I don't really get the hype behind Bebop. I think all episodes so far were great and really entertaining. And I love all the characters. And the fight choreography is far better than what you'd see in most anime these days. It is a great package. But, idk, I never felt it was 10/10 material for me. But then again, I still have the last six episodes to go.

I should try sakura trick sometime.

Anyway, episode 22 of bebop seen. Just reminded me of the fact that faye's the sexiest anime babe I've seen as of yet. And that Spike can be really hilarious when he shows his stubborn side. :3

You praised all the greatest things about it yet say you don't get the hype? o:

Fantastic show with an added nostalgia bonus.

I just don't think it is a best anime EVARR material, that's all. It is a great anime and its animation continues to blow me away even though it is a 15 year old show at this point but...yeah, some people consider it legendary and all that jazz. I just think it is a highly polished show. Not quite 'legendary' or out of the world...if that's the appropriate way to put it??

The legendary status is only a western thing, it was one of the shows that got a generation into anime so it will always be looked upon fondly. I didn't see it back then but it is still head and shoulders above a majority of anime. Direction and OST are out of this world, and I'm not even that big a Shinichiro Watanabe fan.

What would you consider legendary?

Something that'd make me go 'wow. That was amazing. I was completely memerized. What a ride it has been, holy friggin ♥♥♥♥'. Something that'd just, you know, blow me away. I'll be honest, there hasn't been anything that has had that kind of a reaction from me so far. But I'm hoping some of the oldie gold stuff like GITS and LoGH will do exactly that. Bebop is fantastic, though. No doubt. Direction, as you say, is amazing. I prefer it to every single anime I'm watching right now. But it didn't quite 'blow me away' as of yet. Lesse. I still have 4 episodes to go. Maybe the ending will.

And I understand now. About it getting a whole generation into anime and all that stuff. Didn't think about it that way.

Dragon Ball Z, NGE, Bebop, Haruhi, Death Note, FMA, Gundam, Robotech, Star Blazers, Geass, Elfen Lied?.....ect

All of these series are massively iconic/legendary in the west and I'm sure you don't like them all. Actual quality of the series has very little to do with how the public receives on the whole.

Baccano is good ♥♥♥♥, have fun.

That's true. But Bebop is also considered a very good anime by a LOT of people. With it being featured very high on people's lists and it garnering so much critical acclaim - I didn't consider its legendary status to refer to how iconic it is but instead for how good the series is supposed to be, you know? If that makes any sense...

Oh, great. Either way, I'll finish it tomorrow. Will then start Trigun or Honey and Clover. Whichever's first episode interests me more..

Wait, what? Akuma no Riddle is shoujo-ai...? Hm, maybe I'll just skip through the episodes to find the good looking homeroom teacher XD
I don't entirely blame you for forgetting the main characters, they are some of the least interesting out of the series. So far. I keep expecting things to turn around at some point in the near future.

Seems pretty subtle from what we've seen so far. n fact, I picked Akuma on Riddle becuase I heard it was going to have good yuri. I blame Sakura Trick for ruining my expectations for any good yuri any time soon.
I blame Kannazuki no Miko for ruining my expectations for any good yuri to ever become popular. I couldn't get into Sakura Trick, because everything I saw of it just looked about as mediocre as most yuri series usually are. I think bonus points should be added in for this feeling that I got that people were praising it for those same reasons.

Then again, I also tend to have this feeling that a lot of yuri series are at their best when they're not being such. Yamibou, anyone? The space arc was legitimately depressing (makes sense, given that it's basically a tribute to a lot of really depressing space opera-type series), for instance.

Fantastic show with an added nostalgia bonus.
NAILED IT

Not that Cowboy Bebop -- what I've seen of it, anyway -- was actually even remotely bad or anything, but I think that, for a lot of people in a certain age range, it was their first exposure to anime, so they kind of inflate their opinions on it a little as a result.

Trigun is held in pretty high regard by the generation that got into toons through Bebop. Never really had any interest in it though tbh.

I'll probably start something new tonight. Not sure what though.

Oh, I haven't watched Akuma no Riddle, and I don't usually forget characters XD But what I was saying is that I normally avoid series that have more than 1-2 female protagonists/characters; I have an aversion to females it seems x:
