6th Gen OR & AS not set in Hoenn?

I haven't actually seen any confirmation that they'll be set in Hoenn, or that they'll be remakes. I mean, I think it's highly likely that they'll be set in Hoenn, but as of yet we don't really know anything about the content of the games at all.

I have several hopes for what the games will be, but I think that with all the hype that this idea gets, it's easy to confuse speculation with fact. I recall hearing we'll find out more this weekend, so I'm looking forward to getting some definitive answers.

Nintendo confirmed they're remakes. You can also check out Serebii, they have that confirmation posted.

There's not much to be discussed on whether or not the game will be set in Hoenn, but I do think it's possible that they add a new area to the game that wasn't in the original RSE. They did something similar with the Sevii Islands in FRLG and with several maps in HGSS, so it's definitely plausible. It could explain the word 'new' in the teaser.

Parroting most people and saying that because it's a remake, it's definitely gonna be in Hoenn. The new region the Hiker hinted at is likely a new game entirely.

I guess it's just the hints that make me wonder now.
 
Pretty sure the phrase 'new adventure' has been coined because it's not the same game so naturally it won't be the same adventure.
