Here is my SU that I hope to update during the future.
Spoiler:
Name: Mugen L. Marcus
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Epithet/Nickname: "Jetstream"
Appearance: (Going to hold out on an actual drawing and see if I can make my own. For now, I'll post a description.)
Marcus is considerably short for his age, standing at 5'3" (to his dismay) and is a dirty blonde. Bangs cover most of his forehead and his hair reaches down to his upper back. His skin is lightly tanned from spending his days out in the sun and his eyes are a dark blue. Aspiring to be muscular like most of the warriors of the sea he's seen, he's attempted to gain a muscular build by lifting weights, although the results can't be seen on his muscles and he is slim. Often, he is seen with his arms crossed behind his head.
Mugen usually has a silver stopwatch around his neck that he got from a pirate who tipped him for helping unload his ship. It has an Ouroboros design on the outside. He also wears a shabby laced up t-shirt, tattered brown trousers , a black sash around his waist (made from the cloth of his father's old jolly roger), and black sea boots.
Personality: Mugen has a strong sense of honor and loyalty to his family, even though he only knew his dad. He holds a natural distrust Marines because his father installed it into him during his younger years and Mugen himself was often mistreated by certain Marines in Loguetown. This caused him to be mischievous towards the Marines. Mugen is very carefree and free-spirited unless put in a situation threatening the safety of anyone he truly cares for. To this, he reacts especially hostile. Mugen can even be carefree when fighting; preferring to fight for fun and to pit his abilities against others and, because of this, he never voluntary takes an innocent life. He also dislikes having a leader he is at odds with and will never put himself in the situation unless needed.
He is somewhat good natured although his hesitant and selfish thoughts of self-preservation can make him reluctant to act immediately for the sake of others. Mugen is socially naïve because he hasn't had much interaction with those his age. This may have lead him to seek solitude under normal conditions, but his father always told him that one day he would meet friends worth dying for, who would be worth more than any other treasure he could find across every ocean. Firmly, he believes in hard work to attain one's desires as this was installed into him by his father throughout his childhood. During his early years, he was often told by his father to be "childish in thought, but that it was a good trait." He is never jealous or envious of anyone because he wants himself to achieve greater than he could ever aspire to be. Mugen loves "cool souvenirs" and adventures more than any worldly desire.
History: He was born in Loguetown and raised by just his father, without ever venturing outside of the town. They lived a modest lifestyle that was accommodated with work for the two of them, Mugen being a courier and his father, a handyman. Their lifestyle certainly wasn't lavish and they were often used to not having a dollar to their name. Often they were both pushed around by the Marines of the town for seemingly minor reasons and they weren't a complete family, although his dad always managed to make the best of things and told Mugen of his days as a pirate. These stories captivated Mugen and soon, he longed to become a pirate to have his own stories to tell and to see the many sights of the world that he only heard from his father. Seeking to become a pirate, he became a worker at the Loguetown port to prepare himself seaworthy. He even, became physically conditioned because of the heavy lifting require for the job and trained himself to become stronger. This job was slightly frowned upon by his father, who wanted anything to deal with pirates behind him and for his son to not live a dangerous future.
Mugen's work at the port was a dream come true. Even though he wasn't able to go out sailing like he wanted, he was still able to see everyone who came through Loguetown from pirates seeking to travel the Grand Line to Merpeople, seeking to barter goods. This only fed his dreams to become a Pirate and Mugen felt even surer in his abilities once heard plenty of stories. He has memorized every single one (although he isn't as well versed with any other knowledge) and loves to hear new ones or even hear the old stories retold. Quietly, Mugen began saving up money to set out to sea in secret without his father's knowing.
These days soon turned darker as Mugen's father turned up missing one late afternoon. As Mugen returned home, he returned to find his father's belongings cleared out. Searching his small home for his father, he immediately knew something was wrong. Sadly, Mugen searched for his father around town and even resorted to asking the Marines he hated so much for help, but they rejected him without any effort to help and no one around the town knew Marcus' father by the same name he knew him by. Mugen then knew that his father had lied about his name. Returning home to find clues, the only things his dad left behind were his tattered jolly roger and a tattered sheet of paper with "Mugen" written on it that he keeps in his sash. Retrieving the money for his stash, he set out feeling hurt, but with objectives set firm in his mind.
Devil Fruit/Equipment/Weapon: As a brawler, Marcus is a natural at hand to hand unarmed combat and he is agile and physically strong. His agility makes him capable of feats such as hopping from rooftop to rooftop and his strength is trained just enough to break cement bare handed although it's not his fighting abilities that are as unique as it is his tolerance for pain. His relentless fighting spirit overlooks his comparative strength. He has no experience with firearms aside from cannons, which he is only slightly accustomed to.
Goal/Dream: To go on many adventures like his father. The stories his dad told him, along with the tales he was told working at the port and the fact that adventuring is in his blood are the main cause of this.
Other/Quirks:
Mugen almost never rejects a fair challenge.
Dislikes comments about him being a "pretty boy," suggestions to him appearing feminine and he hates any comments about his height.
Mugen loves anything entertaining, especially stories and has a photographic memory.
He can't read.
He is also Gynophobic and minor contact with females makes him dizzy.
