PETA vs Cows vs Breastmilk.

Yes, I have a reason for the title. PETA is basically urging for Ben & Jerrys to replace thier cows milk, with... breast milk. Or at least 75% of it.

PETA's urge said:
This morning, PETA dispatched a letter to Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, cofounders of ice cream icon Ben & Jerry's Homemade Inc., urging them to replace the cow's milk in their products with human breast milk. PETA's request comes in the wake of news reports that a Swiss restaurant owner will begin purchasing breast milk from nursing mothers and substituting breast milk for 75 percent of the cow's milk in the food he serves. PETA points out to Cohen and Greenfield that such a move on their part would lessen the suffering of dairy cows and their babies on factory farms and benefit human health at the same time.
Basicaly, shut-up PETA. So, PETA once again overeacts to a somewhat scary decision of a resturant owner, making them go to big companies in order to follow his lead.
Thats going to put huge stress on mothers, in many ways. Have they considered feeding of babies, the stress, the mental stress and the biggy: How are they going to produce it? By lining them up and putting suction cups on the breasts, and basicaly sucking it out? Or are they going to send a milkman and make the mothers squeeze it out, into little milk jars?
Sheesh, go to Hilliary Swank for that. [/thankyoufamilyguy]

PETA says why said:
"The fact that human adults consume huge quantities of dairy products made from milk that was meant for a baby cow just doesn't make sense," says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. "Everyone knows that 'the breast is best,' so Ben & Jerry's could do consumers and cows a big favor by making the switch to breast milk."
I had to point that out.
Anyway, they say that milk coming from a cow is meant for a baby cow. Thats exactly the same for human children. They can't risk the life of a human, for a cow right? A baby human. And possibly vice versa, but i'm sticking up for the human here.
The Letter said:
PETA's letter to Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield follows.
September 23, 2008

Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, Cofounders
Ben & Jerry's Homemade Inc.

Dear Mr. Cohen and Mr. Greenfield,

On behalf of PETA and our more than 2 million members and supporters, I'd like to bring your attention to an innovative new idea from Switzerland that would bring a unique twist to Ben and Jerry's. Storchen restaurant is set to unveil a menu that includes soups, stews, and sauces made with at least 75 percent breast milk procured from human donors who are paid in exchange for their milk. If Ben and Jerry's replaced the cow's milk in its ice cream with breast milk, your customers--and cows--would reap the benefits.

Using cow's milk for your ice cream is a hazard to your customer's health. Dairy products have been linked to juvenile diabetes, allergies, constipation, obesity, and prostate and ovarian cancer. The late Dr. Benjamin Spock, America's leading authority on child care, spoke out against feeding cow's milk to children, saying it may play a role in anemia, allergies, and juvenile diabetes and in the long term, will set kids up for obesity and heart disease--America's number one cause of death.

Animals will also benefit from the switch to breast milk. Like all mammals, cows only produce milk during and after pregnancy, so to be able to constantly milk them, cows are forcefully impregnated every nine months. After several years of living in filthy conditions and being forced to produce 10 times more milk than they would naturally, their exhausted bodies are turned into hamburgers or ground up for soup.

And of course, the veal industry could not survive without the dairy industry. Because male calves can't produce milk, dairy farmers take them from their mothers immediately after birth and sell them to veal farms, where they endure 14 to17 weeks of torment chained inside a crate so small that they can't even turn around.

The breast is best! Won't you give cows and their babies a break and our health a boost by switching from cow's milk to breast milk in Ben and Jerry's ice cream? Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Tracy Reiman
Executive Vice President

SO does other foods, ma'am.

Hmm, I must admit thats a good point. But nevertheless, how would the stress on the breasts/nipple/woman be? Humans are more complicated.
And also, what if the women don't volunteer/sign-up?

Thats a horrible mental image, por favor. But, you know @^E_^@$) painful it is for women to give birth? Checkmate.

^ Link tells all.

I heard of this a few days ago, and last night also on the radio, which generally everyone said with a big fat no, apart from a few other reasons such as:

Not unless they knew where it came from.
Unless it's manually done, then no. (O.o)
Introducing two new flavours, Boobsicle and Breastcream! ( the person won a prize for saying that)

And now, discuss.

...
If I weren't so familiar with the idiocy of PETA, I would think this were a joke.

That said, I'm not sure I'm comfortable consuming human breastmilk. D; I mean, sure, it's fine for babies, but...something about that just seems...gross.

Bah. If I want my breast milk, I want it fresh from the baby moma's teets.

