Emerald hack: Pokémon Emerald Genesis [Beta 2.1]

Hey man, just wanted to say thanks for creating imo the ultimate Emerald experience. This is by far the best 3rd gen romhack I've ever played and I can't wait for beta 3.

I do have a couple of questions though:

1. Will we be able to customize the female avatar as well as the male avatar?

2. Will Porygon-Z be in the game?

I also have a couple of suggestions for pokemon changes:

Consider making Altaria part fairy type as that was a huge boost to it in oras when it received a mega evolution.

Also it would be cool if you could make Banette a ghost/normal type as that would not only give a great unique niche, but it also fits in well with it being a possessed doll.

These are just suggestions and I'm sure whatever you do, beta 3 is going to be a phenomenal experience.
 
Hey!

First things first: congratulations to the creator of this Rom Hack for the content he made. Personally, I think more than the typical quality of life improvements, what makes me want to keep on playing this game is the new areas to explore in Hoenn (I'm currently in Mossdeep).

Things like the Sanctuary Grove, Dewford Beach and the Hunter's Den really make the game seem fresh for someone who's played Emerald for years on end. I'm wondering if in the next update you'll consider adding other cool extra areas. If you notice the Hoenn map, there are small unused island areas south of Route 118 (in ORAS it apparently became "Fable Cave", but you could give it some other use) and south of Route 109.

Also, I have a question: there's this fancy house in Mossdeep City where you can play Pokémon Jump and Dodrio Berry Picking in vanilla Emerald. I can see you expanded the building, but when I try to interact with any of the NPC, the game freezes. Is this supposed to happen because this area of the game is still a work in progress? I'm using Beta 2.1.

Hello, I've played this game for a while now and I love it!

But just to make sure all my hard work trying to get a feebas isn't for nothing, is feebas available in this game? And is the location and method of finding it the same with vanilla emerald? Thanks
 
my game is stuck at the point where the man is asking me to open my pokenav and every time I try to open it the game acts like I selected another option. any way to get around this?

Unfortunately I am unable to replicate this bug myself, and it hasn't been reported at all in the 7 months since this version was released. As a result, I'm inclined to assume this is either human error, or some issue with your emulator controls/controller. Hope you manage to fix it friend!
 
Um, what is the shiny rate for this game? Just got a shiny and now I'm curious.

I don't have a technical question or complaint or anything. In fact, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for creating this wonderful masterpiece. I've been on and off again with Pokemon for a few years now, and tried all of the other hacks for Emerald specifically. This version had simply re-lit that pokefire under my butt, and I've been playing it on my RG350 for almost a month now. Seriously, the last time I delved that deep into one game was back in the gen 3-4 days.
Thank you for making this, and THANK YOU for releasing it. You are a true rockstar, mate!

Honestly man, this project started out as something I was making just for myself. But when I read comments like this, it overwhelms me with gratitude that I decided to release this to the public and fills me with motivation to make the hack the best I possibly can going forward. Really glad you enjoyed it!

You absolutely deserve every iota of praise that you're receiving for this masterpiece of a rom hack. I've tried virtually every Emerald rom hack under the sun and yours stands high above the rest. The fact that you carefully picked such a great handful of pokemon for Hoenn as well as perfectly tuning the difficulty in addition to the physical special split and quality of life improvements makes this IMHO the definitive way to experience one of the greatest pokemon games and rpgs of all time. Especially in these uncertain times, Emerald Genesis has provided a refuge for me to tune out all the stress and enjoy my favorite childhood game in an all new way. I can't wait to start over again once beta 3.0 comes out. You are an absolute legend Hillsy13 and thank you so much for giving all of us the single best way to experience Hoenn. Cheers mate!
 
I agree with MPZ, and the EV/IV display is a super fantastic touch! Can't wait to hit the BF with my almost complete roster of finely tuned poke, courtesy of that fantastic little add in. No more miscalculations...lol

Good luck man!! Yeah the battle frontier is easily the best part of Emerald and is the main reason why it's the definitive way to experience Hoenn. I also have to tip my hat off to Hillsy13 yet again for actually taking the time and effort to revamp the battle frontier to accommodate the new physical/special split. Not to mention the EV/IV scanner as you mentioned along with the ev training cave near mossdeep city that even has an ev reduction berry seller. I honestly haven't seen this much, passion, effort and dedication put into a rom hack since Drayano's Renegade Platinum.
