Andy, perhaps you'd like to go back and take a peep at the discussion on page 12...? Becoming a mod doesn't gain you popularity, but rather, being a great member does. It also isn't fair to generalise between mods and members. Why should we be discluded just because we have a coloured name and larger PM inbox (which was enlarged due to reports, I might add)?
Ty I read all the posts (I don't skip posts like some members that did post in here asking questions). Now take a glance at mine again, the only thing I said about "popularity" is "
So what is really wrong with letting two members get there 15 Minutes of fame?" now even that isn't really about popularity. I never said anything about "Oh you Mods are so popular around PC. It isn't fair to the members" I know for a fact that popularity isn't
determined by your rank on PC. I was more popular then most Mods and S-Mods when I was a member on PC.
And why shouldn't you be able to run? Because you are Staff, how many members that is running wish they could be a Mod? Wish they could have a colored name and stand out on the online list? Or have a larger PM box then most members. All of you Mods done have it, so you winning will be like taking that from another member (yes I know you guys might lose, but that's not the point. The point is this even should be about the members). What is in it for you Mods? Just a usergroup of your own and the color you want?

Also, there's like 3x the amount of mods as opposed to the amount of higher staff. They get a lot of recognition, while we're just the stray dogs who go around dealing with spammers. And, for the millionth time, the mods ran last time, so by disallowing us to run this time, you're being really unfair.
So what if there are more Mods? All I've heard is "We are still members", you now saying that S-Mods+ are not members anymore?
And I though you just said this "
Becoming a mod doesn't gain you popularity". What makes you think S-Mods and Praetors have more recognition then Mods? Do you really think some one like Tommy has more "popularity" then some one like you Ty? He is an S-Mod and you are a Mod yet his recognition on actions and stuff isn't as high as you. So why can't he run? Give me a good reason on why S-Mods and Praetors can't run?
Ever heard of change? So what if Mods ran the last time. This is a new election, things don't have to be the same. Was Claire here checking IPs last time? Was there a starting date on campaigning last time? You was able to start a campaign club about the member last time, yet this time you can't. You could send PMs last time asking to vote for so and so, this time you can't.
Isn't that "unfair" to everyone?

And campaign managers... I don't want one. You tell your friends that you're running, and they'll vote for you if they think you deserve it. Campaign managers organise a website, and get that person more votes, right? That's despicable. You shouldn't vote for people unless you think they actually deserve it. A website is also a way of getting random people who you don't even know to vote for you. It's just sad, and shameful.
I see nothing wrong with a site telling about the member and having banners and stuff on the site. What if you didn't know anything about ACManga. And you though about voting for him (or you was out looking for people to vote for and wanted to find the best one) because you don't have anyone in mind to vote for. Now you go to his site, read up on some stuff see if he deserves your vote or not.
Now what is so despicable about that Ty? The way you put it it goes "The member with the most friends win". If you ran do you really think 100% of your votes was because members though you deserved it? It should be where members run and win because of what they did. But most votes come from they liking you, they don't know any of the others, or they know someone voting for you and they will just go with that person.

Actually, now that I've got that covered, I don't really care about entering or not. It'd be cool to have my own usergroup with a coloured name, but if others are just going to go ahead and cheat, then I don't want to be a part of it.
Unless JK changes what he said (quotes in my last post) then you are able to run. I see no one cheating. So what's stopping you?