Srsly,WTF? I mean, the PETA needs to just be quiet. I don't care how they rationalize it. Anyone who's ever tasted breastmilk knows that this is a sick & disgusting idea. I mean, is their anything worse than going into the fridge, reaching for what you think to be a jar of canned (Carnation) milk, just to find out your cereal is ruined after the first bite?

Besides, used up cow burgers, made from 100% cows who can no longer produce milk is the best! I mean, srsly, splather some ketchup & call it a day.

Epic phail.

Is this real, or is it some kind of weird hoax? =/ I don't see how a major organization can be that idiotic.

\|/|-|47 73|-| \|/4|=|=135!?

Seriously. These guys have mental disorientations. I mean BREASTMILK!? Breastmilk is basically formed specialized for baby humans. Cow milk has a different natural formula that's much more healthier than breastmilk.

HA! Diabetes? If they think those breastmilk elves think they can stop me from drinking 3/4 litter of 2% milk a day. Then may lighting strike me in the leg while getting run over by a Ferrari immediately after a hole in one in Death Valley.

Red Flag!

Hey, probably everyone here has tasted breakmilk. It's natural.
However, I don't think most humans above the ages of 1 will want this.
I know I don't.

I think PETA is full of gay vegetarian hippies, if you ask me.

Way to go Peta >.<
Lets go save some cows! WHOO!!!
No. Drink your own bodily fluids and keep me out of it. (Unless they were hot, and it was straight from the container if you know what I mean :P) I will now go kill a cow just for one hamburger slice then swiftly spit on its grave. Actually Id eat the rest... kinda hungry...
Peta is now almost as stupid as me.

Human milk does not have enough fat to curdle, so either way they're gonna have to mix it with another animal's if you want cheese.
Human milk does make more sense than cow milk (though personally I prefer goat milk), since we're humans, it's meant for us; cow milk is meant for cows.

Cows are also much cheaper since they don't demand a salary, the cost of human milking would far outstretch the income (and volunteers would be too few in number);
cows' milk is more nutritious, especially in the areas of fat and calcium (any food will apparently give you some combination the things stated in that letter);
in this age of femenism, no woman is going to tolerate being treated like a factory.
The bottom line is that human milk tastes horrible (I've tasted it personally only a few years ago, so I'm not just saying that), so even if they do get it off the ground who will be willing to buy it in any bulk? That seems to be something PETA is forgetting.

Animals will also benefit from the switch to breast milk. They like to use the word force a lot... firstly, there's nothing forceful about impregnating any animal every so often; secondly, so long as it's fed enough it'll have the nutrients to produce milk that much.
Turning them into burgers and soup at the end makes perfect sense, what the hell else are we supposed to do with a cow once's it's useless for milk?

Yeah, I mean old enough to recognize it...I hate explaining the pawnchline.

Ghey vegetarian hippies...epic win.

This is obviously a ploy to garter attention to their clause, they don't honestly think it'll even be legal to do so. Notice how they put such detail into the treatment of animals. However, there are more logical methods, rather than their usual radical ways. All it does is gets me in the mood for a burger splathered in Butter Pecan.

I can imagine like a dirty little farm factory thing, with rows and rows of topless women, having pumps on their...chests...
Yeah, it's sickening, no, it's monsterous, they dare touch my favorite food and my favorite ice cream company...

I've heard of Peta saying weird stuff, but this takes the cake...
I first read about it in Time magazine and I thought, 'What? Is that a joke or something?'
I knew it wasn't. Honestly, I don't know how they can suggest that. Drinking or eating another woman's bodily fluids gives me a major gross-out.

What's next, using human skin for leather? Sounds like the kind of far-fetched thing Peta would go for, seeing that it's gross to the sane human population.

Man kind has been drinking breast milk since... well, more or less the beginning of time. All these "issues" with cow milk obviously aren't affecting us to badly. I mean, c'mon... if a person can't drink cow milk, it called "Lactose Intolerance". Not "drink human breastmilk instead".

They've aleady attacked KFC, and for us of African descent, that means war. xD;

PETA needs to get something better to do than attack random companies.

Even if some people were willing to eat it, how many people would they actually get to provide their breast milk? Not many I bet; not to mention the diet and lifestyle of the person is going to affect the taste.

I can just imagine the conversation.

"So, who shall we annoy today?"
"Hmmm, ask Ben & Jerry's to use human breast milk for their ice cream?"
"LOL! ok that should be funny"
