Beyond Megas, I want to see something like a camera pan through the Hoenn region, maybe showing the skyline or a few buildings from some of the towns. That would psych me up given I'm excited to see my old favorites in 3D.

Maybe something like the opening of Pt and HgSs which showed multiple towns in sequence?

I want to see Wally. Usually the rival is shown with the player characters but this time we didn't see him. I wonder if he'll be dress rural to fit where he lives.

Do you really consider him the rival? I think Hoenn is unique in that the main rival is the other PC.

Well along with the other Pc he's a rival. Sadly XY having Serena/Calem be the rival to the player has made it less Unique.

If you don't remember, in the original Ruby and Sapphire, after defeating them in Lilycove City the player's opposite-gender rival (Brendan/May) said they wanted to give up being a trainer so they could help Professor Birch with his research, and as a result they gave up before their starter was even able to get to its final stage hence you never saw Sceptile/Blaziken/Swampert with them. It was after that part of the game that started to show that Wally was the true rival.

@ Hikamaru Right, that's why I am wonder why Wally's redesign wasn't shown considering the Rival is usually shown with the main characters art...

You know when a pre-release poster for the Best Wishes series (click here to see it) of the Pokemon anime showed Iris and Cilan but not Ash? They were apparently keeping his design under wraps a bit longer to surprise the fans, so maybe that may be what they're trying to do with Wally. Surprise his updated appearance in a matter similar to that.

But still, that makes me think if the next CoroCoro might eventually reveal Wally's updated design.

I hope it's not too radical of a difference. I hope it's closer to May's kind of redesign and not Tabitha's...
 
I don't dislike Wally! He's just not on the same level as rival to me, ya feel?

I also hope it's on the same level of redesign as maybe Brendan, because the admins' redesigns were very radical and Wally just needs some beefing up. Maybe more than corduroy pants and a dress shirt - those aren't traveling clothes for a trainer.

I think they should give him two styles of clothing. He could wear something similar like he wore in RSE, but when we face him at Victory Road he could be wearing something similar to what his manga counterpart wore when he went to awaken Rayquaza. It'll make sense seeing how originally Wally was suppose to not travel, and simply stay home, so his original clothes fit what he's doing up until we see him at Victory Road.

True! That would be cool. Even him getting more battles with us and gradually changing his attire or after realizing he's going on a journey, he goes to get new clothes and that's when we get introduced to character customization...? We all change some of our attire at the same time (could be optional) and he shows us that he's ready to go and we have another exhibition battle as a "test" now that we're both refreshed and ready to continue our journeys post-Mauville or thereabouts. [/speculation]

Mauville could be a good point to do that seeing how it's the last time we saw him in Emerald until Victory Road.
 
Two more days and we get to see some E3 footage, guys! (iirc?)

Also I'm noticing that Mega Swampert is growing on everyone now. I never actually thought Mega Swampert looked weird or bad, myself. It just looks like he's been taking supplements and working out. XD; He looks really awesome to me and might actually be my favorite of the starter Megas.

Who's everyone else's favorite?

.. I'm also really bent on the idea that we won't have character customization just because this is a remake. I hope that doesn't seem pessimistic of me. XD;

I bet you were convinced characters wouldn't be receiving entire makeovers, either, though! ;) (see: team magma/aqua)

Actually, I was definitely expecting that! XD

Didn't surprise me at all! They look fantastic too!

Do you guys have a favorite redesign, too? I personally think all of Team Aqua looks really amazing.
They remind me a lot of the pirates from Windwaker for some reason.

I definitely wasn't expecting huge overhauls haha. But I really like Shelly, Archie, Courtney, and Maxie. Like I said earlier, Matt and Tabitha are 100% ruined for me, the latter more than the former. Whatever, though, I can get over it.

Yeah, Sabrina's change in HgSs is nothing compared to Tabitha's.
