and white, but I eventually got it to behave.

I tried it on my little 720p TV with widescreen and 480p enabled, and it did look prettier. Not...like, a whole lot, but it'd certainly be noticeable if you had a large HDTV. (As apparently all of my friends do) If you do go that route, make sure to set it to 16:9 after selecting 480p. I didn't at first, and wondered why it was so stretched. xD So yeah. They're coolness.

The package also had a Wii safety sheet, with more Wiimote-strap stuff on it. o_o It told you what anyone should realize--wear the strap and do not throw the remote. But it just goes to show that Nintendo is being very responsible, and isn't liable in any way.
That's because we're lazy fools. XD

You're lucky to grab some component cables.... I don't even have an HDTV to go with them if I had them (well my dad has an HDTV in the living room, but my parents is always watching TV so it's total crap if I want to play XD).
And it came with wrist straps? In a cable box? Ok.... XD

OH OH OH What kind of TV do you got?

That reminds me... I bought Wii Points today! I saw them beside some Video Cables (Some were component, others composite, I think). It was like the only box left with 2000 points so I just grabbed it, so now I managed to waste them in 5 minutes with Super Mario 64, Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda. Pretty awesome I tell ya, and believe me, it's the first time I ever play a real NES game. XD
I also got some Wii Points a few days back, and also got Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda (I still got 1000 points left). So yea, you did good picking them games. XD

Yeah, you made really good choices. :D How many Wii points is it to a dollar, again?
$1 buck is 100 points. Unless you go to some places that sell Wii Point cards for $25 bucks....

Oh and speaking of VC games...

Not bad, but most of us most likely already know what games we want. XD

Nono, just a warning about playing safely. o.o; And I have, a, uh...Panasonic, 32"? regular TV. I wish that I had Wifi though, since I have a Classic controller that's sitting around doing nothing. XD; They need more N64 games, also.

You're right. But I'm happy with Nintendo's current strategy. I mean, releasing every single good game out there right away isn't pretty smart, since for the rest of eternity Nintendo will have to fill the service out with all the other games that are left. I think that one good, classic game every rare once in a while is a good strategy. Does guarantee us a surprise now and then, that's for sure. XD

I agree

Eledees is the new european name for elebits (thanks waka)

Eledees: Its not about old people I swear!

XD I see you're lurking around the news articles I make.

But seriously. The name sucks. Why a name change anyways? I've never seen "Elebits" copyrighted. Reminds me of the book "Eldest".

I love play-nintendo its awesome, and a friend helps run it XD

Thats a good book, but it does actually

Hence my joke, but with elderly instead of eldest

I don't exactly run it... XD

But yeah. I sure hope Konami doesn't change anything else other than the name. Because it sure is alright the way it is now... XD

Ok, time for a posting. XD

Both IGN and GameTrailers has their Game of the Year stuff up.

IGN: https://bestof.ign.com/2006/overall/1.html
(Remember, the link you click is to the first list, of over all best games, not the Game of the Year).

GameTrailers: https://www.gametrailers.com/gtawards06.php
And if you're on Dial-Up or something slow then just click the spoiler and it'll take the GotY for GT.
Spoiler:

Isn't that just the saddest thing you've seen? XD

I hope we get some nice VC games Monday.... that way I'll have some more games to play on the VC. XD

Oh, and which VC games does everyone have or want?

Edit: GS just got their review of WarioWare in...... and it's a shocker.......

Right, Jeff. A two-hour-long batch of minigames is better than a 40-hour epic Zelda game. Try again. >>

Really though, Warioware might very well deserve a 9.1. But there's no way it's better than TP. TP should have at least a 9.5 if Warioware got a 9.1.

I wonder what criteria they're using to rate Wii games. It's widely known that the Wii is a "family" console, as well as being perfect for party games and group play. Just a passing thought, but I wonder if GameSpot are placing emphasis on multiplayer and family games. Hence the reason WarioWare scored higher than Twilight Princess, because WarioWare is an awesome party game that all of the family can play.

I'm probably wrong but, like I said, it was just a passing thought.

Mm...WarioWare is incredibly addictive and has excellent replay value. I often finding myself replaying Touched! or Twisted on my DS instead of ALttP or TMC. But, that's because it's a portable system and you don't also want to be in an epic. I'm not too sure how WarioWare would do on the console. I mean...Mega MicroGame$ was nothing special, but this certainly does look like an excellent use of the remote.

Yeah in ONM (the uk offical magazine) TP got 97 percent and Warioware got 91 along with Wii Play and Wii Sports

Reading about all of these scores really makes that Twilight Princess score look awful. o_o; I mean, Wii Sports is a phenomenal entry game but I don't understand how it's better all-around that TP. These recent scores feel a little artificially high--like they're trying to get back in the good graces of the majority, that is, the Wii fans.

Quoted for truth.

Anyway, I want excite truck, but I'm not totally sure on it, so can anyone sway it for me

I'm planning on getting Excite Truck once it drops in price. I've heard some mixed opinions of it, and I'm not exactly sure if it's worth $50 for me or not. Seems a bit too arcade-racing-ish for me. =/

If I could get it as a 7-day rental, I'd probably try it then. That's why I rented Trauma Center--I just like collecting the novelty experiences out there for the Wii right now. XD;

Well, I am thinking about either getting Monkey Ball or Rayman for my Wii soon, but I could also get a tablet for me PC so I can draw with that, what do you lot think I should do?
