Suggestion: Pair Postbit

While I myself have no pair, I think the option to include the Pair thing in the postbit instead of just the about me section would be nice, because with the amount of people who list their pair in their sig I think this would free up signature space etc.

edit fail prefix XD

I don't mind having it in my signature. There are other people I like to include in my sig and even if this became a legitimate option I think I'd keep my pair in my signature anyway. I guess I'm not really against this but at the same time I don't really see a huge reason to go for it anyway, since most of the time you're just removing one line of text. :(

I like this idea :x I mean I'm totally not intending to change mine if it occurs buut it could show that pairs mean a little more than words in signature, and rather a part of you, aka postbit. Then again whether it's necessary or not might prevent it from occuring :(

My pairs bring color to my sig, in most cases, because of how I link them with their supporter/moderator format. I don't find it hard to do that...just integrate the lyrics to link to them. But of course, if there was a postbit for it, doesn't mean I'd take them out of my sig. I'd still put them there, and in the postbit. So yeah, I wouldn't mind this being implemented, although I think it's better to have them in sigs, but that's just me. lol

I like this idea to be honest. It would be nice to have your pair's name included somewhere rather than just a spot in your signature or a place on your profile. Seeing as there's no reason why we couldn't have it, other than not liking the idea, I'd have no real problem with it. I can probably picture a cute pear icon next to where the Gamertag names, Wii Number, and the other miscellaneous extras fit.

...and prefix fixed. :]

It should also be mentioned that some users prefer having signatures disabled, yet might be intrigued in who people otherwise interact with - and a suggestion such as this one might very well help out in that regard. I'm for it, by all means.

Well, I like the idea. That is, if you want to use it. You can use this function, or you can put it in your signature. It would work either way.

Just want to add to this. I like that this feature isn't a HUGE change, nor a forced changed. It's just an optional thing to do and it's not "you have to do this or this and that's that" if you get what I mean. So yeah. Just felt I should mention that. :]

I really want this. Wouldn't seem hard to implement and would be a nice addition.

Oh, I like this idea. It's a nice idea, and it does imply your pair is more important that words and etc. xD

Yeah, I'd really like this.

Going to throw myself in with the "good idea" people. But it should be an icon like the gamertags, not text, because some names are long and would make the postbit look really weird.

I like the idea.

Overall it would be nice to have some more editable fields for the post-bit area.

If we can add more data without cluttering the postbit; I say go for it.

For example if we traded off the somewhat stalker-rific location field for a pair field that would be fine. Or like previously suggested like the gamertag/IM icons we could add a pair icon...though that might need to be somewhat customizable to denote what level of pairing it most closely matches, and/or have a neutral meaning sort of icon we denote as "Pairing" icon, that doesn't imply unnecessary things.

I don't like the idea myself, since I feel it'll take up unnecessary space. Especially since I don't have the need for nature, age, or location to be in the postbit, so adding anything else seems counter-productive to me. Aside from that, I really don't care who someone's pair is...

That being said, this was quickly discussed in HQ, and it seems to have been briskly decided against. Although, I think the admins may be adding an option in the User CP to decide what's in the post bit on a user-per-user basis, but don't hold me to that...

Just thought I should let you all know.

Stupid, stupid idea.

Would just waste even more space.

I think postbits are cluttered enough already.

Thanks for the post, Pachisou Yutohru.

The User CP already has some tick marks for hiding postbit objects, but none of them are functional yet. Ohhhh I'm so excited :D

Observant, Gymnotide. XD;

I just finished coding the feature, it's all functional now. By default everything is shown but you can uncheck the boxes to the point that literally nothing but username is shown.

Go to your Edit Options page, scroll to Thread Display Options, and select from the Postbit Elements checkboxes.

It's not on the legacy postbit yet (I'll add that in a few minutes), and it also may not be functional on some styles if they have super customized postbit templates. Just shoot me a VM or a PM or post in this thread if you use a style that the feature doesn't work on, and I'll add it.

Wooters scooters <3
I'm testing to see if this actually works XD

edit LOLOLOLOLOL
Like with everything else, Generation InVerse is immune to changes ;)
Probably just fix up the theme itself.
