Introduction
Welcome to 2010's Hack of the Year competition. Here you can nominate your favourite hacks for recognition of the highest form. 2010's been an up and down year for ROM Hacking. We've seen some hacks stand-out and seen some real down points. But here on PC we're quite content with how things have gone. We've keep two moderators consistent for the past year, we've not lost a great deal of hacks, our main problem has been hacks being pushed into the Hacks Showcase. Granted that doesn't happen a lot, but it'd be a great deal nicer if it did happen more. Well, me rambling about past experiences isn't the best thing to be reading, especially when you just want to get on and vote for your favourite hacks!Ineligible Hacks
- Pokémon Genesis - Author requested hack to be taken out
- Pokémon Crono - Author requested hack to be taken out
- Pokémon Shiny Gold - Author requested hack to be taken out
- Pokémon Azure Horizons - Winner of HotY 2009

- Pokémon Prism - Winner of HotY 2007

Rules & Guidelines
- You may not vote for any of the hacks listed above
- You may not vote for your own hack
- You may not vote for more than one hack per category
- You must complete every category for your vote to be counted, it will be deleted otherwise
- Do not vote upon the author's personal record or progress; we're evaluating the hacks
- Any posts that aren't nominations or do not follow the rules will be deleted, there is a separate thread for discussion
- Make sure you have tried as many hacks as possible before you vote
- Nominations last October 10th 2010 - November 10th 2010
How to Vote
Nominations are near enough the same as last year's format. If you remember it from last year then there's going to be no excuses as to why your posts will break rules. The following categories are what you may vote for hacks in:Best Mapping - the hack that you think has the best overall mapping
Best Scripting - the hack that you think utilises scripting commands and techniques to the best possible effect
Most Graphical Appeal - the hack that you think has the best aesthetic appeal
Best Storyline - the hack that you think has the best storyline
Best Gameplay - the hack that you think plays out the best
Most Engaging Hack - the hack that has left you wanting more the most
Overall Favourite - your favourite hack
For every category a hack is nominated in it gains a point (HotM winners from 2010 are given three points as reward for winning HotM) here is an example:
Jake Reardon's vote said:Best Mapping: Azure Horizons
Best Scripting: Genesis
Most Graphical Appeal: Shiny Gold
Best Storyline: Genesis
Best Gameplay: rijionAdventures
Most Engaging Hack: Prism
Overall Favourite: Genesis
Now, this vote obviously isn't valid according to the rules we've put down. However, if it were to be valid the points would be awarded like such: Genesis = 3, Azure Horizons = 1, Shiny Gold = 1, Prism = 1, rijionAdventures = 1. The top five hacks with the most points will be moved onto a second round. Hacks with most points in a specific category will be given an individual award such as 'Best Mapping' or 'Most Engaging Hack'. A 'Fan Favourite' award will also be given for the hack with the most points overall after Round 1.
