Seed Bomb only does 24 - 29% so shouldn't break Braviary's Subsitute (nor hurt it much when coming in) and even so it can roost the damage, as Shifty will likely expect it to attack outright and Sucker Punch it. At that time it can Subsitute, Bulk Up, and leave Shiftry to where it was before and then Braviary can Bulk Up, etc, eventually leaving it at +6 and Shiftry at +6. It doesn't even need to Subsitute because Shiftry's Sucker Punch will do less than half damage most of the time.

At +0 Atk/Def, Braviary is ohkod by all of Gigalith's move bar Earthquake whilst Braviary can only 6hko. At +6 Atk/Def though, Gigalith is 2hkod with brave bird whilst Gigalith 3hkos without factoring brave bird recoil. It's a suicide mission but meh, can't think of anything else lol

(psych up regirock + physically defensive probopass js. also braviary could Sub or Roost and somewhat stall it out, depending on what it's locked into, so it isn't the safest choice @ Gigalith, while psych up Regirock is uncommon but works well, forcing Braviary to switch or take Recoil [tho I guess Curse Regi could work too], while Probo can paralyse it if it plays well and can keep using Power Gem over and over and only 4hko's iirc? this is just for general information, though!!)

Nevertheless although it's been used before, it fits somewhat well here (it'll be nice to see a different counter from what was used before, though).

Scald can burn it if it tries to attack outright with Stone Edge, and can recover HP with Protect/Wish and stall out Stone Edge and force a switch, considering it does 50% maximum. Or if it Explodes after SR it's only a 2HKO and it'll survive with a little HP and Gigalith will be dead. Unless the opponent has a Gothorita or a Diglett or a Trapinch to trap it, Alomomola can switch out and regenerate HP to around half ready for its next switch in.

Frillish can come in on a predicted Scald, proceed with Taunt (with 144 speed EVs and a Jolly nature, Frillish outspeeds rofl), and goes to town. I wouldn't recommend this on actual sets though, just something that outright beats the set given above xD

An awesome moveset for this chicken, Fire Blast is able to check the many Grass, Ice and Bug-types present in NU while Focus Blast allows it to deal with Rock, Dark and Normal-types. Substitute helps stop status conditions for a bit, while Protect is a handy way of getting Combusken's Speed Boost to trigger. Try it out if you want.

I'm not replying rn because I'm busy but I just want to correct this: Yeah no, Focus Blast has a 12% chance of OHKOing Lapras (if it hits) upon switching in and on the second turn Combusken will still kill it with Fire Blast to take the extra damage, or try Focus Blasting again because it outspeeds and if it misses it can just try to Focus Blast again in which it still may OHKO depending on the damage roll, and even if Combusken is behind a sub it'll still outspeed and likely could kill, so your only chance of surviving is luck, really. ;(

Counter this mon is for Pokemon that have safe switch-ins, rather than Pokemon that can just OHKO the other.

that golem is outsped and ohkoed and cannot switch in whatsoever if there are hazards up. by very definition, this is not a counter. you should also be using 252 atk / 252 spe (if you want a bulky rock setter then you should be using regirock) and rock blast over stone edge unless you enjoy being set up on by a load of things like sub ninjask or being pp stalled by subbu braviary. i also really like using custap berry + explosion over sucker punch, try that out next time you play with golem. normal gem is also a nice idea if your team really struggles with stuff like tangela / musharna or if you just want to get momentum going.


anyway to deal with ampharos: it's actually quite hard to find anything that can really switch in reliably because it has solid coverage and is rather strong, but piloswine can switch in on anything barring focus blast and ohko it with earthquake. you could also use something obnoxious like sdef ludicolo and stall it out with leech seed + giga drain but realistically you will never use that in an actual game

Poliswine is quite strong with Earthquake + Stone Edge, buuut, I'd say that set is countered by Samurott. Samurott can take Ice Attacks attacks from it's typing, and it's overall bulk can take a Earthquake and Stone Edge on the switch in. It can outspeed and OHKO with a Waterfall.
