Jeese and James aren't trainers, they haven't registered as official trainers.
 
Wow. This thread is really going active big time all of a sudden. With more members.

It's just in the anime that everything seems free though. Guess they thought the anime showing battling for money wasn't appropriate for kids.... ^^
 
Exactly, Nintendo must've thought that kids paying for stuff would encourage children to gamble or something.

And that's baad because gambling is bad. BUT there are game corners in all pokémon games... :O

I can't remember any game corners in the anime.... just as with the money, the gaming has been left out :S

Yeah, it was left out, but I'm pretty sure that other gambling places were mentioned/shown in the anime, mainly in the first season. Um.. some episode with Jigglypuff in it :x
 
There was an episode where Ash and Misty and Brock were stylish dressed..... or was that perhaps the Meowth/Psyduck-movie episode? x)
 
Haha, at first I thought you meant the episode that just aired in Japan where Ash was in a maid outfit XD

But yeah, it was the episode where Psyduck was in a movie, and they went to... some city to see the premier and all had nice clothes on.
 
So, moving on from Pokemon and it's gambling related content; what do you guys think is the most surreal thing about Pokemon?
 
The fact that water pokémon can blow out hundreds of litres of water without getting smaller or dehydrated. In a pokéleague episode iin the first season of anime, Ash's Squirtle 'spits' water until a whole truck cargo... place... is filled. Like, eh? Magic.....
In the Pokéspecial manga, Blue's Blastoise can only spray water from its cannons for a limited time. that's more realistic. Not realistic, but less surreal perhaps^^
 
I seem to remember reading somewhere that the water Pokemon took in moisture from the air and used it to fuel their water attacks. Although, it still wouldn't make sense when Squirtle used water gun on Cinnabar Island, so Im not sure :x

Something that's not really surreal, but annoying, is how Team Rocket used to be feared and all in the second episode, and now they're the comic reliefs of the show. It's kinda sad, really D:
 
Yeah, TR was always ten times more badass than magma/galactic/whatevsillyness. They were evil.
In these new games, TR is no more, but Jesse and James are too beloved to be removed from the anime. And thus, they are only there as some kind of funny antagonists :/

I know the topic was changed, but I know what episode you're talking about! It's the one where they try to get Jigglypuff to sing again! They were in a city where everyone is grumpy and no one sleeps. The city of lights! There were a few slot machines in the casinos.



As for Team Rocket it still amazes me that after all these years Ash and the gang are still like OMGosh! It's Team Rocket! What are they doing here????

Also, as many times as Team Rocket have blasted off and been shocked, you'd think they'd be dead. Or at least get a broken leg every once in a whole. Poor Team Rocket. ]:
 
Nowadays (and long before too....) TR works with Ash&co sometimes. As friends or at least as allies. For example, when James and Meowth helps Electrike learn to hit with it's lightning bolt. And in the 3:rd movie when Ash is about to fall, and Jessie&co helps dragging him up again. Hm...... what kinda antagonists are they turning into? Guess Paul was too much of a challenger^^
 
And don't forget the second movie where they jump off Lugia, trying to commit suicide, so Ash can survive.

So, how's everybody's Friday been?
 
Yes that's right... they sure are a sad trio ^^ Are there any similar characters in the Magma and Aqua teams in the Hoenn episodes?

My day's been great! Among other things, Vulpix has started to actually talk to Wartortle^^*
(I presume only DC understands that...)
How you've been, Oni my mr president, and you other guys?
 
I recall who Vulpix is, but have I missed out on something with the Wartortle?

Team Aqua and Magma were much grittier and funner to watch, no sings of idioticy from them.

Actually, Team Rocket were idiots in Pokemon Yellow as well.

As for myself? Oh, I didn't make the school tour to France so I'm really disappointed.
