I would ask why anyone would play FPS games without mouse and keyboard, but I think we've had that discussion before.
It's a question I still have no answer for.

Personally I find playing FPS Games with a controller very uncomfy, but to each their own.

This post is to claim my absolute neutrality on the controller vs keyboard debate.

Getting ''way into'' video games certainly doesn't sound negative to me. Unless you are doing things like skipping food, class and locking your children in caravans.

Now that I think about it, the last FPS game I played (assuming of course that Minecraft doesn't count) would be the first Borderlands. That, and I remember playing Black Mesa not soon after it was first made available a few years ago.

I guess they're not really my type of games, either. With metroidvanias, RPGs, MMOs, and building games being among my most played, I guess it makes sense to say I need games to be a "project" for me to properly get into them, which FPS games usually do not provide. Fools me into believing I'm being productive.

Whelp, that went about as well as expected. Was making an FPS = Frames Per Second joke but I messed up on the jargon and delivery.

But I'm not particularly into most modern First Person Shooters. That said, I like most all genres, and FPS are no exception- I generally don't discriminate. Halo, Deus Ex (the original), SWAT 4, Goldeneye 64 (still my favorite FPS), and now Grand Theft Auto V are picks for me.

But, really, 2015- or really, any time after Call of Duty 4 isn't really the greatest time to be into FPS. They became a hot item and developer upon developer jumped ship to make cheap and quick to ship out uninspired FPS'. It's dying down quite a bit as of last year, thankfully, and hopefully we'll start to see more polished FPS titles. Again, I don't think a whole lot of FPS (but similarly, no less than most other genres that I give no special favor or don't hold in particularly high esteem), but this past...almost decade has really given them a bad name.

I've actually played a bit of vidja recently. Casual weeb games from the Gundam and Naruto franchises.

Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas have even spread to gendum games.

Controller for life. Also, Destiny is wonderful. Just made the final class I hadn't made yet, a Titan, in both the Xbox One and PS4 versions. Defender on PS4 and Striker on the One. So much fun.

Still love my Bladedancer Hunter though. She's sexy to watch with her Arc Blade.

78. I never really played FPSes before we had one for our Xbox 360, so my first experience and most of my experience is the controller.

I have played on keyboard and mouse with no noticeable difference in skill, but that's kinda because I've never sunk the time into FPS games other than casual multiplayer. For me, they're a social game.

I'm not much of a multiplayer gamer unless I'm doing it locally. I don't really miss out on much, though.

Only game I really play...competitively (if you can call it that) is Osu!, but I'm generally a non-competitive gamer, I don't really gain anything from trash talk.

81

I'm just not a competitive person at all. So as you can tell competitive gaming really isn't my cup of tea so-to-speak.

83

Same. I'm generally not swayed by competitive elements in games. Doesn't mean I won't ever play online multi, though. I had a grand old time with Titanfall, and I enjoy playing against others in Osu every now and again (mostly because it grants me a new, restart-absent way of play).

Thought I'm definitely a coop > competitive person, I'd say. Especially since there's always the chance of playing against bitches competitively, and God do I hate complaining.

I liked playing Burnout online with people I know. Not so keen on playing online with randoms. When I played football games against strangers people would always quit if they were losing so it got boring.
