PokéCommunity Puzzle League! (Puzzle spin-offs chat & challenges!)

I am a 3DS too.

Still at 228, Gothitelle :(
 
Oh dear, don't think I'm looking forward to encountering Gothitelle!

For the most part you get the Mega Speedups as rewards in the Escalation Battles but I think there might also have been some as prizes in recent competitions.
 
I believe it's for score and ranks. I have to say that I find it so satisfying when you get a massive bonus combo, I love the sound! :)

Oh, and dare I say it, but I think I might be happy with the OP! There's several challenges for each game now! But do let me know if there's anything you'd like to see! I'm gonna try and do a mega photo dump today!

Edit: My scores for Pokemon Puzzle Challenge... I'm sure I used to be really good at the Tetris version back in the day... I blame the old thumbs {:3}

Edit: It's the weekend again which means it's Victini and Meowth time! Which Pokemon do use to get the most out of Meowth's Coin Mania and how/who do you choose to level up with Victini?

Generally I tend to level up useful Megas or major Legendaries unless there's an ongoing competion or special stage where I'm struggling to capture the Pokemon and I try and level up the Pokemon needed for those stages.

With Meowth I'm trying to decide whether it's best to go with Mega Lucario or Mega Heracross or Mega Gengar. Despite other people's success with Heracross or Gengar's abilities I seem to get better results using Lucario. Perhaps because I don't buy Mega Start or Moves +5 as the reward doesn't seem worth it when you factor in the cost.

Wow, You should be rolling in the titles with all of those scores! Perhaps I should step my game up as well, hmm?

It sounds odd, but I don't think I've ever played the Meowth Stage yet, but I have played the Victini stage twice. The Pokemon I tend plan to use would probably be good Megas, and Pokemon that Optimize seems to like to throw out, such as Stantler and Klefki.

Did you play Meowth today?

I've uploaded some scores for Link Battle and Pinball to my High Scores & Stuff Album. I would say I'm more of a Pinball Squib than a Pinball Wizard but I do love playing it!

I did play Meowth, I think it was 2 or 3 days ago? I can't remember. It wasn't available today for me, I just checked. I thought it was on weekends though? But anyway, I also can't exactly remember how much coins I got or what my score was, but I believe I got 800 coins? I thought it would've been something like "Convert damage into money" but instead it was actually "match coins to get coins" it caught me by surprise a little bit.

And now for some more Shuffle progress!

I cannot beat Mega Mawile. I've tried that stage at least 15 times already! I've even enlisted the help of Charizard and Lucario from the Expert stages, but still no luck. I'm trying to get Moltres right now, to see if he'll be of any more much needed help.

I didn't mean for that to get so long, I tend to ramble on like that... it's just how I am! :P

Yeah Meowth's Coin Mania is just on Sundays now.

It may not be the team I originally used but my Optimize option for Mega Mawile is Mega Lucario, Heatran, Ninetales and Groudon. Maybe try using a Mega Start and match Lucario horizontally to maximise obstacle elimination?

Sigh, so I just missed out on Banettite, did anyone get it?

So what do you make of the hackers? I just don't get it, does it get cred in the hacker world? Otherwise they're not achieving anything as they get removed from the leaderboard and probably banned from the game too!

Ho-Oh is making it's Shuffle debut this week!

Something I randomly thought of today, is that reporter chick ever going to make a reappearance? I guess it was just a way of introducing the game mechanics but I'd like her to show up once in a while!
 
Ugh, So I'm taking a break from Mega Mawile for now to do some Expert and Special stages! I tried Giratina's Escalation Battle, and by some slim miracle, I caught him at Stage 10! With his help, I caught Celebi as well! ^^ Thank goodness for that too, optimize is still making me use Espurr.

I totally forgot about the Banettite competition... I didn't even enter! But I probably stood at least a small chance with Giratina on my side.

There's hackers for this game? I had no idea. But then again, If there's any mention of a "Leaderboard" in any game, hackers are there.

I got destroyed by Ho-oh and Lugia. :(

Haha, I forgot about her! It would be nice if she could just show up again for once, wouldn't it? {XD}
 
Yeah some idiots are using Pokemon that haven't even been released yet like Ditto, which gives them a huge advantage. Luckilky Game Freak or tPCI or whoever are on top of it and they all get removed before the comps end and I think banned too.

Still sticking with Shuffle, which are some of your fave skills to use and your most hated disruptions to face?!

I like the skills that delay or remove disruptions most like Chill, Freeze, Sleep Charm and Paralyze, and Rock Break, Block Smash and Cloud Clear. Mega wise I prefer erasing lots of extra Pokemon or obstacles, Lucario, Glailie and Ampharos are probably my faves for that, and matching or adding extra Pokemon like Gengar or Heracross do are great also.

I think the unbreakable-blocks are probably the worst but the black clouds are very annoying, especially in timed stages! Whatever the disruption though, when you face a Pokemon who does them on every or every other turn it just gets ARRGH!
 
Sounds nasty... But as long as they have it under control.

I pay no attention to skills, and I know the game is just waiting for it's chance to come back and bite me for it.

Like Mega Mawile? Still haven't beat that stage yet... :| To be fair, It does make Ice Blocks as well... Which I also hate really badly, coincidentally.

I actually played some Puzzle League this evening, got further in the Spa Service than ever before but still can't beat it. On stage 6-1, does it go to 6-5 before you face Giovanni? I dread to think how hard that stage will be! Have you won against Butch and Cassidy? Shocker, I haven't! {XD}

Edit: I do love James in a tutu! {XD}
 
I'm surprised you haven't updated your own titles yet, actually! {XD}

Ugh, I lost to Giovanni like, 24 or something times on that old score mine. That number is sadly not too far off, either. Heck, Giovanni's stage is EXACTLY the same stage as Butch and Cassidy's! Speed level 40! (at least I think it was 40...) so beating them means you beat Giovanni on your first try more than 20 levels earlier than you were supposed to! And on that subject, I've beat them only once, but it wasn't on that save file. So as far as the game knows, I've never done it. :P

Puzzle Challenge's Line clear pulls the same trick as well, Morty's level is equal to Clair's at 40.

I beat all three puzzles on Easy and tried the first one on Normal and almost beat it but I eventually got annoyed by the five second loop of music and gave up. Seriously, they should include a mute button for their games, it's not hard.
 
Argh, why I am so rubbish? No, no need to answer! {XD} Any tips? I could do them as a kid but always struggled with them in the Professor Layton games!

Don't feel too bad, I... Can't finish the first puzzle on Easy either... Argh, and it's exactly like the 15 Puzzle from the first Final Fantasy, too. ...Which I tried a ton of way back when. I still can't do it even to this day.

I tend to have my computer on mute all the time, so I wouldn't have noticed the terrible music loop. I turned on the volume just to hear it. :P
