If it's something like a fly or a cockroach (thankfully I don't recall seeing the latter here much at all), they're dead. Especially the flies, but it's annoying because what I get are fruit flies and those seem to be a pain to get rid of. I mean, I could just give up fruit and not have to deal with them at all, but forget that!
Anything else I'll catch and release. Even spiders. I've done that to plenty of spiders, though I've stopped doing even that as much in recent years because apparently that's still not the best option for what I want to accomplish (good chances are it's a spider that's adapted to living in human places and can't survive long out in the wild anyway - I don't want to kill them, I just want them out of my way!). Ideally I'll just let the spider be, and let it do its own thing in a corner while it avoids me.
Although bees and wasps...oh I'll try to put them outside for sure. Usually by opening a door and getting something to hide behind (a broom comes to mind), and making vague motions in the direction of said bee while I am halfway across the room in the hopes it gets the hint. Please bee, please.
