Nintendo 3DS Discussion

my favorite game for the 3ds is animal crossing right now. i just love it so much interacting and the graphics are great! i love it.

I've ran into this article recently, and according to them, Nintendo 3DS has been the best-selling video game console for the last three months. I'm personally very happy about this. I'm a huge Nintendo fan, and I'd like to see them succeed as much as they possibly can.

Two words : Animal Crossing. But still, I'm not gonna get the 3DS. Most of the games on it don't interest me really much except Pokemon or Fire Emblem. And maybe the fact that I'm saving up for a PS4. But still if I had to buy a handheld it would be the Vita.

I just bought my 3DS about two weeks ago. An original, not XL. I didn't have the money for the upgrade sadly. I really only bought it for Pokemon XY but then I realised there was Fire Emblem Awakening too... derp -w-

Right now I just alternate between using it and my original DS while the other is charging. I don't even have any 3DS games yet so my only experience with the 3D graphics is through the demos for FE Awakening and PMD Gates to Infinity.

I'd appreciate any recommendations.

I got my 3DS at launch so I spent more >.< But the Ambassador games are pretty good so I'm happy. The two games I play the most are Fire Emblem: Awakening and Shin Megami Tensei IV.

I'd recommend SMT IV to anyone who hasn't bought it yet. Go check it out online, it's pretty cool. (Also if you register it on Club Nintendo with Fire Emblem you'll get $30 free eShop credit which is cool, though it's only for the US and Canada :/)

I have one of the Midnight Purple 3DS Originals, however it's starting to wear out a bit as it's R button is starting to go :(. However, they don't have a Purple 3DS XL so I'm going to find it hard to upgrade anytime soon.

I own Kid Icarus Uprising, Fire Emblem Awakening, Shin Megumi Tensei IV, Mario Kart 7, New Super Mario Bros 2, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Rhythm Thief, Animal Crossing: New Leaf. I also own several 3DS Downloads and Virtual Console titles! I love them all!

I have a launch day (urrgh..) Aqua Blue 3DS, and its... okay? It's very worn out from playing Monster Hunter and Pokémon, but still plays fine. I don't really care for most of the 3DS games; Mario Kart 7 and Kid Icarus Uprising were awful.

What I really want is a 3DS Lite to come out, so it can fix the uncomfortable design and horrible battery life. Plus, I think that the 3DS XL is a bit too large.

I'll agree with you there. When the girl first showed me the console in store I thought "What's that metal looking thing? Why is it so shiny?". Once I actually got home, unboxed it and held it a little I thought it felt a little uncomfortable, the start, select and home buttons were in an odd place and the D-pad is a little awkward for me to use. The stylus is also in a very weird place and the battery only lasted about 4 hours after full charge which is about the same time as my years old DSLite.

But hey, I spent my money for it so I'll overlook these disagreements on design.

If your playing the system mostly for Monster Hunter, I would recommend getting the Circle Pad Pro attachment, it really does fix alot of the ergonomic issues of the system and the game plays nicer as well. It doesn't really help the battery issue but I heard there were decent after-market batteries that can help fix that as well.

I don't think making the system lighter or smaller is going to fix any issues with comfortability. I feel like adding a Circle Pad Pro like backrest would do wonders for the system.

Also, just out of curiosity, why do you dislike Mario Kart 7, I personally thought it was leagues better than Mario Kart Wii. I actually consider it my second favourite after the Mario Kart DS ^_^

I love my 3DS XL. It was a good gift from a friend. The graphics are beautiful but the controls take some time getting used to.

Have a launch day ambassador 3DS and love it. Ambassador games are cool.

Best game on the system is easily Kid Icarus Uprising. Favorite gotta be Luigi's Mansion 2, however. Quite amazing how the first party output in this system has been constantly good, with every game from Nintendo being great to GOTY-tier.

...Well, everything except Fire Emblem Awakening. A shame we got that stain on the 3DS's output.
I have another discussion point for those interested! What has been your favorite game released for the 3DS and why?

As of now, I'm thinking I'd probably like Rayman Origins the most, but New Leaf is a close second.
Do yourself a favor and play Rayman Origins on every other system that it's available on. Preferably Vita or PC. 3DS version is terrible.

I can get why someone would dislike MK7 (even if they're WRONG), but how is Kid Icarus Uprising awful?

And I'm not taking any controls complaints unless you're left handed. In which case, it's understandable. (but still WRONG)

I have a post-price drop Cosmo black 3ds and love it. favorite games are Mario 3d land, Mario Kart 7, and M&L Dream Team. Multiplayer games aren't very fun without friends tho. (I only have one and he doesn't have internet!)

I currently own a standard blue 3DS XL and I've loved it since I've had it. The only two 3DS games I own for it now are Heroes of Ruin (which I never play anymore, but it was given to me by a good friend as a starter game for me), and Aninal Crossing: New Leaf. Since I play a lot of New Leaf, I've been winding up charging it somehow on an almost daily basis xD
