Noob-The almost official word of the english language.

Okay. I knew the English language was crazy, but sheesh!! xDD N00b? Seriously? The one millonth English word could be n00b? They must have run out of words to choose from....

I hope the millionth word turns out to be "defriend" XD Like on Facebook, when you defriend someone. of course no one does that because they want as many friends as possible lol

Is it only me who fails to see what the fuss is about? So the English language is adopting a term from the Internet? Big deal. The English language is always evolving to culture - what sort of stuff would we be saying if English had never evolved? We'd be stuck in the linguistic world of Shakespeare and Samuel Johnson at best, and the 5th century Anglo-Saxons at worst. The English language has had many loanwords from different languages and cultures, so it's not surprising that the language is adapting to borrow words from the media. It's not like it hasn't happened before - the Oxford English Dictionary lists "d'oh!" as a word, if I remember correctly, due to its prevalent usage after coming to prominence in The Simpsons. As far as "noob" apparently becoming the millionth word in the English language is concerned, it's highly unlikely that it will be the millionth exactly - there are a whole host of other words, and not just ones that are technology- or media-related.

Ugh, I bloody well hope not. That word is so annoying.

I hope it's not made a real word. Sure, it's not a HUGE deal...
But there's this kid in my school who goes around calling people "noobs". EXTREMELY ANNOYING.
With this he'd have the excuse that it's a real word.

Since it's a real word and then not an e-slang, people could use it on essays, and...
Oh gosh, I can't see this being "good" in any way.

I think that last year "w00t" was made an official word.

noob hmmm an official word shouldn't it be like none slang well can't wait to see it in a dictionary then be a vocab word for my little sisters.

I don't see what people are so upset about, languages evolve over time. Besides, I don't need some comitee to tell me what's a word. Noob has been a word for years, as long as a large amount of people know what it means. it's a word.

Seriously what the hell. We fell so low that the 1 millionth word will be noob? I just can't get that can you guys?

It's a word. People use it. Why shouldn't it be accepted into the dictionary? Language evolves over time and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

Also, who cares about it being the one millionth word to get in? It's just a number.

To be honest I knew it would've been just a matter of time before it became and official word. Its fine with me, I use it from time to time.

XD I think that's awesome.

However, I'm gonna crap brixcks if it's spelled with zeros o_o
XD Me, too.

n00b
(n.) [noob] - One that is not familiar with a particular place; Did you see that n00b double posting?

XD Hah.

Oh. God.

xDDD

Awesome. Just awesome. Honestly, guys, you're taking this way too seriously. It's a word. That no one will force you to use. Why are you all so upset? Really? I think its great that we're taking such a commonly-used word online and putting in as official English. There isn't much complaining to be done, seeing as you're not being forced to say it IRL. And how is this stooping low? Because its a derogatory term commonly used on the internet? I don't see the big deal.

If they spell it with two zeros... I will officially die of laughter.

Gosh, if you don't like it, don't use it. >_> Discombubbletatored noobs. xD

What n00bs made this decision!? I mean honestly! What n00bs use n00b in their n00bish vocabulary, huh N00B?

sannys way of describing a noob:
noob, noun
1.a person who really sucks at something
2. a person who is new to something
see newbie, beginer, noob bucket
used in a sentence:
when the new person to the community joined and played sanny in a game of brawl, he turned on items. after the match sanny pm'd him saying:
YOU ARE SUCH A NOOB WITH ALL OF YOUR NOOBISHNESS YOU MUST MAKE ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS LOOK LIKE NOOBS WITH ALL OF YOUR NOOBISHNESS AND THEY PITY YOU FOR BEING A NOOB YOU NOOB BUCKET!

Well, time to get angry and stop punching anyone who says noob. As it's an actual word now, I'll go say this.

!*&@#*&%^*^$(!%Q&)@ Z4QQQ<->

Who in their right mind uses noob as an actual word.
